  • Superb Cookware, Induction Compatible, Beware the Finish
If Amazon had a 4.5 star rating I might have chosen that. I returned the first saucepan and probably should have returned the second although decided to keep it. As others have noted, someone rounded up on the product title. The product carton indicates it has a 1.5 liter or 1.6 quart volume. First the great aspects: This pan is part of the Pro IQ line which is extremely well designed cookware - I've bought more than just this piece. The Pro IQ line has a stainless steel handle whereas the IQ line has a bakelite plastic handle. They are both oven rated for 500 degrees F. The steel handle, according to a Scanpan rep, is likely more sturdy in the event the pan is dropped. The pan's nonstick surface seems to work very well. DO follow the instructions - wash with warm water & soap before using, keep it clean, NO spray oils - just use regular butter or oil from a bottle/jar, avoid overheating the pan. It works very well on an electric induction cooktop and, of course, will also work well on a regular smooth cooktop or a gas cooktop. The glass lid has a very sturdy handle and two vent holes allow steam to escape. The handle is curved and feels very comfortable to hold. Just "is" - neither great nor negative: This cookware is rather heavy - it seems similar in weight to a Le Creuset cast iron pan although we did not weigh it. It is still very comfortable to use; just don't expect a lightweight aluminum pan. The negative: Finish on the steel rim of the lid. The first unit had many scuff marks in the finish of the lid. I returned it for that and other reasons - Amazon shipped an open-box unit as new. The replacement unit ALSO had scuff marks on the steel rim of the lid; it ALSO had a couple very small dents. These are on the top of the lid and some scuff marks extend to the outer edge of the lid. So they are cosmetic only and will have no effect on usability. The scuffs and dents are why I lowered the rating. I decided to keep it mainly since we need the pan for a new induction oven, I got tired of returning it, and the defect will not affect usability. But for high-end cookware this is rather a surprising finding. It will be interesting to see if the manufacturer sees this review and shares any thoughts. I recommend the cookware since overall it is so well designed and it works so well. ... show more

  • Excellent quality and even cooking
LOVE this pan! I wish I would have bought this pan before the set I just bought. Great quality and cooks perfectly! I may sell the other brand I just bought to replace with the Scanpan Pro IQ line!

  • Perfect Design and Size
I love Scanpan! If you goof and use a metal utensil it will not hurt the cookng surface. They are sturdy and they wash up very easily. I like the design, especially the see-through top, which allows me to monitor the progress while keeping the stovetop clean. This size (1.6 quart) is perfect for reheating leftovers or for heating up soup. Excellent size for single cooks, as it can easily handle one or two servings of anything you want to make or just reheat. ... show more

  • Quality
I added this size saucepan to my collection of nonstick ScanPan best product I ever owned. Regular use, electric, gas or induction which I use.

  • Excellent product line. This series is particularly perfect for induction cooktops.
I also reviewed the 2.6 quart Saucepan so won't re-write it all here but suffice to say: This cookware line is well made, holds up beautifully, heats evenly and will not disappoint. Also if you have an induction cooktop, this particular series of ScanPan is designed for them.

  • 1.6Qt, not 2.
Please note that Scanpan can't seem to convert metric to imperial (except on the box?) - this is a 1.5L pot, which is 1.6Qt, so it is smaller than what you may expect if you're looking for a 2qt pot. The "3Qt" pot scanpan offers is 2.6Qts, which may be closer to your needs.
