First time buyer. The assembly took less than 5 minutes, my dog could assemble this vacuum. I was tired of buying $300+ Dyson vacuums that only lasted 2-3 years in a commercial application. These high-tech machines that do everything except last longer than 2-3 years. Something breaks, good luck finding a replacement part. They are just too complex for commercial applications. We have only been using our "simple" vacuum for a few weeks at our business. So far, here are our pro's and con's. The unit is very simple to assemble. Very simple design and replacement parts are inexpensive and can be replaced with minimal efforts. The performance is very good, has similar suction as a new Dyson. For our application, this vacuum is exactly what we wanted and the build quality and simplicity is very good considering the low price. Overall, for the length of time we have been using, I am extremely pleased. As far as cons, the only item we have noticed is that it may not be as good on hard flooring as it is on carpeting. The jury is still out on this. The majority of our offices are carpet, so not a big concern for us. I am interested to see how many years we get out of this vacuum before it needs replaced. So far, I am sold that simpler is better than the complex.

The pick up speed is great. Noise level is normal. Sanitaire is a quality product used by commercial companies. The effectiveness is top tier. Always an amazing purchase.

So, my 15+plus year Eureka Complete Clean was no longer working. It had a torn hose and Eureka doesn't make them anymore. I only loved it due to the heavy duty suction and leaving 'great' lines in carpet. I wanted a new canister but was unable to find one with a power roller/brush I bought a Bissell something upright, broke on first use, returned. So, I was once again searching for a vacuum. I find this one for 150.00...it has metal wands, metal bottom, a power roller/brush (not self propelled but...) I decided to try this. It arrived within 2 days, it was easy to put together. I have vacuumed my entire house. I have small home and only needed to unplug once and move to another socket once, so the cord is super long for me. I must say, I am impressed. Now, I can't see how much is sucked up into bag, I will definitely check. I was able to vacuum all area rugs on '1' setting btw. So far, so good. Well worth the money.. I have literally had it less than an hour.

This vacuum is designed to do only one thing: vacuum carpets. It has no "attachments", no special filters, and uses an old fashioned design - and it totally blows away the junk vacuums from Hoover and Bissell coming out of China these days. I have had those, and they are garbage which are full of "features" and break within a year. This Sanitaire only cleans the carpet, but it does an excellent job! And this is not a vacuum designed to be discarded - every piece on this machine can be replaced, and the parts are not expensive. It's designed for the owner to keep for many years. Also, it is extremely simple to assemble and use. The light weight and simple operation are much appreciated. It has a clean out bag, which can be changed out for disposable bags if desired. Rolls very easily across the floor. It also has the sturdiest power cord I have seen in decades; made to last! After seeing how good this product is by Sanitarie, I think I will try one of their cannister models soon to handle all the other vacuuming needs, such as floor edges and furniture. This company totally blows the Chinese made junk vacuums out of the water, and for the same price.

We have not even had these for just a few months and both vacuums' belts have broken. We bought these for a theatre and read reviews espousing these as great for commercial use, picking up popcorn, running well. Unfortunately that has NOT been our experience. These vacuums shoot the popcorn across the room instead of sucking it up. BOTH belts have already broken? Replacement belts were purchased and one has already snapped and the vacuums both have a horrible odor when operating of burning rubber. We expect the belts to snap again. What a disappointment and waste of money for a non-profit theatre.

I will start by saying: We have used a few varieties of the 'wind tunnels'. You know, the type with the plastic container that has some sort of filter etc. Overall, those types work. They're "modern" looking etc BUT They ALWAYS clog. We have a lab/shepherd mix, three cats and five people. We vacuum a lot. I finally started examining why the wind tunnel types (at least the cheap ones) clog. The dirt comes through the bottom, and goes through a bend and then up and around and down and through to the container. If even one small bit gets stuck in the bend, everything else clogs.AND you don't even realize it's clogged until you have to pull it apart and unclog it. By then, I have dust and hair everywhere and all over me. So, when i realized this I set about finding a vacuum that is not constructed like that. And I hit upon the search term: Industrial vacuum cleaner and from there, made my way to this vacuum. This picks up quite well. I notice that there is a more consistent brush to carpet groom. As I pull the vacuum back, I am seeing that it doesnt leave anything behind and picks up just about everything.
