….there are things you need to do to to get the bang for your buck. Thankfully I read reviews otherwise I would have returned this thinking it didn’t work. So here goes: 1) The iXpand Drive app is being retired 4/25 and will be replaced by SanDisk’s MemoryZone app. You’ll need to download both first. 2) Use a lightening device to update the drive otherwise the drive won’t recognize your USB-C iPhone/tablet device 3) Open the app, plug in the drive and magic happens. Follow the set-up prompts. 4) Do not let your phone/tablet sleep or the data transfer will stop 5) Use the eject feature when using the Memory Zone Once I figured out all of the above, using the drive itself is easy peasy. You can rename, delete, and organize your photos. Duplicates are no problem as you can opt keep or override them. Toggling between your device and the drive helps ensure you keep what you want on your phone. Open the app and plug the drive into your device and it will automatically backup new pictures. Once your pictures are on the drive, delete the pictures you don’t want on your phone to free up space. Don’t wait for the 30 day grace period for them to delete. Then check the Cloud to see how much storage you have on your device. Oops! Took a pic off your phone that you need? You can transfer it from the drive back onto your phone. Note: the drive will store music and videos but I don’t see a claim that it will store notes, files or folders. Personally, I use it to backup for my pictures and free up Cloud storage.     • Solves the storage program. Easy to use.
FINALLY. I found it. I've been needing a tool to get the photos and videos off of my Apple phones that is easy, works, doesn't have a monthly charge, and doesn't rely on a USB connection to my Windows computer. THIS IS IT! This flash drive for iPhone works great. Photos and videos transfer reasonably fast (no complaints about speed). The app is easy to use and provides an easy prompt to delete the photos/videos that were just transferred. An easy flip of the drive and it plugs into my PC and I can transfer the photos and have them backed up on a service that I already pay for. The painful part about connecting my phone to my PC was the mysterious timeout that happened between Windows and iOS. When connected to my PC (windows 10 and windows 11) it would transfer about 100 photo/video, then it would stop. After unplugging and re-plugging in my phone, it would transfer another 10 photos/videos then stop. Then it would just stop connecting, even after a re-boot of both devices. I would get a similar experience when using the windows photo transfer tool and when using the file explorer to copy the photo/video straight from the folder. SO FRUSTRATING!!! And I've struggled with this for YEARS on multiple different phones. It was the main reason I was so hesitant to get a new phone, because I knew the PAIN of photo transfer was coming. To make sure it's clear. It was SUPER EASY to transfer about 50GB of photos and videos from my iPhone to my PC. I am SO HAPPY with this device. ... show more

    • Best Flash Drive Storage!
I’ve read the reviews before purchasing. Some say they lose all their photos or files which made me had 2nd thoughts of buying but I brought it because I wanted to try it and I love it!. My photos and files are still there. The download is fast. The app only crashed on me once but it was only because I selected too many photos/videos. I did batch to batch download (300 photos/videos each batch) download at a time and it works well. It took me 1-2 hrs for all downloads as I have a lot of photos/videos. Some of the photos/video won’t open on HP/computer as it’s a certain file depends on the files as (HMCI/JPC ets.) but i found a solution. I just had to download a “convert photo” app onto my laptop, convert the photo/videos that won’t work/open on my laptop and it works!. I love the flash drive. It gives me more storage on my iPhone. I will for sure be purchasing another one in the future!. ... show more

    • Great backup alternative
I’ve been using this flash drive to back photos up on my phone, and has been working great so far. I got the 128gb one and haven’t had any problems with becoming full. It is a great alternative for backing up if you don’t want to keep paying for an iCloud subscription.

doesn't work at all as advertised. old ixpand was accessible by apps on iphone. this one? NOPE Nothing. In fact, I'm surprised at this point Sandisk hasn't been legally sued for selling a product that absolutely doesn't do anything it's supposed to. Now MAYBE they still need to update their app to work with the latest iOS and iPhone??? but for right now? it doesn't work out of the box. my old one worked great. This one? not one bit. it refuses to copy files, iPhone barely recognizes it and the only way to even read it (which is all you can do) is by using the ixpand app. But all of this is utterly useless. this drive accomplishes nothing compared to my older one. in fact, I may just get rid of iphone altogether for this very reason. Apple has become the stubborn spoiled child of the tech industry that refuses to grow up and add even BASIC functionality of other smartphones. if you are "smart" you will avoid apple and sandisk like the plague! terrible companies. EDIT: 1/22/23 After a week long email exchange with support months ago, NOTHING has been updated, fixed or responded to. In short, their support is literally NON EXISTENT lol These drives are being as of right now, FALSELY ADVERTISED AS FULLY COMPATIBLE WITH THE LATEST iOS ON iPhones AND iPads THEY can barely pull files off the iOS devices but absolutely you can no longer copy files TO the iOS devices. so. as of today, they are non functional wastes of money that essentially just regular flash drives for the PC or MAC and not what they are advertised to do. Supports has literally acknowledged this, escalated the issue from within their so called Tech Support, but done NOTHING to resolve it. no replies, no updates nothing. To summarize they admitted their was a problem, made false promises to fix it, and did nothing. If anyone wants to sue them for false advertising by all means GO FOR IT! YOU WILL TOTALLY WIN! They are still falsely advertising these devices as fully compatible with iOS when they are completely NOT! you could win a lot. I'm mildly suggesting anyone with the ways and means take San Disk to court and win some money for their false advertising. I mean why not? clearly they think they are above the law and are selling a broken product based on false claims doing nothing to actually rectify it. so I would say go for it. easy money. easy win. any corporate lawyer could take these guys easy. This is Great works well works on my iPhone 14 You have to get two apps. It’s made of metal so it will not dent easily has a lot of storage on it. You can sort all your photos easily and it’s a very small and compactible so I can fit in your bag easily.
