It’s very small and petite which is nice. It was a little difficult to figure out the app at first. It seemed as though it was automatically downloading the pictures for me when it was not. It does take awhile if you do all your pictures at once. It’s better to do the pictures in increments, it takes longer to process but it’s better. I ran into issues with my iPhone not being recognized by my PC and then AirDrop issues and couldn't transfer my pictures or video until I got this. Absolutely amazing and a life saver. I recently became addicted with taking video in 4K at 60 fps which can easily mean 1+ GB files. Plus the Cinematic mode on the iPhone 13 Pro Max is incredible but also has large files. AirDrop is a groundbreaking Apple feature but even it had trouble transferring such large files between two iPhone 13 Pro Maxes. I also have always had RAM/buffer issues (iPhone side - had to do restarts) using the Import feature for my PC to get iPhone media to my laptop. I actually have a group of pictures and video forever lost due to incomplete transfers using the native Windows Import. Now, everything transfers seamlessly to this drive (i got the 256 GB) and then USB-C to my laptop (then 1 TB Samsung T7 SSD). I have Syntech USB-C to USB-A adatpers for USB 3.0 if I need it. I am concerned about losing the Lightning protective cap but store the driver with USB-C out and the USB-A adapter attached for protection. I really like the metal housing construction. Also, everything transfers to the drive (AAE, etc.) for complete files. I am really excited and relieved to find this drive. The SanDisk app is also very nice and easy to use. They did a very nice job on it. I also like how the app asks to move the photos/videos it just transferred to the Deleted folder. It helps keep things organized. Trying to transfer iPhone photos to a Windows PC was an extremely frustrating experience, nay, outright impossible . This device made it so much easier. Without this device, I plug in my phone, I try move the photos, I get "photo folder not found". Then I replug my phone, I find the folder this time, it transfer 20 photos, then it fails, and fails again. I replug it in again, the folder is gone! It's a mind-boggling different everytime! With this device, it's near the drag-and-drop simplicity I expected the iPhone should've been! This works great for transferring or porting pictures & videos off an iPhone as long as you're not wanting to do all the pictures in one go. Large amounts of gigs transferring at once will take an inordinate amount of time. What I like The device is made of metal Not Plastic. Very Sturdy. Build quality is a 10+ but you are paying for it too. once the app is downloaded onto the phone transferring photos and videos onto the device is a snap. Minor annoyances It was unclear at the time of purchase if there was an app involved to access the device from the phone. transfer rate is a bit pokey for my liking. 63gb of videos and pictures took about 6 hours on an iPhone XR. It would be nice if there was an estimated time of when the transfer would complete. Major annoyances If the phone goes to the lock screen or the screen goes blank; the transfer stops dead in its tracks. It would be nice to know that before discovering that the hard way many times over. transferring all the pictures at once proved not to work that well. the transfer would either stop or continue and not transferring all of the files and DIDNT IDENTIFY WHICH FILES DIDN'T TRANSFER. MAJOR ANNOYANCE. No where was there any warning that if the phone goes dark, the transfer will quit. what I didn't like This device is not storage media to do an image back up of your phone. IT ONLY BACKS UP PICTURES AND VIDEOS. it will not back up emails, text messages, apps or settings. I'm not going to ding the rating because of this. Mainly because I may have been my fault for not reading the description or doing any homework on the devices' functionality. This device is just for iPhones & USB type C / thunderbolt. Other (way) cheaper alternatives that I've purchased in the past had an adapters to convert the native USB type C to USB type A and also had an adapter to convert the iPhone to Micro USB a for Android phones. So if your computer isn't a Mac or doesn't have a USB type C port, this isn't the tool for you! The price tag is a bit high for the limited type of device it works with. Transfer rates for a USB-C / thunderbolt device is slower than it should be; meaning it takes much longer than it should to transfer onto a computer. I use my phone for my youtube channel and copy the videos onto my video editing computer which is extremely quick using this device, is slower than just transferring directly from the phone via a USB cable (the charging cable). BUT if you're on vacation and iCloud is full - this is a very handy device to have around to free up storage on your phone! ... show more

This works awesome with my iPhone but does not work with an iPad. That’s not a big deal because most my files will get transferred to a computer. This give my phone the ability add more photos and videos which is good because some of the 4k video are huge.
