These chains were a bit tricky to install, as are most chains, but fit nicely and make all of the difference in traction on snow and ice. Not sure whether I needed chain tensioners but, distrusting the rubber bands with the plastic hooks, I picked up some springs at my local Ace Hardware to prevent possible slippage on the tires. The chains fit well enough that this might not have been necessary, but I would rather have them and not need them than need them and not have them. By the way, one of my concerns when shopping for chains was the minimal clearance between the inside edge of the tires and the body of the snow blower. The links on these chains are small enough that there is no problem with clearance, but are still large enough to provide plenty of traction. Need I add that the price is right on these bad boys? ... show more

    • Easy to install on my Craftsman Snow Blower
We had a heavy wet snow of about 6 inches and my Craftsman Snow Blower tires kept slipping making it much harder to navigate. Trying to clear the ridge made by the snowplow required shoveling (I'm 69 years old), time to try adding chains to the wheels. I read the reviews, measured my tires and ordered these as they were the ones that came closest to my size and were reasonably priced. Just to be sure, I also ordered the rubber chain tightener that some reviews suggested. When they both arrived (on time as promised), my son and I started the installation. I let the air out of the tires (as I had read was helpful.) The chains were too big. I used my handy dandy bolt cutter to remove the links of one cross chain and that made it fit. When we reinflated the tires, the chain tightener was not needed, the chains fit snugly. The whole process took less than a half hour. Unfortunately, we have not had any significant snowfall since we installed the chains so I can't tell how much better my snow blower works by adding them. The four star review is for the ease of installation. When and if we get enough snow to use the blower, I'll update this review. ... show more

    • Exact Fit for Tires
I was a little reluctant in ordering these as I had seen reviews for other chains where they didn’t fit the tires at all that were specified for. These fit perfectly with a nice tight fit around the tires so they don’t slip on the tires when traction is engaged. Excellent product!

    • Bad design
These were for my snow blower, they do fit, but the chain sits below the knobbies on the tire making them useless. These would be perfect for Normal smooth tires but the do not even make contact with the ground on knobbie tires. Good brand, just not what I needed.

    • Works well
I installed it on a 13 inch diameter Ariens snow blower. Installation was rather easy. It required cutting off 3 chain links. Fitted nicely without any need for tensioners. Used it and am happy with it.

Bought these chains to put on my snowblower that could bog down in deep wet snow. I've used them for two seasons and have not had any problems under some difficult conditions. I haven't had to make any adjustments, they have shown only a small touch of rust despite the considerable road salt I encounter at the end of my driveway. Installation really isn't that bad and the quality of the chains is good. My issue is that I had to order twice as a notice was sent to my email saying there was a issue with the delivery and I'm still waiting for the credit on that set. I put a set of these chains on my Dad's snow blower a couple of years ago and was / am very happy with them. So this time after being told there was a delivery issue I went back on Amazon to see if they still showed stock. They did so I ordered them again and had them within two days.     • Not the best figment
The chains are small and do not sit higher than the knobs that they fall between on the tires. I will have to modify the chains with additional links in order for them to work. I would purchase a different set/style with an H or diagonal pattern in the future.
