Fast USB drive with an attractive design. extends and retracts for transportation. Also has a key ring that is sturdy enough to last a long time. I created 2 partitions in this drive to use it to set up a new computer. (Read Performance)One partition is windows install media, which performed very well. The windows install was the quickest i have seen in my experience, taking under 10 minutes start to finish. (Write/Read) The second partition i used as a Backup to transfer files from my old computer as well as drivers for the new computer. Writing files to this drive is quick enough that it only took me a couple minutes to backup ~15GB of files from my old computer that had failing HDD's. Unloading the files on my new computer was very quick, took a little over a minute to transfer everything off the USB drive. Overall i would recommend this drive to anyone.

I am returning the SanDisk Extreme GO mainly because of very poor performance when transferring large number of small files. First the build. Nothing special and disappointing when I first received it. The black portion is very light and flimsy feeling plastic. The "metal" portion does not look like bronze, perhaps closer to titanium, but I guess the marketing gurus thought bronze sounded good. Ergonomics are poor or fair at best. Handling the plastic while inserting is not comfortable and if you handle the metal portion while inserting (most natural and comfortable), it has the tendency to collapse and slide closed. That's because they designed it so that you need to press down on the rear half of the metal portion to get it to close. So if you touch or handle the metal portion while inserting, it will tend to close on you. Best way to insert might be to handle it by the side edges of the black plastic. It's a kludgy design. Unfortunately where the Extreme GO falls down the hardest (a fatal fall), is in random read and writes. See attached CrystalDiskMark scores. Look at the random writes; practically non-existant. When I attempted to transfer a large (62GB) folder with mostly small files, the Extreme Go turned into the Extreme SLOW. It was painful to watch and I had to cancel the process because it was evident after a while that it was going nowhere. If you are mainly transferring single or a few files like 1080P or maybe even 4K movies, your experience will be much better. If you have folders with many small files to move, try the more expensive SanDisk Extreme PRO or better yet, the Fanxiang F395 which performs even better for less cost. See my Fanxiang F395 review including benchmark scores that rival the best flash sticks out there.

Muy decepcionado con el rendimiento ,mi intencion era comprar el modelo anterior Extreme Go 3.1 compre varios y su rendimiento siempre fue muy bueno ,como ya no hay compre este 3.2 al hacer transferencias de archivos queda colgado de a ratos y luego continua ,el mismo comportamiento lo tienen en 2 pc diferentes de ultima generacion Asus X570 y B550Tuf ,lo mismo cuando se intenta abrir una foto se queda esperando ,los test son muy malos ,el modelo 3.1 era el unico que tenia 10 MB/s de escritura aleatoria este 3.2 no llega ni a 1MB incluso menos aun como si fuera un pendrive de los comunes pero a su vez hay que sumale el error de que se queda colgado. Como estoy en Uruguay devolverlo no es una opcion por el costo de envio a USA Info actualizada 4/08/22 Este modelo solo funciona si está formateado en ExFat (no Fat32 ni Ntfs) sirve para el uso normal fotos documentos pero no para un uso tecnico , el modelo anterior 3.1 se podia formatear en fat32 y Ntfs y en cualquiera de ellos mantenia su velocidad, incluso la velocidad de escritura aleatoria era muy superior

Got this drive to transfer photos to show to my brother on his big screen tv. a lot of my photos were somehow duplicated which became tedious and lengthened the time to show them. I didn’t have time to preview the download but was under the assumption that I could “simply” transfer the photos that I wanted. Also, the photos were transferee in a random order. I would have preferred the photos to be in the order that I transferred them. As I write my review, I keep finding more “negative” things to say,, so I think I will quit.
