This is my 3rd Samsung Tab 4 10.1 I love it. But it is not long lasting as the tablet sides start separating and light shines thru the sides. 3 1/2 yrs first time 2yrs. next. Now this new tablet is a newer and slightly different. This one has just WIFI no 4G Lte. The settings are a little different but just the way they are setup. I've had Samsung tablets in the past and loved them, so I thought this tablet was a safe purchase due to the brand name. What a horrible mistake that was. I have several kids and they need tablets for school, piano lessons, and other things, so I try to buy affordable tablets that work. I've had bad luck with cheap tablets that are not name branded, so when I saw this on Prime Day sale I jumped. Even on first boot, right out of the box, the tablet was so unusably slow (it would take 5 to 10 seconds to register a single touch) that I couldn't even create more than one user. By the time the touch registers sometimes, the screen has already timed out and locked. It's difficult to clear the lock screen as well because by the time it registers the touch that you want to use the tablet, it has already timed out again. The most regrettable part is that I had already bought a protective case and a Skinomi tech skin screen for the tablet (and had already installed them). Because of this sending it back isn't worth it. Next time, with some other brand tablet, I will try it out to make sure it works ok before I buy cases and screen protectors. Don't be lured in by the price. Find something else. I would guess the more expensive Samsung tablets don't have this problem, but after this experience personally, I'm not going to find out. If anyone has recommendations for affordable android tablets, I would appreciate a tip :-) ... show more

    • Invaluable tool
I bought this item to help me in my small business. Now, I realize that it's not just helping me in business concerns, it's become a third hand of sorts for my whole life. I can track everything - perhaps not a revolutionary idea these days. But for me, this is the first touch-screen "smart" device I've ever owned. I've had to learn a lot, but this device made that process much easier. Some devices (or their designers) seem to think that you should have a degree in rocket science to understand and use their tech; Samsung wants people to be able to integrate the device into what they do so that they don't have to THINK about it, just use it, as effortlessly as they do a regular notepad and pen or any other tool. And that is what this is for me now. An invaluable tool. Though I did break down and put one or two games on it. :P ... show more

    • Good product but cautious with your expectations.
My tablet arrived quickly and worked well. I do have two minor issues. First, I received a Kindle Nook version of the tablet, which for its intended use is fine for me. It just essentially comes with more pre-installed software. As I said not an issue for me but it could be for someone who needs more space on a tablet and/or does not want to add an SD card. The second issue is purely cosmetic. The tablet arrived looking like it had been dropped at least twice and had a few dings and chips in 2 of the corners and a light scratch on the corner of the screen. I put it in a case and put a screen protector on, so neither was a huge deal to me but it could be to someone else. Buying a reconditioned product you are always taking a chance but I could easily see where someone would be unhappy with a tablet arriving with these kind of physical defects. After a few days of using it I decided not to contact the company as it would have been more hassle than it was worth for me. Overall I am very happy with the product itself and have no issues with the use of the tablet ... show more

Love this tablet! I have had it for about a month now and am very happy with it. I have had samsung galaxy phones for the past few years and am always happy with them, this is no different. I like that i can have access to any android app I want and they run nicely on it. The screen size is perfect for reading, exploring apps, etc. The speakers are much louder than I anticipated. I plugged a bluetooth speaker into it to play music outside, but the tablet's speakers were twice as loud as my speaker was! If you want a tablet with a decent camera, this is not it. I use it every once in a while for snapchat, but it isn't even good enough for that. Overall, the quality is great and can't beat the value for the price! ... show more

It is a good Samsung tablet, all works fine. But is a 2014 model and since you can't upgrade the android version, some apps from today already do NOT run on it. And as time goes by more apps will not run or update. It would be good to be told by Amazon that you are buying an OBSOLETE item. If you just need browsing and older apps, for now, you should be fine. But if you want the latest apps or updates, watch out. ... show more
