This is the second one we have purchased. It's in a place that gets intense sun. It protects my plants well and it's amazing how it cuts the intensity of heat under it. It's warrantee is for 3 yrs and that's how long it lasts until replacement needed, but that's a trade off we are ok with.

I have a set of the name brand version of this product, so I will compare this one against those. This shade has just about all of the features the name brand has. It tapers in the middle to make hanging it without creases or folds easier. It has heavy duty tie eyes in each corner, and it seems to be made of a very similar or identical material. The differences I see are the the name brand version has different color threads in the material which give it a bit more depth in appearance, and the coating on this shade seems to be applied in such a way that if "fills the gap" between the threads of the material. I am not sure if this is a positive (filters out more sun) or a negative (coating might slough off over time.) Once I have this mounted for a while, I intend to come back and update this review. For now, four stars.

This is not a soft material. It feels like plastic burlap. The weave pattern allows for some stretching and does a decent job keeping the sun out. But it's not waterproof and won't keep you dry. I would rather just get a tarp that costs less and keeps both sun and rain out. I don't see any advantages here other than this is quite a bit more flexible and stretchy than a typical tarp.

The sail was actually longer than 12 foot but it measured a true 8 foot width. The grommets appear to be sturdy and shouldn't lead to any waer and tear in the corners. It is not a solid beige but has some lighter colors running through it but it does provide nice shade to our pergola and will be a welcome relief this summer.

The media could not be loaded. This sunshade cover is more like a tarp. I thought it would be some kind of fabric material like an umbrella for the patio. However, it's made of high density polyurethane. It's probably good when it rains it can dry fast and not get moldy. I'm gonna put it up and see how I feel about it but as of now I'm not crazy about the look or how the listing for the product made it look more like fabric.

We got this shade to put around two side of the underneath part of our deck to provide shade and some minor protection from the wind and rain for when our dogs are outside. It was easy to attach this shade under the deck because it is rectangular and fit the square area of the posts under the deck. It definitely helps keep the sun from baking that part of the deck area so our dogs can have extra shade while outside.
