  • Great postage printer, *** FIX for those with white spots on bar code ***
Bought to print postage labels for E-bay sales. After less than twenty minutes out of the box, everything was set up and working. Pros: - Very compact. - Huge savings on effort and time compared to printing on normal paper, cutting out the label, and taping to a box. - Easy to use. - Seems very well built. - Comes with a USB cable, and a small "starter" packet of 4" x 6" self adhesive labels. - Website is nice with plenty of info and various how-to's (E-bay, Amazon, etc.) - Doesn't use proprietary labels. Cons: - There's a surprising oversight on the website, although it lists possible fixes for problems, it doesn't go into detail on how exactly to implement the fixes. To make the print-out darker, they suggest slowing down the print speed and increasing the print density in Printer Preferences -> Settings, but they don't tell you if the numbers should be higher or lower. Through trial and error I figured out the lower the number the slower the print speed (the "correct speed" for me appears to be 3 ). I'm still playing around with the density settings, but so far 6-8, prints out nice dark labels with no white spots. Bottom Line: There's really only four options for dedicated 4"x6" label printers. The Brother and DYMO both appear to have reliability issues, and the Zebra is too expensive (at least for what we're doing). As long as there's no malfunctions, the Rollo is looking like one of those devices that we'll wonder how we ever lived without it. Update: It's been more than six months and the Rollo keeps chugging along with regular (almost daily) use. Since the manufacturer has fixed their website instructions (very appreciated BTW), I'm now giving it five stars (from 4 to 5). ... show more

  • Has made my life easier
The ROLLO is a HUGE upgrade from the labels I was using in my Ecotank printer. Don't get me wrong, the print quality from the Ecotank is superb, but cutting the excess off of the label was really time consuming. I had to cut the label just right so that I could use the other label on the opposite side of the page for another print. My biggest concern was that I am using a MAC. I tried another big name thermal printer, and I couldn't get it to print properly at all. The page layout was screwy, and I didn't know how to fix it. And then... I went with my first gut instinct when I first started reading about thermal printers. Enter the ROLLO. It was really easy to set up, for the most part. The setup video that ROLLO uses wasn't too helpful. The ROLLO kept spitting out blank labels after the initial label was printed. Then I stumbled onto a video that was extremely helpful, and solved my problem completely. This is what you do... Do not put the label into the printer and close the printer head. I kept wondering what I was doing wrong, and it seemed like the ROLLO wasn't reading the label correctly. What you want to do is close the printer head, and then feed the label into it. Once I tried that trick, problem solved! The only other quirky thing that bothers me is that I cannot get my labels to print nice and neat with no margins. My labels end up slightly smaller and not completely centered. However, the print is still great and the labels scan without any problems at all, from both USPS and UPS. One other quirky thing it does is when I go to print a UPS label, I have to set it to "Custom" for the print pages setting, and select "1" page so that it doesn't spit out another blank label. When I print USPS labels it's totally fine. I can live with the quirks because it's still saving me a TON of time. For the ease and the time it has saved me, you really can't beat it. ... show more

  • Worth every penny, super easy setup, just do it!
I waffled on getting this as it's a pretty large investment for me since I'm just a very small time reseller. However, I have not regretted it for one moment. Set up was so easy it's not even funny. As soon as I connected it to my computer, we were off and running. I have had no issues with it at all. It prints very well, you just have to make sure that it stays clean and is aligned properly. I use off-brand labels and they work just fine. It is so much faster and cheaper than using paper and ink and a traditional printer. It prints immediately and does such a great job. I had trouble in the beginning with something that was a user error, and customer service was extremely helpful in helping me figure out that I was just having a blonde moment. My cats have stepped on this and shuffled it around at times and it's still going strong. Great little label printer, highly suggest if you are wondering whether you should bite the bullet and get this, the answer is yes! ... show more
