It's just felt and its really thin about a 10 mils in thickness but it made the liner go on so much easier and helps with getting wrinkles out of the liner.

Well it was installed the beginning of this summer an no holes or foot prints..it is working great. It is a value for your money if you don't want to keep replacing the liner. It makes the bottom of the pool more softer.

We "inherited" a 24 foot round above ground pool of unknown age when we bought our house in 2017. We had located various holes in the liner over the past few years but over the winter of 2023/2024, the entire pool drained and we decided to replace the liner. Doing a little research we decided that in addition to the liner, we should purchase a protection mat for the ground, pre-molded cove base and a foam liner around the walls. Upon removal of the old liner we found none of those items - just the liner over a sand base and steel panel walls.
