I purchased color 4R and it is an absolute perfect match. I use it before i have a quarter inch of grey just on the places that are super obvioius and i can get three applications from one bottle. By the time i put the color on all the grey roots it is time to wash it out and i just love this stuff. My hairdresser does not love it so much (i don't have to go to the salon as often) so to make him happy sometimes i just bring it into the salon and he puts it on my roots and actually does a much more thorough job than i but super happy that i can stock up. This is my favorite hair dye for touching up roots. It covers my grays well and was extremely easy to use. I loved everything about it! You can easily dose the amount needed, which was great! There was no waste and I had plenty for multiple uses. I have very dark brown black hair and the black blended perfectly. No one could tell I had dyed my hair at all. I loved it. But now I can no longer find it. Such a shame!

I was glad to see this back in stock because it is easy to use a little at a time for hairline / root touch ups. I used before & from what I recall it wasn’t the greatest shade ever but helped with touch ups. The one I received yesterday the cap was disconnected, so uncertain if I replaced it properly to dispense the correct amount of developer & color, but had to leave it on for an hour instead of 5 minutes & the developer still looked white in some areas. It didn’t completely cover grays, but blended them. Does anyone know if this might be that an incorrect amount of color or developer was dispensed? Or would the cold weather have made the product cold & this caused it to take longer to develop? Anyhow, in general this is normally the easiest & fastest way to touch up hair line & root area. Wish they made 9A as my hair tends to pull orange/red.

I'm so disappointed that this was discontinued!!! I loved that I could use exactly the amount I needed each time instead of having to mix the entire batch and throw away most of it. I hope that it comes back someday.

I have been using Clairol root touch up for years but I wanted to give this one a try because the dispenser was a clever idea. However, the color doesn't cover my greys as well not does it blend as well as clairols.
