I have been using this with my Model Y and plugged it into my dryer outlet, and it has worked great. It is very convenient to have a Level 2 style charging option without installing a permanent wall unit. Setup was straightforward. I connected it to my NEMA 14 30 dryer outlet and it started charging without any issues. The adjustable current is a nice feature, especially if you want to be mindful of the circuit load. It gives some flexibility depending on your home setup. The cable length is practical and gives enough reach in the garage. The unit itself feels solid and well built. The display is easy to read and shows useful charging information at a glance. For anyone who does not want to invest in a permanent installation or needs a portable solution, this is a very good alternative. It is especially useful as a backup or for situations where installing a dedicated charger is not ideal. I am very satisfied with it.

Charging cable is not 21' long. The entire thing end to end including the unit itself is roughly that long. Packaging seems fine, did not try to actually use it since it's too short. Returning it.

The 24 ev charger works great and doesn’t overheat! It charges the car in around 6 hours, Working as expected. This was the ideal choice to reuse an existing welding outlet in my garage to charge the EV. If you can’t install a wall panel or have the money to invest 2,500 this is a safe reliable and well invested option.

UPDATE: This Raylix Charger is actually capable of Level 2 charging as well. I just plugged it into a 220v 3-pin dryer port using a NEMA 10-30P (220v) to 6-20R adapter. I thought the adapter would convert to 110v and therefore expected to get a charge rate of 16a at 110v. Instead the charger recognized the 220v source and automatically began charging at 16a/220v allowing it to charge almost as fast as my wall mounted 220v charger. This qualifies this charger to Level 2. ORIGINAL REVIEW: This is a Level 1 NACS Charger for Teslas and other EV vehicles. The NACS (North American Charging System) system is rapidly becoming the dominant system has more and more car makers adopt this system. Home chargers are very slow, compared to SuperChargers, but most people have the advantage of time as their EV sits in the garage overnight…plus slow AC charging is better for your battery’s life. This Level 1 EV Charger (Level 1 means 110V) can operate at 12 amps on a standard 15A 110V AC outlet. However it comes with a plug adapter to charge at 16 amps if you’re lucky enough to have a higher level 20A circuit. This rate of charge is will typically add 12-18 miles of range per hour or up to 150 miles overnight. Most people drive less than 40 mile per day. If this describes you, you may not need to install an expensive 220V circuit for a faster charger. By comparison, I use a 30A 220V circuit, originally intended for an electric clothes dryer, and my 220v Level 2 Charger is still limited to charging at 24 amps (24 miles/hr). I’ve had my Model 3 for a year and find a 12A (12 miles per hour) overnight charge keeps my battery at its optimal 80% charge level and maintains peak performance. There are things I like about this charger. The charger display is bright and easy to read. I like the 21 foot cord. I particularly like how there is a button on the wand to open the charge port and release the wand after charging…something my 220V charger doesn’t have. It comes in a nice Cordura carry bag…perfect for me to keep it the sub-trunk for use at hotels or other venues where only a standard AC plug is available. Very Capable, High Quality Level 1 Charger for NACS…Recommended Addendum: If you’re confused about the power requirements, let me briefly explain: There is a rule among electrical engineers called the “125% rule”. It states that, when using power continuously, the circuit (breaker) rating must be 125% higher than the load. Therefore a 15A circuit can charge up to 12 amps, but a 20A circuit can charge at 16 amps., the maximum for 110V current circuits. Older 220V circuits are usually limited to 30A and can charge at 24 amps. Newer homes may have 40A breakers which is good for 32 amps. Occasionally you’ll see a 60A system which will allows charging at 48 amps but usually requires special wiring and is more commonly found in commercial buildings. The rule of thumb for a Tesla is roughly 1 mile of range per amp hour. I hope this helps.

Very impressed with the solid construction on this charger. The cord connectors are clearly manufactured to handle the 16amp load if used on a nema 6-20 plug. This is a plug and play item. Simply plug the charger in and you are all set. Overnight charging is the goal, and if you charge to 80% this is no problem with the 240 volt setting. This is designed to run at 110 or 240 voltage, in either setting you can acquire sufficient charge after charging overnight. The webpage is very informative as well, and customer service is reachable through amazon.
