  • Nice Portable Charger that I Plan to Leave Stationary in Garage
Size: 16A J1772 EV Charger NEMA 6-20 & 5-15 Plug
Too many Tesla chargers around and not enough Tesla autos any more. That's my problem. From my home to my office, to my shop, and several businesses with electric vehicles, I've got a need for more J1772 chargers. Having adapters from Tesla to J1772 is an OK solution, but having a dedicated J1772 charger is a real bonus. And it's portable, too, so it could take a trip if needed. This one is really solidly built. Thick cables and superb, locking charging plug that fits tightly into both vehicles I tried it with today. That plug has a very heavy-duty plastic housing that can be dropped a number of times without worry. Very happy with that quality. The charger's "brains" neatly fit into a small rectangular circuit box that's well insulated and well-sealed. Nice quality there too. Output is as expected for a 16 Amp charger - that's more than I need for any vehicle for the kind of capacities our batteries have and the overnight charging times let us top up from half, or much less even, to full. Auto-shut-off is perfect, and there's no overheating at all. Input is either 220 or 110 with auto-switching, and you've got both types of plug options commonly used in wiring for these things, so it's just a matter of adding the converter to get from 220V down to 110V - but then you're on Level 1 charging, which might be ample for you, and save you some money on re-wiring just for a charging unit. Makes a great replacement for J1772 chargers that come with vehicles but have gone kaput (LOL) and this does happen, especially here in lightning-prone Florida. They short out and go bad eventually, and this one is just as good as any OEM L1/L2 charger I've seen. It's well made and charges as fast as it promises and doesn't overheat and it's built really sturdy. I like everything about it, including its simplicity. I recommend this nice charger. ... show more

  • Medium charge plug
Size: 16A J1772 EV Charger NEMA 6-20 & 5-15 Plug
The qpq charger plugs into a 240 outlet (the winking eye) in US. The kit contains an adapter to change to the 110 plug, but we used the 240. The white plug clicks easily into a car (subaru solterra/j1772 standard charger) and the black end plugs into the wall outlet. The box for the cable lights up once there is power to the cable so you know that is on. Our car has a light to indicate the juice is flowing to the car so it's lighted on both ends- wall and car. Overnight, it charged a car from 7% to 86% in 10 hours, which is a rate of about 8/hour. ... show more

  • Suitable L2 charging solution for my plug-in hybrid vehicle
Size: 16A J1772 EV Charger NEMA 6-20 & 5-15 Plug
I was in the market for a portable Level 2 charger because my plugin hybrid only came with a Level 1. At 1.44kWh, it would take several hours to charge, but I know my vehicle can handle 3.5kWh. Saw this and ordered it, and I have no regrets. First off, the specs. At 220v and 16amps, this can charge at a rate of 3.5kWh. The EVSE itself is a male NEMA 6-20 (3 prongs with the left prong horizontal) with an included adapter to plug into your standard USA 5-15 amp 120v outlet. There is no adapter to a 15-50 receptacle. The underside of the EVSE comes with information to check LED codes. Upon plugging it in to my power outlet, the LED bar lit up solid green. When I plugged in my car, it flashed blue. After 1.5 hours of charging, I went from 25% to 50% battery SoC. This is what I expected given my battery's total capacity, so it was charging at the stated 3.5kWh rate. After charging and unplugging it from my vehicle, the EVSE flashed red 8 times indicating temperature protection, so I guess that it does this to cool down after a session. I felt the unit, and it was in no way hot. I plugged it back into my car and it continued charging. It goes back to a solid green when unplugged from the outlet and plugged back in. Kind of strange behavior, but oh well. I don't think I'll be leaving this plugged in after a charge. As a bonus, it comes with a fabric carrying bag. The unit itself isn't all that big or heavy. This is a suitable L2 charger for on-the-go. Just make sure to plan ahead and get any necessary adapters. ... show more

  • Works well on the Mustang Mach E
Size: 16A J1772 EV Charger NEMA 6-20 & 5-15 Plug
Great to keep on hand as a portable charger when out and about. The 110 level 1 is super slow but if you have access to a 210 outlet, not too bad and can charge up in a few hours. Cord is a good length and love that the plug into the car has a cover attached to help protect it. Overall, pretty happy with this. Using on our Mustang Mach E. ... show more

Great charger, I had this charging my Ioniq 5 in less than 3 minutes from opening the box. Nice long cord, the connector handle is very solid and feels well built. Storage bag is a nice touch, I am storing this in the frunk for use while traveling. Unit locked into the car socket once charging started. Price is very fair for what you get. • Not bad, but not great
Size: 16A J1772 EV Charger NEMA 6-20 & 5-15 Plug
I bought this so that I could leave it plugged into the garage at 110v and just drive up and plug in. What I've found is that if I leave it plugged in all day, when I get home and plug it into the car, it throws an error code. I have to unplug it from the wall and plug it back in - then it works perfectly. That kind of defeats the purpose of having this always plugged in ready to go for my convenience. Still, it does work and seems to be of fairly good construction. I just don't want to have to unplug it every time before I use it. Other than that, it makes for a good level 1 charger. At only 16 amps, if you have a 220v source, I really don't think this would be worth it for level 2 - you may want to look at a higher amp unit. ... show more
