We have owned this 13' umbrella for over one year. We are very happy with it and everybody who sees our setup compliments us on how beautiful it is. It is a well designed outside umbrella and very well made. Materials used are first class and the unit is well put together. Everything fits. The shipment arrived very well packaged and easy to handle. The 13 foot double top round umbrella is a substantial piece of equipment and requires two adults, at minimum, to install it. To lift the top assembly into the stand requires a good amount of manpower. Since the umbrella swivels 360 degrees it covers the whole of our wooden deck from morning till evening by making adjustments every so often during the day. We use the steel plate base which easily attaches to the deck and is located by 16 lag screws. This installation looks clean and stands up to some good size wind gusts. I would draw the line at about 15, maybe 20 mph. Opening and closing of the big canopy and rotating the unit is intuitive and easy. The Purple Leaf customer service is super responsive and went out of their way being helpful. I had a question about the workings of a small item being part of the canopy assembly and within a few days a complete replacement arrived at my front door.

We’ve had this umbrella on our patio for 5 years and it has exceeded our expectations. It’s only slightly faded and is still in good working condition. We would continue using it, but we’re replacing it with the smaller 12’ diameter version in the same color. The 13’ model is such a beast that we didn’t trust a normal weighted base, so instead we stacked pavers on the base. It can be a little cumbersome to open and close, but that’s to be expected considering the size. It’s remarkably stable for something so large. The tilt and rotation functions are also well-designed and easy to use. We were careful to take it down whenever strong winds or storms were forecast, but it had no problem withstanding 20 mph wind gusts when we were unable to take it down in time.

Well, this was darned expensive. And the base is separate, which initially made no sense to me. But...then I figured it out. The umbrella rocks. VERY heavy, but with 2 people and strong backs, very easy to assemble. Functionality is awesome, it tilts, it rotates around. Modest breeze, not even a shimmy in the whole assembly. Quality seems top notch. You pick your own base assembly, we did the standard plastic base which when filled with water, seems more than heavy enough to compensate for the lean and weight of the umbrella. But you can also dig a really big whole, dump in 700# of concrete, and then never worry about this sucker again. I subtracted a half star for value, this whole set up is about $1000, which by far is the most I've ever spent on an umbrella. But if this can hold up--totally worth it. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.

Great product, good quality and money value. The quality and looks of the umbrella is excellent and it's compliment my patio furniture. I love it and it worth every dollar spend. My wife and I are very much happy and love this umbrella. I am also impressed by their excellent customer service. Best custom service. (A1). I purchased a Purple Umbrella four years ago. Last winter, 2024, even with a cover, the umbrella had a tear. I took a picture and sent it to the company. Their response was quick. They asked for the order number, which was easy to find through Amazon. They sent me a brand new umbrella and suggested getting a cover appropriate for the size of the umbrella, which would protect the umbrella better. The fit was perfect for a deck and gives me the shade I need in summer. Our deck faces south, so we get all day sun. We are on a hill, and the wind is fierce. The umbrella remained solid, not bending or falling over. Incredible!!.

Originally This was to be delivered on Friday the 23rd. After sitting in the warehouse and not being shipped for a few days It was scheduled for after the memorial day weekend. Purple leaf contacted me and offered me a 10% discount and kept following up and somehow the umbrella was actually delivered Saturday afternoon so we at least got to use it for half of the memorial day weekend installing it on Sunday. Their customer service was very prompt and helpful. We love the umbrella as it appears well built, is very sturdy, easy to install and works great. It also swivels very easily. I would supply a picture but it is down today as we are expecting some wind and rain.
