Had it for 1 month and we love it. This umbrella has changed how much time we spend on the deck. It used to be that we only enjoyed our deck in the evenings due to the heat from the sun, now we can be outside any time! The functionality is very good. It’s sturdy and very smooth to operate at the same time. The handles glide smoothly with minimal effort. Very versatile, I like that you can adjust the angle easily so is not stuck in one position. Has good wind resistance. Of course you shouldn’t use any umbrella under strong winds, but it does well with light summer breezes. It moves a tiny bit with the breeze but I’m comfortable with it, bridges move as well, some flexibility is integral to the design. Don’t like that the base is separate, but these things run expensive, still cheaper than an awning attached to the house. The base was challenging to fill because the sand we purchased was moist and the holes are very small. The manufacturer should make the base is wider holes. I might do a review update after owning for longer but so far worth every penny.

We needed an umbrella for our lakeside dock and this one fits the bill! Along with the heavy-duty base, this one is a true performer. Very easy to assemble and super easy to put up and take down. We have had it up in calm weather and some breeze with no issue. Have not tested it out in any stronger winds. It looks fantastic and while it is heavy duty -- it really looks nice.

I really like this umbrella. It is FAR SUPERIOR to big-box umbrellas in build quality, sturdiness, looks and operation. I love the fact that it is easy to assemble (use two people, though. Don't do it by yourself). Mine is in a fixed location, right next to the pool so I can shade my in-pool table. If you don't plan on moving it around (unlikely since it is pretty large), consider making a permanent base for it. I am not a fan of water or sand-filled bases (esp for the size), and there are many in-ground DIY bases on Amazon. Pick one, dig a large hole, put the base in, level it, fill it in with concrete, and you're done. I thoroughly believe that you get what you pay for, and the Purple Leaf umbrellas certainly prove that. We'll be enjoying this umbrella for many years. Thank you, Purple Leaf!

Read all the reviews between Purple Lead and other brands and decided to pull the trigger on this one. Got to say, pretty good quality for its price (although not that cheap). Been using it for the past couple weeks and it's been holding up just fine. Not as sturdy as I thought, but we are using it on a rooftop cabana so the wind maybe stronger. Assembly is really ~10 minutes and not alot of parts you have to deal with. Only thing is that you HAVE TO BUY THE BASE SEPARATELY (for prospetive buyers), since it doesn't come with any. The base we got is the water/sand 200LB base, which is pretty good but quite expensive though (maybe you can look for alternatives).

We purchased our purple leaf umbrellas a few years ago. We absolutely love them. They’re easy to move and maneuver and they hold up well. However this spring we had an incident with a squirrel who decided our canopy would make a fine home for her nest. I reached out to Purple leaf about purchasing a replacement. They sent me a replacement canopy free of charge! It took 5 minutes to replace with an easy to follow instructional video. If you’re looking at this umbrella versus cheaper ones, I’d say the higher cost of this umbrella for its quality AND service is absolutely worth it!

Highly adjustable, lots of coverage. A little unstable in windy conditions, but hasn’t ever fallen over. Only complaint is that it’s fairy heavy and not easy to get into the stand without some strength.
