I have a commercial cleaning service that takes care of a few health care facilities/ offices/ military installations. I have been through the gamut with all of the vacuums (over ten years of "experimentation" .. Most demand is for daily - low pile carpet or flat tile flooring.. Also a ton of walk off mats.. .. Prolux has put together a winner with this Machine. I can't say enough good things about the quality and performance.. Not to mention a 7 year warranty! Suction is top notch.... Build quality is there... Customer relations seems to be quite personal and on point.. Keep up with your current business model and you have a new customer for quite a while.. I usually go through about 9 units per year... I plan on purchases all prolux. I am a true red blooded american ... but won't waste my money on poor quality tools; regardless of where they are made... My family drives Audi and Mercedes if that tells you anything.. The past 10 years or so Karcher Windsor Sensor had been the industry standard for vacuums.... the achilles heel; which has never been fixed is the power cord in the handle.. I have had 30 units fail because of this..... any who it was time to move on... ... show more

    • Wood floors...not so much.
I think the Prolux is a decent machine and made with better quality materials than most. Should last a long time.. Although somewhat overpriced. I have had a Kenmore Intuition for over 25 years. So I thought I would just get another one. Wrong! As they say, "They don't make 'um like they used to." I sent it back. Kenmore used to mean quality. Now everyone makes things so you have to buy another one soon. It's a shame we're in such a throw away society now. Anyway, the Prolux seems solid and a good vacuum that should last. Works fine on carpet, but wood floors.....not so much. It needs more height settings. The suction seems average. What I do like about the Prolux is the extention pole for ceilings. And the spinning apholstry brush works fantastic for pet hair! ... show more

    • Wow!!!! This vacuum is a powerhouse!!!!!
I have no idea how I lived without this vacuum. I vacuum a lot and even have a robot vacuum that goes around every day, but the prolux takes clean to a whole other level. Talk about suction!!!! It’s easy to move around, isn’t terribly heavy, and is pretty quiet.

    • Worst Vacuum Cleaner you will ever own
Many years ago I bought a Prolux vacuum cleaner and it last for 15 years and worked great. I loved it so much that I looked for the same model to replace it when mine finally went out. They didn't have that model anymore so I bought the Prolux 9000. It is horrible! You take out the wand and clean something then you put the wand back in the unit and it is a miracle if you get it to work. And even when you do finally get it to start sucking it is extremely weak. I've only owned it for 6 months and finally went and bought a Shark vacuum to replace it. The Shark vacuum is 100 times better than this Prolux. I'm trying to get the warranty department to fix it since its only been 6 months so we will see if that happens. I'll give it away if they can get it to halfway work. I have absolutely no idea how this vacuum got so many good ratings. It just baffles me. ... show more

I like this vacuum very much.It has great suction. I especially like the attachments. It is very easy to switch back and forth between attachments and using the vacuum on carpets. The one thing I do not like is that its hard to use on stairs. The rollers and suction do not work unless the handle is tilted back. I tried using the hose and attachments on the stairs but it did not work well. ... show more

    • Great Vacuum, but It's Not for Everyone
I've been very happy with the performance of my Prolux 9000 vacuum, but it has a few characteristics that you need to be aware of. The unit is much heavier than many vacuum cleaners on the market today and is not self-propelled. So, if you are elderly, frail, or have limited upper-body strength, this may not be a good unit for you to purchase. This unit is also not really the best unit if you need to carry it up and down stairs on a regular basis. On the plus side, it uses disposable bags (a VERY big plus in my experience with vacuum cleaners). It's also a lot quieter than my other vacuums and does a great job picking dirt up out of my carpet. One feature of the Model 9000 that's nice is its carpet/floor selector switch (not included on the other Prolux models). This switch turns off the rotary brushes, which is important when being used on bare floors. If the rotary brushed can't be turned off, then they will only sling crumbs & other debris around and scuff the floor's finish. Also, if you need to use the included attachments on a regular basis, I recommend purchasing a longer hose (FYI: the Prolux 9000 comes with an auxiliary hose port). ... show more

I received my new Prolux 9000 yesterday. Came with excellent instructions. Very easy to assemble and is a powerhouse right out of the box! I went to vacuuming immediately. Carpets, upholstery, lampshades, tables, curtains, baseboards, nothing was spared. All the on-board attachments were used. This is a quality vacuum with weight and self-propelled with a wide brush surface. Extra bags were sent, and motor never got over-heated. My carpets look new again and I'm remorseful for abusing them for so long. No more bagless, dusty trash resettling back on my surfaces. Worth every penny. ... show more

    • Made well, easy to set up
Liked the power of the motor and not to noisy. Liked the extra long cord and the fact that it came out of the machine high so couldn’t run over cord. Liked that it self adjusts to carpet however, I have a very thick carpet and it pushes away easily but to pull it back towards you is straining. Wears your arm out. Have not used on stairs so did not rate. Price of vacuum for what you get is very comparable to others that are like it. The free tool was nice but when I went to line to view the video it said unavailable. Quality seems very good. Have only used a couple weeks so maybe will update review after a period of time using it. ... show more
