Ok, long post alert but definitely an honest review: I read about the Skylight Calendar Max in the New York Times and wanted to give it a try. I am a super busy, working mom of 2 young kids, who is in full-time grad school and trying to organize their school schedules, play dates, activities, and more. I also have to juggle MY busy schedule and synch it with my husband’s so we are always on the same page. This is an IMPOSSIBLE task (as any caregiver or parent will know) and I was desperate to find an easier solution. $619 is a lot to spend but I figured it would be well worth the money if it gave me extra time and peace of mind. All I can say is: it is well worth it! First off, the packaging and interface are beautiful and very well thought out. It provides everything a busy working mom could want: calendar for all family members, easy list making, meal planning and a recipe box (that will import any recipe!!!), photos, reminders, and chore charts. It was extremely easy to set up; very intuitive and user-friendly. I barely had to look at the instructions. I hooked it up first and started using it to make sure I loved it before mounting it to the wall. I do love it and absolutely will be mounting it as soon as I get a free moment. The Skylight app is really helpful, as you can upload literally everything to your device from the app (even external calendars from iCal or Google so you don’t have to manually transfer them). You can take pictures of things you want to import and it will magically upload it to the device and integrate it into the proper place! The app really makes it easy to use the Skylight. It also allows you to send pictures directly to the device that immediately show up for a custom slide show. I appreciate its functionality and really like that you can use it horizontally or vertically depending on your available space. I also love that it negates the need for choosing special photos to get printed and mount because you can just have a continuous slideshow going at all times of all your special moments. It is actually a really great conversation starter for friends and family. I also like that the text on the calendar is so colorful and prominent. It makes it nice to look at and also makes it easier to point out tasks and chores for my kids. It looks really beautiful on the wall and has a very slim profile so it’s not bulky or sticking out from the wall. The ONLY fault I can find in the device is that sometimes when you send a picture to the Skylight from the app, it will show up in the app but not in thr “pictures” tab on the device itself. However, once it’s in slide show mode, the picture always comes up anyway, so it’s really not that big of a deal. Overall, I’d say that I absolutely love the Skylight Calendar Max and would recommend it wholeheartedly to any busy family to make life just a little bit easier.

I’ve had this for a month and it has helped organize our family. It’s very easy to set up and use, even to get it mounted on the wall quickly. I used to write our monthly schedule on a white board and did that every month. Now I have the calendar connected to our phones and the larger screen. We can see the details for each event and have it color coded to the individual(s) participating in the event. You’re able to set up recurring task/chores, add new items daily and track progress remotely. You can also assign points to different activities to work towards a reward. There is an ability to pre-plan meals and have recipes stored as well as create lists for shopping. When we aren’t using the screen it rotates thru pictures and we can set a sleep mode so it isn’t on at night. It’s fun to see the pictures that typically just sit on our phones and rarely get seen.

We got the Skylight Calendar Max to help organize our chaotic family schedule, and honestly, it’s been a game changer. The big 27"" screen is super clear, and I love that it rotates automatically depending on how we mount it. Syncing with our calendars (Google + Outlook) was way easier than I expected. The chore chart has actually gotten our kids excited about helping out, which I didn’t think was even possible 😅 The rewards system is a nice touch and keeps them engaged. The frame looks really nice too - not bulky at all, and fits right in with our kitchen! Set up took maybe 10 mins and the app is easy to use even when I’m out and need to make a quick update. Honestly couldn’t be happier with this. Wish we got it sooner tbh. Our mornings are way less stressful now!!

Fantastic for managing a busy family Bought this item because it looked good and saw it at a friend's house - it looks amazing on my wall and was easy to mount. It's been great to aggregate appointments and calendars across my kids and spouse and even my kids like to look at it to see what everyone is doing each day. It's also been a lifesaver because we've had no more miscommunications/conflicts and we've significantly decreased missed appointments. Very easy to set up and use, so that's a plus too.

We use shared Google calendars to organize my family’s schedules, but it wasn’t enough to keep us on track with everyone’s school events, activities, appointments, forms, uniforms, etc. I wanted a way for us to all review the week’s and month’s events without having to copy everything onto a paper calendar or have everyone looking at their phones. I was also very interested in a service that would transcribe and create calendar events from PDFs and invites. I had tried some apps but they didn’t work well. The Skylight Max has been a really wonderful addition to our home and has created calmer mornings. My husband and I look at it together while making our coffee - we can see the whole week at a glance, and it’s all in one spot. An unexpected benefit has been the routines and chores checklists. The kids use them on their own and are excited to check things off. It took us about 15 minutes to get everything connected. The Google Calendar sync worked right away and we haven’t had any issues. The screen is bright and big and mounting was easy with the instructions and hardware provided. The app is nice and intuitive and the Sidekick feature has done an excellent job of transcribing flyers from school into calendar events. So far I’m a big fan of the Skylight Max - it’s already making our mornings less stressful.
