I love these hammocks, but you need some super glue.
Style: Under Cabinet
I just came back and bought another of these 10 years later. First one is still in service, and I expect they both will be 10 years from now. I was torn a little on giving this 5 stars though, because there is a secret to these not falling apart. You MUST get some super glue and apply it to the ends where the rope wraps around. Run a nice strip of the glue down each spiraled rope so that it becomes solid and therefore impossible to unravel. They seem to have added some themselves now on the recent one I ordered, but it's still not enough. You want to soak a few drops into it so it hardens into a solid composite. This takes only a few seconds as the glue will react to the fibers almost instantly. Don't soak the loop or where the loops enter the spiral section. This would cause the rope to break later on since it would no longer be able to flex. I super glued the ends of the extension rope too, exactly the same way. Order a little glue along with this hammock and it will provide years of use with no fear of falling apart. In the end it's just not a big deal if you know this going in, or observe it right away as I did when I first ordered it. Not enough to dock a star. I'd give it a 4.5 Certainly if you don't do this step though it would likely come apart if used right out of the box which is a shame.

Spiffy place to corral stuff when underway

I like it. I've seen these in Cabellas (for lots more money!) and bought this one when I found it at a discount. The quality is pretty good -- although some reviewers had an issue with the knots I had none. The netting goes on the inner ring. Outer is for the (included) "J" hooks that you are supposed to screw into the bottom of a cabinet. Well, aboard Seaweed I have no cabinets so I got rid of their cheap hooks (okay, they are large, but not great quality) I live on a boat and as these are marketed to RVer's the lack of stainless hardware cannot be a deciding point in a review -- I'm not the target audience/buyer. Instead, I used some small stainless eye-screws in the overhead by my aft bulkhead. Then I added a braided nylon 1/8" 12-strand line and tied it the proper length. For me, because I intend to put fruit in it, that was not at the ceiling. Heat rises. Mine's lower, just above the microwave. You may wonder why this instead of a bowl. Well, I use my boat. That means I'm underway often. When the boat rocks I do not want things falling. This wonder basket allows me to corral items and they won't fall if the boat rocks. I like it. It looks spiffy too... not cheap looking. I am glad I bought it and would recommend it to other boaters. Someday I'll do so "officially" on my website! :)

Works great, noisy if you're using in an RV/camper van

This fruit hammock fit the bill for our van that we live in full-time. However, if you're using this in an RV/motorhome, note when the hammock swings back and forth while you're driving, the wood rod rubs against the metal hooks and makes a loud noise. We joked that it sounded like we had a seal or a donkey in our van. We solved this by wrapping rubber bands around the groove in the wood rod where the hooks rest. It also doubles as a paper towel holder by sliding the paper towel roll onto the wooden rod (only works w/ small rolls of paper towels, aka not jumbo size). Also the hammock (netting) part is a woven synthetic material, it's not cotton. I was initially disappointed by this however when a pear got completely crushed into the hammock I was thankful we were able to clean it off easily. On that note, some types of produce can't hang (pun intended) in this hammock, tomatoes, pears, peaches tend to get crushed/sliced by the netting. Again this is if you're using it in a RV/home on wheels situation where the hammock ends up swinging while you're during.

Perfect little storage solution!

I took the advice from other viewers and reinforced the attachments with some superglue. This is a nice little storage unit to hold a roll of paper towels and pantry items like grains in cellophane bags that don't stack easily. Holds a lot of weight! The only complaint is that the paper towels are a bit fiddly to replace on the roll, and don't roll out easily, they kind of rub against the string a bit - but that can be a real feature in a house where the kids are always taking way too many paper towels. Or you could replace the hanging string with one slightly longer to solve that issue. Love it!

iv had mine for a while now and it has fallen apart on me. its still usable but awkwardly. good for the price i guess. cant really complain for spending 11 dollars. very cute!

GARBAGE and will absolutely fall apart in a matter of weeks

Complete piece of sh!t. I am beyond mad about these. I ordered one, it broke within 2 months. I ordered 2 more thinking I would replace the one the failed and add an additional elsewhere in my boat since they are the perfect size and concept for what I need. Second one failed within a couple weeks in the exact same place and manner as the first one. Hung the third and guess what, less than 2 months later it is also failed in the exact same place and manner as the first 2. such a waste of my time and money and enormous frustration. FAILURE POINT: the side hanging point where the cordage meets and loops around the wooded down comes unraveled and drops slowly, eventually falling off all together. There is no way (reasonably) to wind and weave the cordage back together and secure the lash. DON'T BUY THESE, its literally the same as throwing money in the trash.

Looks nice, holds a lot of food!

With the intention of eating more fruit and vegetables daily, this hammock is a fun, affordable and well designed solution. The extension rope allows it to be hung from a low ceiling, a great option, though I prefer it under the cabinet. Rope is high quality, and though i've not had any spoiled foods or leaks make a mess, I don't see it being hard to clean. I generally keep a bundle of bananas, 3 apples, 4 pears, 2 oranges, and a lime or lemon in at all times, refilling from the fridge when necessary. Great for grab-and-go snacks when you're heading out, and as a beer lover I keep my various citrus fruits in there. No problems what-so-ever, definitely recommend over a bowl on the table!!

Perfect for small spaces

Because I have a small motorhome, storage space is at a premium. I hung the hammock to hold fruit and veggies, I also hung another one and use it for pot holders & napkins. I've had these hammocks for about a year now and one of them broke, the rope just frayed and fell apart. Disappointed but I'm buying another one to replace it.
