I bought this in Jan of 2020, it’s been outside in the weather for 3 years now and has worked flawlessly. Got a new EV this week, plugged it in and it’s still good to go. New car can take higher charging rates, so I might get a different one, but would gladly stick with same brand.

Fantastic! Love the long cord! I was looking for a level 2 charger that could reach the far end of our driveway in case I couldn’t park near our garage - depending if my other car was in my spot. This thing uses a thick cord, correctly rated for the length of the run and has a solid build quality of the transformer and the handle. I put my transformer box in a garden hose reel unit to keep it away from the elements and it gives me a way to store the extra cord when not in use. The only thing I didn’t like was the lack of heat shrink tubing or some other weather protectant over the connection between the converter to the pigtail going to the outlet. But that was a quick $6 fix with some big heat shrink tubing to protect the connection from the elements. ... show more

    • Will not work for a Toyota RAV4 Prime

Based on the product description, this should have worked for my Toyota RAV4 Prime. Unfortunately, the J1772 connector will not attach to the vehicle's charging port. I called Primecom.Tech, and the guy who answered the phone claimed the pins in the charging port of the RAV4 Prime were slightly thicker than those on standard ports that take J1772 connectors. I found that claim dubious, as I have had no problem with using public charging stations (those connectors attach just as easily as the one that came with my vehicle). Anyhow, he said the company obtained some connectors from the same manufacturer in Korea that supplied Toyota with parts, and he would send me a replacement unit made with one of those connectors. After a second phone call, several text messages, and almost two weeks of wasted time, I did not receive a replacement unit, and the guy did not respond to my two text messages asking for a shipment tracking number (so much for his claim that it would take longer to do an exchange through Amazon). I ended up returning the unit for a refund through Amazon and buying a different brand (which BTW fit my vehicle's charging port). ... show more

I love that it’s 50 feet!! I live on the second floor in a rural area, so I use my dryer outlet to recharge about once every 2 weeks for my schedule. It’s definitely not as fast as a supercharger, but it’s way faster than a regular 3-prong outlet. It takes about 12 hours to fully recharge from my dryer outlet, and 24 hours on a regular one. I store it in the bottom of the trunk underneath my other standard chargers. Fits perfect! Way cheaper on my energy bill than supercharging too. ... show more

Bought my first EV (Hyundai Ioniq 5). Needed a charger that would work on my unused dryer outlet. The cost to have a new line ran up to the front of the garage was way too much after buying the car. The extra length allows me to plug it into the back of the garage, run it through the garage, and even enough too not have to back into the driveway. It charges the car at a nice and safe rate and with my Solar & battery, I can charge the car for free: USING THE SUN (last picture). Compared to other units it seems expensive but the cost of having an electrician do a ton of work + moving shelving units along the wall…. Then having to spend roughly the same amount on a similar unit made this price a little better. Literally the only Con I have is the way it was wrapped took effort to untangle. Made me feel like that scene from Christmas Vacation where he hands the son the ball of Xmas light and says “hmm but of a tangle here” ... show more

I bought the product last July, and it has worked very well up until yesterday. I’m sure it was out of warranty, but a simple phone call (which was answered very promptly and with out any redirection) and David gave me very useful things to try. I wanted to wait at least a year to write a review. I have had this for about a year and a half and it works great. Sometimes it trips on a ground fault, but I don't think it is a problem with the charger. I do wish it had an automatic reset though after the fault clears, so it would keep charging.
