Not a large barn coop, more like a small coop. At most for 4 chickens not 8-10 chickens. Several split wood pieces making assembly difficult. Not worth the amount paid at best 150.00 coop paid over 500.00.

    • Ok, you get what you pay for
3 and 1/2 stars. It isn't bad, and you get what you pay for. Ours arrived intact, with a couple of broken parts that were easily fixed with some glue and a clamp or duct tape for a little while. Luckily, the parts were hidden after everything was put together. It took the family about 4 hours or so to put together, including time spent figuring out exactly where to position it. It looks nice, although I wouldn't use this as a showpiece, but as a cute place to put the chickens it works alright. We plan on keeping 9-10 chickens in there eventually, but we will add on a much larger enclosure for them to move around in. For sleeping and nesting, there is plenty of room for a whole bunch of chickens, but there isn't a huge amount of room for a lot of chickens to move around. Not all of the parts fit together properly. The roof pieces, for example, didn't go together quite straight (close, but the difference is noticeable when you look closely). Some the of the holes drilled for screws either didn't quite match or were missing. We just put the screws where they were needed, so everything came out ok. The nesting boxes are a little wonky, but nothing you would notice from 10 feet away. The instructions were relatively clear, but sparse. It took us a little while to figure out where some parts went. We ended up with the parts for the nesting boxes on the kitchen table, while three of us kept reconfiguring them until everything looked correct. Then I put in enough screws to keep it together while I went back outside to see how well it would fit in the coop. It worked, but it isn't the finest craftsmanship. We live in California, and the coop is actually going to sit under our patio roof so we aren't too worried about its durability. The material is light, but it will keep them out of the weather. I doubt it would fare well against large predators, but I think it will keep the raccoons out. I will definitely update this if it doesn't. So, in conclusion: It looks nice, although it isn't perfect. It isn't that expensive for a pre-built coop, and it was pretty easy to put together. Be prepared to jiggle things a little bit, and don't screw everything tight until you makes sure it all fits ok. We're pretty satisfied with it so far. ... show more

    • I would not recommend this set up
very cheaply put together and the wood is cheap as well... I would have returned it but I really needed it for my chickens.... will have to do my own repairs. I would not recommend this set up. too much $ spent on this for it to be this low quality

Deluxe?? really?? This is the poorest piece of crepe I have ever bought and I have bought several in the past years. Arrived with cracked and broken pieces. Wood is more like foam board. I am totally disappointed. Waste of money!!

    • Not built to last
Got this in 2018. Immediately recognized the materials are not for outside. I gave it thick layers of sealant and caulked every edge, corner, nook and cranny. 2019 it started falling apart and deteriorating in the weather. 2022 quit using it all together, currently a fallen over heap for the burn pile. Over $600 could have been spent on something meant to handle weather ... show more

    • Don’t buy it!
I didn’t purchase through Amazon but this was a complete waste of money. Half of the screws were already stripped upon receiving the coop. The arm to hold open the lay box lid punched through the extremely thin wood within a week. The roof leaks like a sieve and I had to completely rebuild the ramp because the screws pulled through the wood. It’s also very small. I have six chickens and only four comfortably fit. Save yourself a headache and buy a nicer product. ... show more
