I love this thermal printer! It was so easy to set up (only a few minutes, including downloading the CamScanner app), plus the Bluetooth connection was simple to establish and connects within seconds every time I've used the printer. I've had no compatibility issues whatsoever with setting it up with Android phones (Samsung S23 and Z Flip 6) or my Windows Surface Pro 6 laptop. The printer is light and portable considering that it's essentially a printer for letter-sized paper, has a rechargeable battery, and can hold a roll of about 20 sheets of thermal paper within. The CamScanner app that it works with has been easy to use. I have used it to scan and print, and I was even able to convert a scanned documents to pdf. I like that it comes with 1 roll of paper already, so I had everything I needed to get started once I charged it; it even comes with a travel bag. The printer itself only has 3 buttons - 1 power button, and 2 buttons on the sides of the front printer panel to pop open the printer to thread paper. I tried removing and replacing the roll of paper and turning it on and off again to restart. Each time, the printer had no issues restarting to print within second. I don't know how much charge there was on the printer's battery when I received the product, but it only took about 2 hours to get to full charge. I've printed about 10 pages and turned the printer on/off probably about 20 times, and I haven't had to charge it again. It has a battery saver feature as well that turns it off after several minutes of non-use. The printing has been quiet and resolution was acceptable. Note, however, that this is NOT a high-resolution inkjet printer, so don't expect to be able to print hiqh-quality images. I used it mostly for return QR code receipts and quick drafts that I didn’t intend for long term archiving. There are 3 issues I need to point out for this printer, starting from the most minor/nitpicky one: - When using a roll for printing, the printed paper comes out in that rolled shape as well; I guess that's to be expected, however. - At about $120, it would have been nice for it to come with a charging brick included instead of just the charging cable. - Speaking of that $120 cost, several other well-rated thermal printers from Amazon are selling for under $100, so the value proposition is not high at this price point. Still, for my first thermal printer, this has ended up being very useful and surprisingly portable, earning it a very strong 4 out of 5 stars.

I occasionally do volunteer work that takes me away from my office and my large color printers. This work usually happens in the field, where I use my iPad with a keyboard to take pictures and document items. The review of the work isn’t critical, but it would be nice to show the kids the documents being compiled from their findings in the woods. When I saw this printer and its portability, I realized it would be a great tool to enhance the experience. It's only black and white, but color printing is available later when we return. After working with the printer for a few days in my office, I found it to be a very good black-and-white printer. It’s not as fast as a laser printer, but that’s okay given the power source and portability. Setting up was simple once the app or drivers were installed, and I connected the printer to my computer via Bluetooth. A USB cable can also be used to connect it to a compatible desktop or laptop. The printer arrived safely, packed in a box with the user manual, a USB cable, and a carrying case. Like any battery-operated device, plugging it into a charger was the first step. Once it was charged and the app loaded on my tablet, I ran a few tests. Overall, it’s very easy to use with the app to send jobs to the printer. The best part is that paper is stored in the printer on a roll. You can also use fan-folded paper by feeding it in through the back. Focusing on the app for a moment, it's really well-designed. It functions not only as a way to print but also allows you to scan documents using the internal camera and perform OCR. Note, for full OCR and conversion features, you need to subscribe to the premium version of the app. There are many options available in the app, and I spent a few hours just scanning documents and experimenting within the free version's limits. In summary, after using it for a day, I appreciate its portability. I haven’t owned a printer like this in decades, and this offers a good balance of size, speed, and the ability to print in black and white while on the go. If I had to point out a downside, it would be the paper curl when using rolls of thermal paper. This is just the nature of thermal printers. It's a great printer at a reasonable price and a useful tool for portable printing.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from a thermal printer, but this CamScanner P1 Pro has been a pleasant surprise. As someone who’s retired but still handles plenty of paperwork—pet records, household lists, and the occasional Amazon return—it’s been a great addition to my home office setup. Setup was simple. I connected it to my iPhone and laptop without any hiccups, and the Bluetooth connection has been reliable. The print quality is crisp enough for everyday use, especially for black-and-white documents.
