I wasn’t exactly sure but am relieved upon receipt to confirm that it is both a level 1 and level 2 EVSE supporting both 240V and 120V AC sources. And even more pleasantly to discover their solution to supporting both. Having a collection of 5 or more EVSE now from the various EVs our family have owned and operated, I am very familiar with all the previous designs. While the most simple dedicated EVSEs, just support one input voltage and supply one fixed output voltage, the dual class versions have their own way to change their configuration. BTW, these are not chargers, chargers on specific to your vehicle’s battery configuration, highly customized for your vehicle. These EVSEs are merely the safety device that though a negotiation protocol enables and disable energy from the outlet to the vehicle. Anyway, this portable Level 1 & 2 EVSE with J1772 connector has the most clever and least overhead method of switching between classes. It has a default built-in NEMA 15-50 plug for 32A current supply to your car, but it comes with a 15-50 to 5-15 adaptor to remove one leg and reduce current capacity and provide ~1.4KW of charging power. It’s clever because it is essentially what happens at the circuit level, too. The difference between single and two phase power is using one or two legs of the supply power from the utility. The manual does mention about menu control for charging current, if it is not automatic, it would be a design miss. It should not be the case, hopefully. I will report back later when I get a chance to test it on a 15-50R receptacle to see if the switching is automatic or not, because that would be the difference between a 4 and 5 star product. For now, it is an excellent value for a convenient design five stars!

The set came with everything you need for level 1 and level 2 portable charging. It includes the main charging unit with 23 foot cord, a 220 to 110 conversion plug, instruction manual, and a storage bag. I like that everything can be controlled on the charger itself (a separate app is not required). Via the charger's screen, you can adjust the amp level and timer. The set is plug and play, no special configuration for your car - assuming it has a J1772 connector. The storage bag makes it easy to keep in your car and can function as a backup charger when needed. The on screen display is bright and clear, and changes colors depending on the charging status. At about 150 dollars, it is one of the more affordable chargers. While lower cost, the charger seems well built (good thick wire, sturdy charging connectors). I did have some trouble at first, but the seller was very responsive and was able to take care of all questions. Overall this is a well bult but budget friendly charger for your EV.

For EV owners without a dedicated wall charger, or anyone wanting a backup option for road trips and temporary charging setups, this portable unit keeps things simple. It comes ready to use with both a NEMA 14-50 plug for faster Level 2 charging and an adapter for standard household outlets, so there is flexibility depending on where you are charging. Setup takes very little effort: plug it in, connect it to the vehicle, and adjust the amperage if needed. The charger itself is durable, the grip is comfortable, the connector locks securely into the vehicle, and the long cable provides sufficient reach for various parking situations without feeling overly stiff or difficult to coil back up. The weather-resistant outer materials also feel appropriate for regular use in the garage or driveway. Performance has been stable on a 240V outlet with consistent power delivery and no noticeable overheating. This portable EV charger is a great thing to have for flexibility at home or on the road. It supports both Level 1 and Level 2 charging, and compatibility with J1772 vehicles is not an issue. It fits my car port perfectly and connects securely every time. The 23-foot cable is long enough to reach comfortably without needing to reposition the car. The build quality feels solid, the cable is thick and well insulated, and the connector clicks in cleanly. Switching between voltage levels is straightforward with a simple adjustment. As described, this charger is level 1 and 2, so if you are deciding to charge your car with level one, it's a little slow and only gives you couple miles in an hour, but if you are using level 2 which is 220v it's faster and you'll get 5_6 miles in hour. In addition, it fits moat EV cars and also comes with an adapter. Remember, this is a portable charger and has great portability because it's amall. Moreover, small screen in front helps you to track of voltage. Easy to use and compact.
