The charging cable that came with my 2019 Bolt started acting up. This was the least expensive replacement, so I gave it a go, and I’m so glad I did. The performance has been 100% reliable, and the details on the display are nice (albeit hard to read in daylight). NOTE: The charging speed options don’t exactly match those available in the Bolt’s charging interface; the highest option in the Bolt for a Level 1 charge is 12A, so you’ll need to set the cable’s charge to 13A. This works perfectly - it just feels a little weird. For the price, I’m extremely pleased with this purchase. And the inclusion of the rubber cap for the gun, and the carrying case: icing on the cake!

The description does say 'portable' charger, so I feel as if I have to give it four stars. That I can not turn this off without unplugging it from my 6-20 outlet so that I can disconnect the car has caused me to return this. Not being able to read the LED screen outdoors makes this almost useless and gets a star deducted. when changing the timer or amps, the LED color changes from a faint green to a dull red brown. terrible It does charge much faster than a level one charger, even on lower amps. I did not try it on a 110 outlet but even at 10 amps it was charging much faster than the L1 that came with the car. To change the amps i would have to unplug the charger, it isn't in a convenient place for me, then I would have to unplug the car, plug the charger back in, try to set it and then plug the car in and I was already done with this charger.

To be honest, I was a bit wary of buying this as it had a low review number and was reasonbly priced. But it had some nice features and the display was a plus. I own a Pacifica Hybrid and when the battery is at <1%, the factory charger would take nearly 12 hours to bring it back to 100%. I wanted a backup charger, hence I took the plunge on this one. I was happy to find that it would do a full recharge in about 8 hours. When set at the 16 amp level, the readout states that it is pulling 12.4 amps when charging. Needless to say, this charger performs better than the factory charger. The cord is more than long enough and appears to be a heavy weight gauge wire. The charger comes in a nice carrying case for storage and also includes a bracket for mounting the controller on the wall. I am very happy with this purchase.
