  • This is a hidden gem of a charger!
To be honest, I was a bit wary of buying this as it had a low review number and was reasonbly priced. But it had some nice features and the display was a plus. I own a Pacifica Hybrid and when the battery is at <1%, the factory charger would take nearly 12 hours to bring it back to 100%. I wanted a backup charger, hence I took the plunge on this one. I was happy to find that it would do a full recharge in about 8 hours. When set at the 16 amp level, the readout states that it is pulling 12.4 amps when charging. Needless to say, this charger performs better than the factory charger. The cord is more than long enough and appears to be a heavy weight gauge wire. The charger comes in a nice carrying case for storage and also includes a bracket for mounting the controller on the wall. I am very happy with this purchase. ... show more

  • Nice quality charger with lots of info on display and lots of flexibility both with amps and voltage
**Background:** We have 2 Toyota plug-in Hybrids RAv4 prime and Prius Prime. Currently, we use the Toyota factory charger. One of chargers stopped working after an electrical storm. It costs over $600 to replace. So, I've been looking for a replacement, and this looked interesting. This is a review of the BETUMODA Portable Level 1 & 2 EV Charger, 16Amp, 25FT Cable, 110V-240V. **Build quality:**The build quality looks good. The wire from the charger display to the plug is super thick. This can be charged at different currents and voltages depending on what you plug into (your power source). We are using the BETUMODA with a 20 amp 120 volt line. I really like this charger, the adjustability, and the data it provides. You see the Voltage and the current, temperature, Power (KW), and Energy kWh. They provide a bracket to wall mount a charger if you want. I don't have access to a NEMA 6-20 240 plug available to test the 240-volt capability. But having this capability is nice, so when on a road trip, if we have access, we can use the faster charging capacity. Charger also comes with a nice travel bag. The Toyota factory charger really only tells you one thing it's charging or it's not charging or something's broken. The BETUMODA gives you so much information which really helps you figure out what's going wrong or if you're plugged into a questionable power source. I think the value the info and the flexibility make this a five star. I can't get report on the durability, but I will update this review if something goes wrong or there's any significant issue. ... show more

  • Going strong outside
I have had this charger mounted outside for a few months now. It is charging my wife's Y. It's screen gives you information you otherwise wouldn't know, such as voltage and current. I don't use the limit setting but that may be attractive for some. I wilp say that in direct sunlight the screen needs some hand shade to read, but aside from that it is perfect. ... show more

  • EV Charger
Size: 24.99FT
Very slow charge rate. LED display is dim and not visible during day light. Started return.

  • Can it last the long haul?
Size: 24.99FT
I picked up this charger for a couple different reasons: I wanted more visual feedback on the device itself as to how the charging rate was performing, it had to be capable of Level 1 and Level 2 charging, and its advertised outdoor capabilities had to be solid. Plus: I wanted a spare for travel. I have an existing vevor level 1&2 charger for my BMW i8 and it works perfectly fine, it's just a bit lacking in real-time device feedback as to what's going on. It also synchronizes with a Tuya app, which seems to be the app that all these non-OEM EV chargers seem to use...except _this_ charger. It has no app whatsoever, so that is a big bummer because I'm able to build automations off of charging with with Tuya app (even though its about the least interesting app on my phone, at least I can get notifications when charging stops). The LCD screen provides a lot of information, as I mentioned, but even when viewed indoors, you really need to be eye-level with it to read the screen. It's off-axis visibility is really dim, and it will dim itself after awhile of charging or standby. A simple button press will return the screen to full brightness though, but I'd rather I didn't need to bother. It's charging capabilities are on-par with the vevor. There are multiple amperages you can choose whether you're plugged into 110 or 220. Mine is plugged into a smart splitter in my laundry room that automatically turns power on or off to the charger if my dryer is running and I've hole-sawed the drywall between my laundry and garage to run the charging cable out to the car. The threshold between the rooms are RV A/C power cord port covers and it looks and works well. The cable from the charger is actually just 21 feet, so I had to move the charging mount much closer to the garage wall than the vevor's mount to reach the car that the vevor's 26ft cable reached with no problem. Overall, its a cool looking unit, matching the style of my cool car. An i8 only takes 2hrs to charge via 220 from empty, but I don't think I would put this unit outside in the elements. There's just *something* about its construction that just doesn't give me a great feeling it would do well in a downpour. Inside it's running like a champ. No heat, it runs silently, and charges great. The price is great too, given the performance and info it provides on the device. It lost a star for me due to: shorter cord than I was expecting, there's no App that goes with it (even though it mentioned a "WiFi hotspot" capability once in the manual and said absolutely nothing else about it), and the LED screen, while informative and animated, suffers from off-axis viewing and dimming when it really doesn't need to. I'm still glad I picked it up, even with those shortcomings. ... show more

  • Great EV Charger
Size: 24.99FT
This portable EV charger works great as both a level 1 and level 2 charger. The Level 2 allows your vehicle to charge faster, but if you're in a pinch or don't have the proper outlet, you can easily get by with the Level 1 charging rate. I love the digital screen as well!

  • Works great. Just make sure you unlock it to start charging.
Works like it should. Have to make sure you read the instructions for the first time use or you will think it doesn't work. You need to unlock it by holding down the two buttons for like 5 seconds. Works great as a level 1 and level 2 charger. I got this to have at my work in case I need to charge.
