  • First impressions
Color: 75 Feet
This just arrived; we unpacked it and used it. We purchased this because our traditional garden hose (about 40-ft) was not long enough, and the metal screw end was deteriorating; when I tried to spray water by putting my thumb over the opening, it just came out the sides of the end. The plastic container is easy to open; it has a pre-cut area around the top that was nice and easy to open; the instructions are written on the inside of the paper sleeve that goes around the sides of the container, but we didn't read them (at least not yet): it's just a hose. We unwrapped it and pulled it out. We purchased a 75-foot hose, but at first, it wasn't much longer than the 40-foot hose (but we knew it was reported to expand). We turned on the water. I'm not sure that I was expecting -- possible that those hose would self-expand. Instead, I had to pull on it, but I was afraid of cracking the faucet, so while I watered the plants, my wife went down the length of the hose and stretched it section by section. This worked, and the hose was made longer. I didn't have any trouble with the nozzle; it's not very sophisticated, but hey, it's free. One difference to our traditional garden hose was that after the water was turned off, the water flow continued for quite some time. I thought that the hose might shrink down by itself, and it did somewhat, but not to the original length when we first unpacked it - this is not a problem; just an observation. I like it; we'll have to see how it holds up. It recommended storing the hose out of the sun; we did not do that with our traditional hose, and the traditional hose lasted for a very long time. But we did hide this new hose in the garage -- we couldn't quite fit it back into the plastic container. These are my first impressions. ... show more

  • 2-3 Year Life Expectancy
Color: 75 Feet
Love these hoses for their easy, light weight style and storage. I have 3 or them in different lengths. They are kept outside in Florida heat and sun; therefore, the life expectancy of the hose is probably compromised by our year-round sunny days. The first hose I bought lasted for about 2.5 years when -- BANG! -- it burst about mid-section. When they burst it's loud! Another hose has had a small leak about mid-section since about the 2nd month I had it, but it's still working after about 2 years. My 3rd hose is just a couple weeks old and no problems thus far. I personally don't like the spray end and have replaced that with a standard spray nozzle that gives more spray options (bought that on Amazon also). I do like these hoses much better than the flexible coil type hoses -- have had them in the past and they're not as flexible or easy to handle as these fabric hoses. I'm find with replacing every 2-3 years and will continue to buy these. ... show more

  • Generally like this product
Color: 75 Feet
After a few weeks I like this water hose for the most part. The biggest thing I like is that when the hose is disconnected to move it from the front yard to the back or vise versa, it’s very light and easy to handle. I can wad it up to carry it. A small disadvantage is that if you’re not using it at full water pressure it does not expand to its full length. So watering a small side yard is a bit of a challenge. ... show more

  • Mixed feelings
Color: 75 Feet
Not really sure how to express my experience, but I guess I can say it was part my fault that it did not meet my expectations. Quality and shipping? No issues Now, the thing that kills this product is and I’m still baffled by it is the amount of water flow restricted by the design…I just don’t get it. I thought it would be somewhere close to the natural flow but this is more design for the kids playing with water and you don’t have to water about the water pressure and somebody getting hurt or something. I’ll give it 4 stars because of the quality and my delivery but I feel the product is misrepresented. ... show more

  • Does two things well. Squirts water and expands.
Color: 75 Feet
I was surprised that I didn't like this product as much as I thought I would. My old expanding hose broke... I turned off the water and left it stretched out and it stopped working.. my fault. Anyhow, this hose was suppose to replace it. Here are the cons I noticed: - in order to stop the flow of water, you NEED to use the nozzle attachment they have. My other hose had a switch at the base of the nozzle which was WAY better for easily switching between uses/needs. For instance moving from sprinkling My lawn from a specific device that is on my lawn to a handheld gun like water sprinkler. With this hose, I would need to turn off the water from the spigot, wait for all the water to run out, switch attachments then start watering again, it's annoying. - similar to above. My previous hose, since it's an expanding hose, I would turn on the water flip the switch to stop the water, wait for the hose to fully expand, then place my lawn sprinkler. With this hose, thats not possible. I have to attach the sprinkler, place it as far as I can with the hose retracted, turn on the water, wait for the hose to fill fully fill then adjust the placement if the hose didnt reach originally. - the attachment to the spigot gets really slick when wet, I sliced my thumb trying to take it off. - the end of the hose opposite the spigot, the end you hold is poorly designed. I tried to twist to remove my hand held sprinkler and ended up twisting off the black coding at the end, and my sprinkler stayed firmly attached to the hose. - this hose is really heavy. I thought that was a plus. But it gets caught on EVERYTHING. It's really annoying because I think it's stuck, but I just need to really yank it. I'm no small person, and I feel like pulling it with the strength needed will break it. If you don't need to use any attachments with your hose and are fine with the nozzle they give. And/ or the hose length is fine in its retracted state, than this is for you. The water comes out the end, which I guess is what hose is suppose to do. If you want some flexibility in attachments and having the ability to stop/ start the water without their special nozzle, then look elsewhere. ... show more

  • Hose and nozzzle
Color: 75 Feet
The hose was very nice but the nozzle does not have a spray mist function. All it does is reduce the pressure on the force of the spray.
