  • Affordably priced, nice unit!
Style: Vent
We bought this stove to replace an old gas insert that was very questionably installed (and I was therefore afraid to even turn on). For the price, I don't think you can find a better looking or more functional gas stove. The look is very clean and goes with basically any decor. The logs are of decent quality and the flame pattern is nice. It was easy to hook up and convert from propane to gas. We didn't get a blower, but really don't feel it is necessary, as it keeps our living room very cozy. The unit is warm to the touch, with the exception of the front grate , which of course does get hot. I agree with other reviews about the controls...the photo makes them appear very visible, but they are actually quite discrete, set under the unit. My only critique is that while the control has 5 settings, we have really only seen it achieve 2-3 distinct intensity levels. The gas line has been dormant for a while, so we're not sure if this is due to air in the system, or the unit itself. But for the price, we are very pleased overall. ... show more

  • It works great.
Style: Vent
It works perfectly and keeps this side of my home warm. It has been very cold here 5 degree this morning and usually my water line on my washer freezes but not this year. It's a little pricey but completely worth every penny. Looks pretty too, have received a lot of compliments.

  • 1 MONTH UPDATE: UNIT HAS FAILED. Packs a lot of heat for its size!
Style: Vent
1 Month Update: Gas Fireplace does not light anymore after a month of usage. Pilot will light when overridden (knob depressed), but immediately extinguishes after a minute of depressing the knob. I have reached out to GHP Group and they will be sending me a new pilot light system. If the replacement part works, I'll update my review but as of now, I have a $400 paper weight in my house. Original Review: I live in a 1930 home where I have little insulation and drafty walls. My central heat pump cannot keep up with heating the home comfortably before turning on emergency heat (electric heat strips). As a result, my electric bill is high and my central air system running hard throughout winter. After installing this small unit, my central heat doesn’t turn on despite living in a 1600 SF home. This fireplace puts out a lot of heat for only 20,000 BTU! It’s the smallest gas fireplace I could find anywhere without paying a hefty price. Note the inlet for natural gas is 3/8” threaded pipe. Compared to a 1500w electric heater, gas is the way to go for affordability (assuming you have an existing gas line). At 20,000 BTU, I can run this for 5 hours to equal 1 Therm of usage which is 40-50 cents to operate. Cheap! The housing it made of thick gauge steel and the parts appear to be well-constructed. I will update my review as the system ages. I hope this unit lasts a long time! ... show more

  • thermostat location /should have a remote!
Style: Vent
the stove is awesome and heats well . I love it and would have given 5 stars except for the thermostat being under the stove and hard to get to. I am 71 and its getting a little hard to get down on my knees to adjust/light. If it had a remote with it, that would be awesome. Other than that it is well worth the money! ... show more

  • SO HAPPY 😊
Style: Vent
This little propane stove is amazing. I had a pellet stove for 10 years but I have a job now where I am gone for two weeks at a time. I didn't feel right asking my neighbor who takes care of my dogs to have to fill it. I went with this stove because it's ventless and it had a thermostat. It has worked great no noise no smell and it is keeping the house at a comfortable 72. I have been using it for two weeks now and it has really not used much propane. This stove is already cheaper to operate then pellet stove. The control knob is on the lower part but once you get it set to the temp you want you don't have to mess with it. I also want to add it doesn't feel or look cheap. ... show more

  • Awesome !
Style: Vent
Great little stove. Puts off great heat. Perfect for my sunroom which is approx 600 sq ft. Easy installation. Only thing was there is a threaded cap screw on the regulators. I did not see that anywhere in the directions. Also it takes a big T5, or stAr patterned wrench to remove it. Not just aN Allen wrench or socket I got it all installed real easily and pilot wouldn’t light and then figured out I I needed to remove this safety screw. Then she started right up. Heats room up quickly. Love the auto temp control. I have it set to around 2. And it turns on and off ass needed. Makes my 3 season room a year round room now ! ... show more

  • Heats SO Much Space!
Style: Vent
First of all this little guy is a workhorse! I had my own apartment built onto my mom’s house last year and I had an extra natural gas line patched into the living room, but didn’t get the fireplace until this year. The living room is downstairs and the gas line is at the bottom of the stairs. As you go up the stairs, the apartment opens up into a spacious half-wall that connects the kitchen, hallway, bathroom, and bedroom. Since heat rises, this little guy heats up the entire apartment no problem, to the point where I sleep with two windows cracked open because it gets too warm even on the lowest setting! It regulates itself well, and I’m so glad not to have to use the electric heating baseboards like I did last year. Still have yet to get my first gas/electric bill, but I’m sure I will be pleasantly surprised! Just a note: I did connect this to the gas line myself and have never done anything like it before. I couldn’t figure out why no gas was going through the line when I would open it, until I realized that the fireplace unit itself comes with a small threaded blocker attached to the connector that has to be removed and it doesn’t tell you that in the instructions. Simple fix and I felt kind of silly after frogging around with it for a while, but other than that just follow the instructions and you’ll have no problem! Enjoy! ... show more
