A weak core can lead to a variety of common aches and pains. So I am constantly recommending various exercises and equipment to patients, when developing their treatment plans. I've recently had several patients ask about the plankpad so I decided to try it out for myself. The first thing I noticed was the high quality, solid construction. The rubber padding on top is thick, comfortable, and durable. I also love that it has a handle on the opposite side! And a non slip rubber mat is also included, allowing it to be used virtually anywhere. Another unique feature of this plank board, is the corresponding app. It's easy to download and offers several basic games to help make planking more interesting - which usually yields in increased plank time. Compared to other products on the market, the plankpad offers more versatility since it can also be used as a balance board (which both of my kids love). This would be a great product that could be used for physical therapy as well as general strength and fitness training.

First I will say that I’m not great at planking at all, but that is why I bought this item. I’ve used it for about two weeks now, and I can plank a little longer than when I first started, so I can tell I’m getting stronger. The device itself is pretty simple. It is made from four pieces of plywood and had a very nice foam top. No complaints at all with the build quality. It also came with a thin foam sheet to go under the plank to keep it from slipping. I’m not sure that the plank is worth what I paid on its own, but the plank combined with the app it uses is definitely worth it. The app has a variety of modes, but I’ve really only used two so far. The video games are great and make the time go by much faster than just holding the position and suffering through the time. All of the games are based on moving left or right and holding at various angles, but they are unique enough to keep it fresh. The games hold your high score, so you know at the end if you beat your best workout. The other function I’ve used is the workout function which has you do an exercise for a specified amount of time. It had me do mountain climbers for 30 seconds, which again gives some variation and keeps you engaged. I haven’t tried it, but I did also see it has a challenge mode where it will give a progressively more difficult workout each day log your progress. Overall, I’m very satisfied with this purchase, since it is causing me to do a core workout that I would typically not be doing. Everything about this is high quality and although it seemed a little pricey to me, I’m very glad that I purchased this item.

I was looking for a unique gift idea for my son and his wife for Christmas and came across these in a blog somewhere. What a cool idea! After watching the video I decided to get one for my son and one for me and my husband, as well. They came quickly and were exactly as described. I immediately wrapped one for Christmas and got the other one out to try out. The download of the app was easy. The app itself is well laid out and very user friendly. The content needs built and it would be nice for the timers to be audible (or have a tone when they end) but I expect that to improve because it seems very well done. The board itself is incredibly sturdy feeling. The padding is thick and comfortable and I haven’t had any issues with discomfort on my forearms. It’s substantial enough that you feel safe standing on it. I store it in the box it comes in because it is a well made box with nice closure. We slide it under the couch when done. Now for the workout....!!!! Everything is sore. Everything. I love it. Both my husband and I downloaded the app and we compete back and forth by laying face to face with the board between us. The only downside to that sometimes we aren’t able to hold the plank as long because we burst into laughter. Who knew planking could be fun?! The distraction of the games truly does make the time fly by. We love how little time we need to spend each day to really feel a good, all over burn. We were missing a poster in one of the boxes so i reached out to the company. I received a reply the very same day asking for my address and then informing me the poster was on its way! I highly recommend!

I like being able to use the Plankpad to practice balance. It’s like standing on a see saw. Harder than I would have thought. It feels like I’m strengthening my feet, ankles and legs. I mainly want to strengthen my core. I do feel my core muscles being worked when doing plank exercises. The games do help add interest so as not to become boring.

I got this today and used it with in 5 mins of opening the box. It's very sturdy, well made! ALL you do is pull it out the box, download the Plankpad app and you're ready to go! The app has several games, and challenges to choose from. Even my 6 and 10 year old boys love it, I should have gotten two because they kind of took it over. Haha. But I was able to last 78 seconds my first try and definitely already felt it in my abs and arms! Excited about this product!

I was hesitant to buy this because there are other plank boards here on Amazon that look almost identical to this for cheaper. What I like about the Plankpad is that it is bigger than the cheaper ones, it looks like it has more padding and it comes with a floor mat. I like that it is bigger because I use it at my standing desk which really helps me stay moving. I just balance, do squats or try to stand on one leg. I can definitely feel it in my core just trying to balance on it. The plank/app part is really cool! They have a workout mode where you can pick your time and they have a video of different exercises to try during that timeframe, such as mountain climbers for 30 seconds. They have the games you can play which are pretty entertaining. And they have the 30 day challenge where you go on daily and it shows you how long to do planks each day. I try to do the games, daily challenge and at least one of the workouts daily. You also can screen mirror to your tv so you can stand while playing the games and see what you are doing much easier. I have not figured this out yet with my phone. Overall I really like it. If I was just using it for planks I probably would go the cheaper route but being that I can stand on this comfortably all day also, makes it worth every penny to me.

This is my first time using a balance board. My choice was between the plankpad and the stealth pad. I chose to go with the plankpad mainly due to the stealth pad having a shipping time of 3-4 weeks at the time I was looking to purchase one. The plankpad seems sturdy, I enjoy the app and the fact that I can use this not only to plank but to stand and balance while playing the games. I'm about 170lbs and it holds my weight just fine. The exercises included on the app are a plus. I don't have a smart TV, but my phone can be connected to my firestick and mirrored to play the games while standing and balancing. You will definitely notice your workout with this, i feel like i've just done a bunch of sit ups. This is the downside to the plankpad that I do not like. Straight out of the box the foam pad on top was already coming up at the edges. The glue holding it is very weak and with light force will come up from the board. I'm assuming this is due to the wood's finishing, the glue doesn't bond that well. The foam started to separate from the wood just from me taking it out of the box. I see myself having to be either extremely careful, or having to glue this part back down myself. And with a toddler in the house that means I know for a fact I'll most likely be re-gluing the foam down or having to replace it altogether if they get ahold of it since it seperates from the board so easily. Once I'm able to do a few of the exercises and balance myself pretty good I'll most likely end up buying a stealth pad.

I bought the #stealthgo and the Plankpad at the same time. I needed one to take on a trip with me so I thought the STEALTHGO would be a better fit but the Plankpad was way cooler more sturdy more comfy and easier to use. Plus I can stand on it and work my lower body and balance. It was much safer as well the #stealthgo almost bucked me off the first time lol I am amazed at how much longer I was able to hold a plank from the very first day and it’s great because it also gives you a chart on how to do modified exercises and encourages you —-the only thing I don’t like is that the challenge does not let you play games they should fix that. The games rock! No account needed just download app and you are plankin. BUY THIS NOW!! AMAZING FIND AND DEAL.
