Tested on: walnut, cherry, hard maple and teak. Will get dull a little faster then their heated counterparts. However for the first time in 5 sets of blade I’ve just rotated these and did not see a single chip in the blades. This usually happens with any other blades I’ve tried including original DW735 13” blades. Im going to use these from now on only, needs to be rotated just a little more often, but at the price point they are great. If you start questioning their performance then rotate/replace and go again with a fresh cut. 5 stars!

When I first took these out of the plastic storage container it came in - and realized the didn't pass the can-it-shave-off-the-hair-on-your-forearm test - I thought I should just put it back in the box and return it to Amazon. However, the blades that were installed on the Planer was toast and HAD to be replaced, and getting OEM blades from Amazon meant waiting another 3 days - I figured I'd give these blades a shot! And Boy-o-Boy ... Was I surprised !!! It shred through board-after-board of Paduk, Walnut, Purple-Heart, Red-Oak, White-Oak, Hard-Maple, Cherry without any issues whatsoever. I've only used it for a couple of days now, and I can't say how good it's going to be a month from now. But, given that it's 1/2 the price of Dewalt's OEM blades - I'd be perfectly happy if it lasts ATLEAST HALF as long as my OEM Dewalt OEM blades! Will definitely be buying more of these!

I've always purchased the OEM knives for my Dewalt Planer. Finally decided to try a less expensive set because I'm usually working with some real hard, abrasive woods. I just went through some really rough (straight out of the sawmill) planks to make "thin wood" boards for a couple projects. I rip them to 1/2" and plane them to 3/8". These blades are actually amazing. Planed Wenge, Red Heart, African Mahogany and a couple more species and these knives stayed sharp, quiet and no "tear outs". Final surfaces are amazingly clean and even. I like them!

For rough work these are fine. But there are a lot of marks left in the wood after running it through, so they will last as long as the dewalt blades I’m sure, but they leave a rough finish leaving a lot of sanding work to be done. I think I’ll go back to the dewalt blades after these as I value a good clean finish. I’m experiencing a lot of tear out with these too.

The blades certainly don't seem to stay sharp as long as the DeWalt brand blades that came with the planer. However, when you consider they are about half the price, it's about a wash as far as that goes. I am planing hundreds of old fence boards, so the chance of hitting a missed screw or nail is high. So I'd prefer to nick a $27 set of blades instead of a $50 set. But if I we're planing clean, new wood, I would probably go with the DeWalt brand as it does take time to switch them out.
