  • 30-Day UPDATE: Fantastic!
UPDATE after 30 days of daily use ... This thing is really a great tool for exercising your core. The people that are saying that it's too expensive for what it is, you can tape your phone to a memory ball, etc. ... They are missing the whole point! ANYTHING works if you actually use it and stick with it over a period of time. A lot of people invent exercise gadgets, and a lot of them are very ingenious. But they're only as good as the consistency with which you will use them. Ever been addicted to Planks? I doubt it. But this product will actually get you addicted to planks. I set my duration for 1 minute and 15 seconds. I keep the unit near my bed, so as soon as I get up, I have NO EXCUSE to not do 1:15 of a simple exercise to get my day started, and I love it. I would never do it if it depended on me staring at the clock waiting for it to be over. In my case, I do it again after I shower, then again when I get home from work, and a few times before bed (total 10 minutes/day.) There's no way I would have EVER done 10 minutes of planks EVERY DAY for a month without the combination of this product and its app. Those 1:15's add up, and I have read that multiple short plank sessions give better results than fewer, longer ones. That's the real unadvertised secret of this thing. After 30 days, I know my core is stronger. The evidence is my posture. I'm 56 years old, and I have had a few people actually tell me I have lost weight, but I haven't, at least recently. But I'm standing up straighter and stronger, and I don't even realize it. That's why people think I look better. Now, I'm going to bump up my cardio and try to get a six-pack. I like that they offer it at different price levels and countries of manufacture; I wish other companies did the same. It's nice to have that choice. To me, this product is worth every penny. Original Review ... Opened the box, installed the app, and started using it. Very nice product, quality build. The workouts can be pretty tough, depending on how long you go. Is it expensive? I guess so ... But it does take time and money to create and maintain the software, so it kind of makes sense. Could you use a piece of wood balanced on a rock instead, and steal their app anyway? Sure, but why? It’s a small price to pay for a great core workout. ... show more

  • Such a simple way to effectively engage your core! The portability of this model is an added plus
Style: Yellow Go
I am not an excercise enthusiast. I have always had a very weak core despite an athletic background through college. At 40, I'm trying to improve myself physically just a little, and I'm doing it with simple things I can do at home. To be clear, a lot of my effort started with losing weight nutritionally. So I'm at a fairly skinny but far from scrawny baseline at 5'9" 165ish. I bought this Stealth because I liked the idea - engaging your core by forcing yourself to be stable while planking. And I looked at cheaper versions and decided I should go with the quality brand with established, functional games to use. Stealth seems to have the best concept design for creating multi-directional instability that forces your core to keep you in place. If you're not picky about games, you don't have to pay a thing for the basic ones, and they're plenty engaging to keep you going for a couple minutes. I've started at 2 minutes a day - 2 minutes! I've even missed days here and there, yet in 3 weeks (I'm up to 3 minutes a day now) I can see some shape in my abdominal area that I have NEVER seen before. You can easily tell that it engages your abs from top to bottom. In my prior experience with traditional situps or crunches, my upper abs would do all the work, and I could never engage the lower ones. Not the case with this AT ALL. You can feel the fatigue from ribs to waist. Even when I used to be in good shape years ago and I could run forever, I never had any semblance of lines like I'm starting to see after 3 weeks of 2-3 minutes a day. Maybe this won't do as much for you if you're already a workout fiend, but if you want to start from scratch or limited core strength or stability, this is a great option if you're willing to spend $100 one time. The portability of this particular model plus a sale is why I bought it as opposed to the normal one that doesn't disassemble. It is perfectly stable so far with very clear instructions on how to assemble it appropriately. ... show more

  • Great workout but the app holds it back.
TL;DR version: Hardware great. Software needs some work. Super good ab workout. There are two components to this review and combined they give a 4 star rating. First: the hardware. It’s good. I have the pro model and it seems sturdy, well built and solid. The padding on it is thick and sturdy. The ball joint roles freely and this thing provides a HELL of a workout. My only real complaint: the emails you get when you order this. There’s a bunch of them and they’re all very cutesy about how the Stealth is “flying to an airport near you” and “your stealth has landed and will be placed on a box” etc. It’s overkill and I, personally, found it annoying. There’s even a link to a video about how to unbox it. You know, in case you’ve never opened a box before? Still, from a hardware point of view: solid 5 stars. The software is another story though. I’m running the app on a OnePlus 5 which is admittedly not a common android phone. But it’s running Oreo, has 8 Gigs of memory, 128 Gigs of storage and the Snapdragon 835. In other words it’s at least as fast as the Samsung S8… Yet the app is still slow to load. Once loaded the app is responsive and does provide a decent workout. Basically it puts little dots on your screen and you have to move a crosshair over the dots and hold it there for a few seconds. They tout it as being totally random. It’s not. It always starts in the same area and follows the same placement patterns. Exactly where the dot is placed is randomized but only the defined area it will be drawn. For example: the first dot is always on the right side of the screen, about in the middle and never very far above or below the middle of the screen. The next dot is always on the left bottom area of the screen. It does work but it’s not as great as marketed. The game has one mode. It provides a decent workout but it’s not very interesting or exciting. They hint at more modes soon but apparently that’s been a thing since it was announced. The only compelling reason to use their app instead of some other motion based game is your personal scoreboard and the global leaderboards. It is cool to see how you’re progressing from the first time to later on. The leaderboard only shows the top 200 people and there isn’t any clear or obvious way to see where you are at or if you’re even on it. Another concern is that there doesn’t seem to be any way to prevent people from just holding the phone in their hand and “gaming” the app. There are folks with fairly high scores in fairly short periods of time. That makes me wonder how accurate the boards even are. The last issue I have with the leaderboards is that there’s no way to see if you’re on them. You can filter them to include your gender and age range, yet even when you do that there’s no indication if you’re even on them or what your score actually is. It makes the only compelling reason to even use the app almost pointless. You need to be competitive to care about the boards, but then they made it hard to see if you’re on them? For the most part these gripes are minor issues. Small things like graphs to show your progress or a way to find your personal score… but those small things are missed opportunities and make the app feel like maybe it’s just a beta. The lack of modes or anything interesting doesn’t help. Software: 3 stars. It works, it’s just boring and feels unfinished. Overall: I like the Stealth. It’s provided a really solid couple weeks of ab workouts. The app is lacking but the good news is that apps can be updated. The hardware itself is rock solid and I have no complaints or concerns. ... show more

  • Wow, actually fun!
Style: Yellow Go
Upon unboxing: Nice! Attractive looking piece of equipment. Easy to put together and take apart, fitting easily in a bag. Fun and wow, what a work out. I need something to help me be physical through the winter, and at 50, I can really use the pelvic floor exercise that planking provides. I did a minute and a half in a modified plank, and I can't believe how much I felt it, but I could have easily gone longer because the game was fun. I also bought the stealth cycle to complete a full body core and cardio workout. I hope that the games keep me engaged. I will update as I us the item. ... show more

  • Fast effective core trainer, even without using cell phone games.
Even without using it with the cell phone games, this is the most effective core exercise I've used. Plank position on pads for forearms, on a pivot, forcing micro-balancing with all core stabilizing muscles. Once you learn to balance on the pivot, you can train in three axis - horizontal, front to back, side to side. Takes less than a minute a few times a week to make a difference. ... show more

  • It works if you use it
i've used it (nearly) every day for the past three years, five minutes per session, and it's been transformative. The only caveat is that you have to use it -- looking at it in the corner won't do your core any good. after giving up (a lot of) coke zero for water, this is the second good habit i've been able to adopt in the past few years, and if you're looking to start in on good habits, this one is the perfect place to start. ... show more

  • Challenging workout - not sure about games or form
I am a workout addict. Swimming, yoga, weights , spin and which includes almost daily ab workouts and I have ab definition so I thought this would be a breeze. I was wrong! It’s a tough workout for abs and upper arms but also it gets your heart rate up too - I definitely feel it now!! Though I liked it at first - the angle it creates is not quite that of a standalone plank. If you watch videos of this being used, there are a lot of odd stances - and though you get a significant core, arm and lower body workout - I immediately noticed a trigger in my lower back - one that I do not get with a regular plank / plank push-ups etc! After three days of use I got a muscle strain - and again I have a strong core that can hold a long plank with no effort - so a few days of refraining from this and I was fine - and back to being able to hold a plank work no issues so I sent it back as for me it does not create a safe form ! There are a lot of complaints about the app and free games! Yes there are just a handful - I have 4. There are also workouts via their Facebook page if you want them. I did find the apps glitchy and they would freeze which was independent of any internet issues If you need a lot of games and distractions this might be a fit but I am happier holding a regular plank than playing these games and risking injury ... show more
