I've used other balance boards, like the Bosu and Yes 4 All's wooden board. I purchased this board because I was looking for a greater challenge. This board is definitely more challenging than the other boards I've tried. I'm pretty advanced on the other boards and even use them while typing all day and doing various one-legged yoga poses and weight lifting moves. On this board, however, I'm a beginner again! I definitely recommend starting on either thick carpet or grass. I thought I would be able to master it in a week and start using it at my standing desk, but I think that would only result in me taking out the cubes next to me! If you're looking for a greater challenge, then this is definitely the board and roller for you. ... show more

Because this is a Christmas gift (I actually ordered four of them!) I haven't tried it yet. But I can tell you that they arrived in a timely manner, were well packaged and looked well made. It is hard to find cool gifts for young/mid teens, especially boys, but I predict that my guys are going to love these. I got them each one so they could keep them in their rooms, or bring them out to the family room for some friendly competition. P.S. I also bought them boxing gloves. I have gotten a lot of use out of this, but the stops don't work very well. With most balance boards, when you fall, it's because the stops on the underside have locked onto the roller and you can't get it to roll back. With this one, it will fly right past the stops and you are on the ground faster than you know you've fallen. I was also looking for something that can be used inside or outside, and this definitely can't. The roller is coated in felt, and the board is coated in a soft foam rather than a gripped material. It's fine if you don't need to use it outside, but overall a bit of a safety hazard and overpriced for what it is. ... show more

I really love this simple sturdy board and got it to add to my fitness routine as well as help with staying in shape for snow boarding in the winter. It's well made and the roller (a solid plastic material) looks like it will definitely last a very long time. There are really many things you can do with it as far as fitness, and a search on YouTube videos will give you tutorials for many ideas (also for board tricks if you're into that).. I'm in my 40's and just into the fitness. If you practice on a carpet or a mat, you'll have no fear of flying off like a Tom and Jerry cartoon. LOL! Also, the underside of the board has durable fixed stoppers for added safety (photo provided). I definitely recommend getting this board! THANKS REVOLUTION 101 TEAM! ... show more

This board has been nothing but great!!! I often read articles for class while standing on it. Any bad reviews that have been posted are due to people injuring themselves. Its a balance board you may clearly injure yourselves while using it, just use your common sense and be careful and you will be fine. I use mine on a concrete floor and have no problem. Its also my first time ever using one and trust me I am not an athlete. While yes the board can move to the edge of the roller all you have to do is be careful and eventually you will be able to learn how to adjust the boards position while you are still on it. I have never injured myself while using it, i have almost fallen twice though that is due to my trying to learn new things and pushing myself. This board is great a little pricey but I would buy it again. ... show more

I have been pleased with my new Revolution Balance Board. I purchased it as a tool to help me re-learn the elementary balance skills that I lost over time to aging and peripheral neuropathy. Exercising and wobble boards are becoming boring to me. So, I decided to try something that would be exciting, risky, and inspire me to aspire. It has only been a few days, but the Revolution 101 has exceed my expectations. Even though I started training a few months ago, my sense of balance is poor, I have to start with the very basics to use this board. But, with the help of some YouTube basic balancing exercises and balance board training material (from a competing brand), I am having a blast. Great product! Well made and looks fantastic. I have used balance boards for years and decided to upgrade to this device after trying one at a skate camp I attended. I was immediately hooked and had to have one. It's fun to use with a wide variety of challenges for the user. I have noticed in the short time that I used this that my hips and core feel solid. This translates into stronger skating and xc skiing technique. Use it barefoot, with shoes or try it doing planks and push ups. It's exhausting but it works you out well.
