If I could give this zero stars I would. I have been using PetSafe’s ScoopFree self-cleaning little box for years and this most recent litter box (the upgraded/ new edition) is absolutely awful. Out the gate, the hood doesn’t properly fit onto the housing, so it juts out on one side or the other high. Normally I wouldn’t care about except for the fact that I have an arthritic senior cat who tends to pee on the sides of the litter box: enter pee running down the sides of the box because the hood won’t attach as advertised. Next up is the clean up with this model: while it looks elegant and spiffy, there are noticeable gaps between the hatch cover and the sides of the litter box. When you go to replace the trays loose litter falls everywhere from being kicked into and underneath the hatch cover. Now for the best part: after 4 months the arm has completely stopped working. I’ve done soft and hard resets, removed the arm, unscrewed and attempted to fix the mechanics to no avail. So here I am, 7:45pm with a screaming newborn, a hyperactive toddler, two senior cats who need to use the restroom and a broken, brand new litter box. Save yourself the money and get the old version if you can find it.

My biggest complaint about the cat is the litter. Like everyone, I have to scoop it, it smells, and EVERYONE knows when it has been too long since the last scoop. This works great! No smell, scoops quickly, and did I say no smell! I think I should be able to get almost a month out of it before changing the box, and then it's all contained; you don't have to dump it out, just throw the old box away, and a new one goes on. I like the enclosed design because it gives the cat more privacy (and I nor anyone else wants to watch him do his business!). Great product so far!!!

This litter box works great and makes it easy on you to not have to scoop every day. My cat wasn’t a fan of the crystal litter though. It took quite a while for her to get used to it but now that she is it’s great. Makes cleanup easy and it’s a very sturdy litter box. It’s very expensive and quite the investment but worth it in the long run.

Do NOT buy this litter box. We’ve owned every single iteration of this litter box and this is by far the worst design. In order of issues: • The hood leaks if your cat pees anywhere near the seam where the hood meets the box • Poop gets stuck behind the rake. Older versions laid the rake back when at rest to keep this from happening • Pee leaks out of the front corners of the box due to the movable flap design at the entry of the box • The rake SQUEAKS LIKE CRAZY on the track. Like, unbearable hear-it-across-the-entire-house sound level • The box does not sit well on top of the trays, often leading to pee or poop getting pushed out of the box due to ill fit We tried everything to get this to work, but nothing fixed it. The older versions of this litter box are far superior in terms of the design for the hood, the flap, and just general usability. Do not buy this version under any circumstances.

It was easy to put together. Since i put it for my mom cats, it was great. Smell is barely noticeable. It cleans well the poop and pee. Low noise. Perfect size. Great quality. I feel it was worth to invest in for our cats.

I'll give this a 2, only because it seems to be good litter for oder control. Other than that, I would not recommend it. If you're looking for a litter box that cleans the waste for you, this is not the one. After every sweep, more time than not the litter just sweeps back and collects behind the rack and the litter doesn't last as long as described. Total failure.

One of the worst purchases of my life. First off, this thing is crazy expensive. As most of the other reviews note, the 'estimate timelines' for how often you need to change the litter are just outright wrong. I have two healthy, small cats – and after 7 days the poop catch is overflowing, the entire box is disgusting, and the smell is overwhelming. You will need to replace the litter MUCH more often than you think. Then I purchased the reusable litter tray, in hopes of reducing waste and saving some money. This thing is absolutely useless. Because the litter doesn't clump, it just mixes with urine and sticks to the bottom of the plastic. Such a hassle to clean – and because you have to do it so often – might as well go back to an old fashioned, non-self-cleaning litter box.
