It does provide shade however I wish it blocked more sun. The double layer webbing they boast is not accurate. It's single layer so felt misled and a bit disappointed about that. It's not water proof as the picture claimed. The material stretches and sags. The D-rings are already rusting. I bought my own hardware (turnbuckles, carabiners (sp)), and used braided cable instead of the rope they provided. I also would have preferred the rectangular shape. No water proofing tape on the seams as they claim. I ordered beige and what I got was some sort of very odd cross between pink and white. Also, the measurements given do not completely cover or provide shade for that amount of ground area. For example, 16x16 will not give you 16x16 feet of shaded area; this is because of the curved inward sides. The stated measurements are for corner to corner, as they do state. But it doesnt hurt to be fully aware of this. I feel that most people will order this based on their measurements needed and not with the added awareness that they need to add to those measurements. ... show more

Great stuff. Worth the money. Mounted it quickly with the 4 included brackets: 2 on the house using concrete screws, and 2 on the fence posts using stainless steel screws. Then used D rings on the house side, then ratchet ties on the fence side. Crank and done. Easy quick release too for hurricanes, whatever. The color is cool, it does a good job blocking sun. Purchased 3 of these in September 2020. They protect our outdoor living room where we spend about 50% of our time - year round. These do an excellent job of keeping us dry and our things protected from the elements during the rainy season. A year later, one of the sails ripped while I was tightening it up. I emailed Paradise Patio and they responded almost immediately. One week later, I had a new sail at my doorstep. It's great to report there are still companies out there that stand behind their products and offer complete customer support. I owned several other brands of sails. This rectangular, waterproof, sun shade is exactly what we were looking for to cover our 10x20 cedar deck. The difference in temperature is dramatic walking under it after being out in the yard - and that's without a fan. Once i get a fan out there, I suspect it will be comfortable no matter how hot it gets this summer. As for the color? Wow. The picture attached was taken at noon on a cloudless 90 degree day, and the color is really intense. I'm thinking I should have gone with a white/off-white, and may end up moving this one to make a cover for the extra car and replacing the red with something less red . . . but i will definitely be buying another and recommending this to my friends. This is a well made shade sail. D rings are strong. Has weather proofing at the seam. One major tip for installing - make sure the seam that is on top overlaps as it descends. So the rain doesn’t run into a backstop. I installed backwards and it leaked. That may be other folks problems with a leaking seam. Get some turnbuckles. That really is the only way you can get this thing taught. ... show more

It’s a very nice fabric. It’s very durable. But it’s really a glorified tarp and NOT a sun shade. The primary difference being that it’s entirely impervious to water flow which makes it entirely unsuitable for storms (unless you have some very specific and uneven Mount points). I did the very best that I could to install it at a sufficient enough slope to allow water to run off. I even shimmied a good 25’ up my pecan tree to create an anchor point. You can see in my photo that it didn’t matter. It still filled entirely with water in a storm eventually snapping the cables and crashing down. It’s a really nice tarp, but probably not what you are meaning to search for based on it’s title. ... show more
