First, let me just say Amazon's order processing and fulfillment were outstanding as they have always been for us. We got the outdoor heater in time when we needed it. Unfortunately, the product itself has major safety flaws that are very important to me. I'm not sure what other's got but the regulator connection that came with this was a straight line connection (as opposed to "L" type) which made it almost impossible to fit within the metal casing once connected to the gas tank without kinking the hose which is very dangerous. I had to let the hose stick out in one of the large holes of the case just to make sure I don't kink it. It's interesting because the picture in their manual was showing the "L" type connector so I was really disappointed with this. Secondly, the base of this heater does not have the "sandbox" or "water box" that allows for added weight for stability, instead it comes with brackets that need to be anchored to the floor to prevent it from tipping over. I understand the gas tank is heavy enough to hold this thing down but you have to remember the tank will become light as it loses its contents. There will also be times when I need to move my gas tank between this and my outdoor grill specially during summer when I don't need the heater. A good amount of wind will definitely tip this thing over if it's not anchored to the ground which I could not anchor in my case without major work because my patio floor is concrete. As far as the burner, the ignition and the amount of heat it produces, I didn't have any problems with those, but for those 2 safety issues I mentioned I am returning this product for a refund. I was little reluctant to buy this heater being nobody had reviewed it yet. However, I took the plunge and am very happy with my purchase. The price is amazing and the quality is good. Easy assembly and fast 2 day delivery.

I’ll start by saying this is my first propane heater. Spin arrival it was packed nicely with no damaged pieces. It took me roughly an hour to put together. The instructions made enough sense until you got to the top part. It comes in 4 sections and I had to mess with it a bit to get them lined up correctly. I was close to making this a 5 star review but I was disappointed that the unit doesn’t have a built in weight, such as a sand filler to weigh it down. It gives you anchors to attach to the patio. I decided I didn’t want to drill into my patio concrete since I like to move it around. The heater does come with wheels so I purchased a sand bag and a waterproof bag to put sandbag in. I placed the sandbag on top of the wheels and haven’t had any issues with it being blown over. We had strong winds and it wasn’t budging. As for the heater in use, I couldn’t be happier! It heats our whole patio up and we get a lot of complements on it. Our friends are shocked when we tell them how much we paid for it. Also after searching other models this was one of the few that didn’t have an issue with the heat screen warping/melting. Background: My family was having the good-ole annual Turkey Day reunion with about 25 or so relatives. The forecast had a cold front moving our way with temperatures hovering in the low-40s during the day and mid-20s at night. We have a steel fire pit outside but due to the forecasted rain; i couldn't take the chance. So i purchased the FDW Outdoor Patio Heater Tall Standing to place under on patio. This heater worked like a charm! It provided enough heat for 8-14 of us to enjoy staying outside late into the night. I also ended up purchasing the cover for the stand as well to protect it from any rust/dirt daubers that may degrade it during the offseason. It easily folds and stores. ... show more

This heater is quite tall, but I suppose that’s relatively standard. It is easy to get started and produces adequate heat to use on a small-medium deck (outside). I have not had any issues with stability in high-winds, even with an empty tank. Flame has blown out a few times in light wind. It’s not too heavy, and can be rolled easily- but actually picking up and moving far away would be a burden. My one wish is that the heater was a bit more Portable: for example, I’d like to bring it to a friend’s for a party, but I just don’t think it could be partially disassembled to be transported without a headache. Feel the heat! This is the heating lamp to get if you want to warm up any area. We have a screened in room that we added clear plastic curtains too. Here in New England this heating lamp keeps the room so hot that we turn it down to the lowest setting and Im talking during November here!
