Didn't come with ANY predrilled holes. So according to instructions, once ypu get it mounted youre supposed to be able to screw everything in. NOPE. And it's too high to get any leverage to put your bodyweight behind the drill to make your own holes. I want to take this thing and throw it into the lake. Initially had some problems. The predrilled holes were on the wrong side of the framing. The framing itself was not cut flush. The bolts were too short to fasten through the framing. That being said, the people at palram did send replacement parts. Still had to go the hardware store for some fasteners. Thought for almost $500 this would be a little bit better product. We had our handyman put this together and it took him about an hour and a half and it really looks beautiful and we’ve had it about two weeks now and are very happy with it.

I give 4 star mainly because assembly instructions is written poorly, and assembly is medium/hard. The spec was obviously originally written in metrics. Don’t trust their US conversion because they are wrong. Just use the metrics number and do the conversion yourself and you’ll be fine. Assembly requires 2 people and quite a few hours to make sure everything fits. I saw previous comment says there is a gap. I suspect it’s because they didn’t adjust those tracks, which takes some time but they will eventually all come together. The final product looks amazing. Lots of compliments from neighbors. Saved us a lot of money because we didn’t have to order a custom awning and have people install it. Overall we are happy with the purchase. ... show more

folks, you'd better have a good handy man to assemble this one. it's truly tough to assemble. it costs me the labour of 3 handy men to assemble at high cost. Final product is not worth 800 considering it is plexy glass and thin metal. I contacted the vendor for refund and was dealt with extreme stupidity and ignorance to what vase I was making. They claim the glue I applied was the reason and evidence that I didn't know how to assemble this rocket ship! Glue was applied 2nd time after frame kept falling with heavy plexiglass sliding outside the thin metal frame gap . I can bet there was no load calculation done or modeling of the frame and its ability to hold weight. There is an inherent design flaws. In summary, purchase at your own risk. Have an army of handy men with 2 tall ladders . Pray... ... show more

When assembling this awning, it became obvious that the panels provided did NOT extend completely enough to fix the frame (see pics). Perhaps one of the panels, a broader one, was not packed correctly. I am having a new panel cut by a specialty company so as to close the gaps for $50 more than I already spent on it. Otherwise it is as good as it looks. The 5 point mount is clearly preferable in an environment that has it's share of violent storms. ... show more
