I decided to leave the automated cleaning turned off for the first day so that the cats could investigate and utilize it without being surprised by anything. The fact that it did not seem like a confined area that they were required to commit to was a significant factor that contributed to the success of that shift. By the second day, both cats were using it in a regular manner, so I activated the self-cleaning feature and began paying attention to how it acted in real life, rather than simply in a demonstration video. When there were several cats in the same space, the weight sensor safety protection was the feature that was most important right away. When a cat walked back to the box, I witnessed it hesitate, and it did not proceed until the area was once again free of any obstructions at that point. That instilled trust in me to allow it to operate on its own, even while I was not physically there in the room. Having two cats means that there is almost always someone who is interested in seeing them, and I did not want a system that required me to monitor each and every cycle. The control of the application turned out to be the second significant enhancement. In order to give the litter some time to settle down before the box ran, I decided to establish a small delay after each visit. As soon as I discovered the optimal time, I saw that the outcomes were substantially more consistent, particularly when one cat used it immediately after the other. I also loved receiving clear status updates, which included information such as when the cycle was finished, when attention was required, and when the garbage needed to be emptied. What I wanted in the first place was for the routine to be predictable, and the app made that happen automatically.

So I saw someone say this litter box is loud there’s a bit of a sound but it’s not loud at all I love the size I have 5 cats as long as I cage out the bags everyday there hasn’t been any issues I keep a air purifier next to it in my living room so there’s no smell so hope that helps some one also my cats are very large so it’s just perfect my cats do scoop litter all over the floor but I could get a hard litter mat to help that issue

Let me start by saying I'm happy with this product in general. It works as expected & my cats transitioned to using it fairly easily. Now here's what I don't like so much...the motor for the rake is a little louder than expected. Initially one of the users (we'll call her H) was afraid but after seeing that her co-user (we'll call him R) survived using the box & wasn't attacked by the *thing* she successfully used the box. What I really wish is that the sides of the box were a little higher because R likes to dig & then being an overachiever kicks lots of litter around to be sure his business is covered up. I've come to the realization that I'll be vacuuming daily (boo). For the record I also purchased a Litter-Robot & H was terrified & has refused to use it still two months later. So....I'm generally happy that the Robotail is more acceptable to her but gave 4 stars because now I'm vacuuming daily.
