What a lifesaver this self-cleaning litter box has been. Very easy setup right out of the box. I have 3 cats that I got really tired of cleaning their normal little box up to 4 times a day. I love the open concept as opposed to the enclosed self-cleaning litter boxes. It uses a rake style concept to clean, which is much better than the enclosed ones that turn and a higher chance of problems. The open concept works so much better for larger cats. My 18lb cat did not fit in the typical round enclosed self-clean litter box. No litter mess or smells; it comes with a few deodorizer, which is not too overpowering in smell. I empty the tray every 2 to 3 days sometimes longer. I also love how it weighs your cat each time. It has been working as intended with no issues so far.

Newest: I cannot in good conscience recommend this auto litter box. It’s basically like just having a regular one. The amount that gets gunked up, while using their brand of litter material and liners, is untenable. It cannot handle half of one kitten’s business. (She’s 10 months, but still only 7 lbs. And she has a second box upstairs that she uses even more than this one.) Super disappointed. Don’t bother with it. Up date: I have one cat. Kitten, actually, 8 months. One. AND a second litter box upstairs. This cannot handle half of one kitten’s business. It backs up, jams, and gunks up. I keep up with it and clean it every 3 days. It’s advertised to handle multiple cats; I just don’t believe it. Plus, two weeks ago I found MOLD in litter reservoir. I use the liners as advertised, change it every 5-7 days. (Again, one small cat.) Mold. Using the litter they recommend. I’m just disgusted. The weight feature and text notifications are nice. But basic functionality, not so much. Original: All of the advertised features work. I like the phone app compatibility and the weighing each time. The interface is easy to use. For the value, I’m happy with it. It was really the only module that fit in the cabinet I’d already bought, but worked out well. I just have one cat, not sure how it would stand up to more than that. She’s only 6 months, too, so I like that I can remotely control the cleaning while she adjusts her curiosity around it. It can’t get every single piece out since it doesn’t scrape the bottom or go to the edges. The bulk is taken care of, though. Again, for one small cat, it works. That’s all I can attest to. Happy so far, though it’s only been a week. I’ll update on longevity.

Works great mechanically. There are two issues that keep this self-cleaning litter box from being perfect. The first is that the clump sticks to the rack when a cat pees next to it. The pee clump won't drop off until returning back to its stationary position leaving a trail of smaller clumps along the way. This happened three times in less than a week. The second issue is that the waste piles up in just one area of the box if your cat squats in the same area which my cat does (on the back side). The piles of waste stacks up in the waste box and the rack just pulls it back into the litter box when the waste box is only a third full. The item was returned without question.

This is the 3rd automatic litter box I bought. I have the Litter Robot 4 which is great but only 1 of my 3 cats will use it. I thought that if I got a flatbed auto litter box, it might help the other 2 start using it. Only 1 of those other 2 will use but only if I fill it with their usual non-clumping litter. Therefore, it's really the litter and not the auto boxes I bought for them that make them not use it. If you do fill this with clumping litter, it works pretty good for a flatbed automatic litter box.

I like the idea and it is better than most others but I didnt like how loud the motor was and small poop was left behind. An expensive machine, though it's not a top-tier name brand WHICH IS FIVE TIMES THE PRICE. If this were in your basement or a dedicated cat room, then it wouldn't be all bad. The app also randomly quit sending me notifications, BUT I GOT IT WORKING AGAIN. This machine CAN BE a headache BUT IF YOU TRAIN YOUR CAT ITS NOT BAD. I invested a lot in 4 total boxes to avoid bending so much, I'm giving it a little more time to see what it does and if I can improve the experience. Ronotail customer care is very responsive and there to help if you have any issue.

Has an error code that will not go away rendering it unusable. Worked fantastic for 2 months. Had no concerns about the safety of my cat with this box. Disappointed it gave out so soon.

2nd update- The seller reached out and offered a refund. They stated that they are "working diligently to enhance the quality control process for this model and have already implemented additional testing steps to prevent similar problems from happening in the future." Gave an additional star for customer service. Update: Too loud. Cat will not use after using only 3 times. Does not clean well and leaves behind small clumps. And I am still not receiving notifications from the app. Will be returning. Needed a completely open top litter box for our new cat (tried semi open litter box but it was too small) He got in and checked it out right away but did not use it. I downloaded the app and connected it to the network and it started moving. This freaked out the cat. It is much noisier than the other auto box that was too small. Not overly load but it did put it in so not disturb since I am a little light sleeper. Only other issue I'm having is that I'm not getting notifications from the app. I have to go into the app to see when he is used it.

I love this box so much I bought two! I have three cats that love the box too. I was worried that my ten year old "princess" wouldn't use it, she does. It is a little noisy going through the cycle but totally worth it not having to scoop anymore. I didn't want all the use to burn up the rake motor. Super easy to take it fully apart to clean the rake, pan and bin. You can see when the bin needs emptying and any clumping cat litter seems to work great.
