After reading all the reviews I was skeptical about this litter box but I have four rescue cats ranging from 7 to 19 lbs. The 19 pound cat is a half Main Coon. I had three extra large litter boxes and 1 regular litter box. Keeping them clean and not smelling was a daily chore! No matter what litter I used! I can't afford an electric self cleaning litter box and did not want the hassle of maintaining one by having to keep the sensor clean and taking the thing apart to clean at times. So I thought about this litter box. I decided that I could fix any issues the reviews addressed and I did! I should patten this! đ I am so happy with these that I had to share! I have two, even with four cats! I roll it daily and have no issues! Here are the instructions complete with pictures to make this the perfect litter box! 1. Addressing the issue of loose catch pan with a gap. Buy a couple of buckle latches for each box. I got four (enough for two boxes) for around 5 or 6 bucks on Amazon. Take a very small drill bit and predrill holes. Make sure the drill bit is smaller than the screw you will be using to affix the latch. Be sure the part of the latch you pull up is clear of the catch pan handle. I bought 3 inch latch buckles. This will pull the catch pan close to the opening. Be sure to align the catch pan properly when drilling holes so it will sit right When you use the sceew to attach the latch it may hang out some but it is not where a cat can scratch themselves. Be careful when atraching latch. I drilled my first hole to close to catch pan edge. Again, don't use a large drill bit or the screw will not stay. SEE PICTURE 2. Catch pan spilling litter. Take some weather stripping and put inside the top of door of the catch pan. When you do this and add a latch...problem solved. SEE PICTURE 3. Leaking litter and cat urinating against wall causing leaking issues. Get a roll of weather stripping. I got a roll for about 6.00 bucks from Amazon. I got 1/2 wide by 1/16 thickness. I will double check measurements. You don't need one to thick or the latch will not close. When lining the bottom of the box bypass where the latch connects to the top. This will stop any litter spillage and urine spillage at the seam. The weather stripping is not seen and does not get wet of a cat urinates on the wall because the top of the pan overlaps. After putting the weather stripping on it will take a little more effort to latch the lid. Do so carefully as not to break the lid. I had to problem. No when I take the lid off every 2 weeks to clean the pan the latch work great because the weather stripping as mashed into perfect shape. 4. Now for the BIGGEST complaint. The sifter grid will not stay in place. First take a very small drill bit and drill a hole in the snap area at the bottom for the grid. SEE PICTURE before doing so. Then take a plastic tie wrap and insert and pull around to the back of the sifter grid and secure. To do this you have to drill the hole first then snap the grid in and then secure behind the grid on the horizontal part of the grid. Then finishing installing the piece as instructed by putting the back down into the pan. This will keep the grid sifter in place. Be sure to snap the grid sifter in place first or it may not work. I could not be happier with my 2 litter boxes! I hope this helps anyone who loves cats but can't afford an electric litter box or who doesn't trust them or doesn't want the maintenance of one. I have also found that if you roll the litter box to only 80% you will not loose to much litter in the catch pan. I sometimes roll it to far and get a catch pan full of good litter. My solution...I have a large plastic bowl with a large scoop in it. I slowly dump the catch pan in that then discard the waste in the litter genie and then dump the litter back in the box. Seems time consuming? Nope...takes about 60 seconds to clean each box! I use hardball litter mixed with paws and claws clumping litter because some have said hardball is dusty to cats sinuses. I have not had any issues and even with a 19 lb half Main Coon I have had to messy messes to clean. That would be a personal preference to anyone on the litter they use. I hope this helps anyone who wants a semi self cleaning litter box!

Finally! A box that simplifies the task! At a reasonable cost. No need to spend half a grand. I was prepared for this not to work as simply and effectively as it does. After working with many other types and left frustrated, forever sweeping, vacuuming far down a hall (and holding my breath against smell), this box has made it so easy to clean regularly. Still a chore, of course, but not one so bad that you find any excuse to avoid, to the disfavor of your pet. In the action of tipping all the way over, back, and just a bit more, I was convinced it would spill everywhere. But, NO. NO litter on the floor. No need to worry about the lid coming off. The locking clips are secure and not touched when you roll. The added advantage of the rolling, is if you have a totally unconventional cat who does not scratch til the end of time to bury his #2, it will be covered by the time it is retrieved in the closed pull/drawer scoop. Have a small waste can liner open and ready. Pull out, deposit into waiting bag, return scoop to box, and close your bag. Almost no smell, and only for a tiny fraction of the time standing over an open box sifting from one end to the other. I have added litter just through the entrance to refill to line indicated on interior wall, so I haven't needed to remove top. I only wish it came in an even larger size. We have three cats using it! (No problem at all to clean every day now. With the lower smell, we have it placed were it is passed several times a day. No shoving to a far corner, out of sight put if mind.) No, the reason I wish for a larger size is our grey mackerel tabby is a big American boy. He uses it without any issue, but I can't imagine how he turns around in it. As he was my concern, I had left our previous box, an over size, open top with high walls, close to this when I set it up. He ignored that and went right to this! I will admit, I am so excited about this I am reviewing after only two weeks. It is entirely plastic. It has a slick surface on interior. With the shifting of the litter, build up sticking to the interior sides has not happened, yet. The built in screen/shelf for scoop, is one piece, bent to 90°angle, and clicked into place. I do not know how long I can go without totally disassembling for a wash. Time will tell how many opening and closing of the clips will add occur before a break. You will have to find a litter that fills your needs AND works with this box. The sifting wall is comprised of a long piece of plastic with long slots, alternating with slats of equal width plastic. Too big a granule of litter, or granules that swell large but don't clump, will have you finding litter in the scoop. In sampling many varieties of litter, I had already been using one made from walnut shells. For a time, with previous box (and fewer cats), the box was in the bathroom and I flushed the waste; walnut shells are flushable. It naturally covers (most of the) smell. It creates no dust. It has no chemicals. It upsales/recycles a sustainable, green, waste product. (It really sickens me that as a culture we are using food, actual wheat and corn for cat litter; not the chaff and cob, but the grain!) It is relatively more expensive by weight, but have found it lasts a longer time. Not as much volume is used in covering and clumping. The recycled paper I tried did not clump or absorb (to my surprise). Also I could see that colored ink was in the mix and the types of ink were not listed. Every clay I tried had dust, even dustless. I didn't like spending time sifting, outside, with a mask, so the cats wouldn't be inhaling that. I use the medium size crushed walnut shells. The smallest stays in paws and one will find at farthest end of house. The pellets, though they absorb urine, don't clump (perhaps they are suited for boxes with bases that strain onto a pad.) I have no idea if these would trigger a nut allergy in a susceptible person.

I have 2 cats. I have tried to use hooded boxes before and one cat would just poop on the floor but oddly enough would pee in the box. But cleaning a hooded box is a pain because you either have to take the box apart or lean into it to scoop it. This is nice because you just roll it and slap it and all the poop and stuck to the bottom pee clumps rolled into the waste tray. Also I tried the Scoop Free box and the cats wouldnât use it with the lid and they flung the crystals everywhere without it. It also couldnât keep up with 2 cats because they pee right after each other on the same spot. My cats go to the bathroom so much every day that itâs nice to be able to roll it and quickly dump the bin intermittently throughout the evening after work and in the morning before work. I was using a big bucket of litter every week before because they threw so much out of an open top litter pan. Now I am using a bucket a month. My old pan it was super smelly even though it was in a laundry room you could smell it 2 rooms away. This box holds the smell and keeps the poop hidden. Plus it is deep enough to satisfy the diggers. I have the box without the litter step and my cats do like to throw litter out. Itâs way better with this box but it still happens. Here are the flaws. You have to bend over and roll the box. For someone with bad balance or bad back that can be very difficult vs using a long handled scoooer to scoop out an open box. Also the 2 halves of the box are not well formed to fit tightly and worse yet, the side that you roll the litter onto is the edge with the worst gap. I solved this with yhe expandable foam weather stripping in the gap. The hole in the top that the door slides through is poorly cut and leaves a gap. I did have weather stripping on the inside face of the waste tray but it gets dusty litter on it so it came unstuck. I am going to get flat clear plastic weather strip and cut it to fit to fix the issue but since the litter doesnât fall against it, it hasnât been a problem yet. People have said the clips break. I have only taken it apart once because even with two cats the litter was still very clean after almost a month. But I dumped it anyway and the latches seems sturdy enough. If they break I will drill a few holes in the rim and use nuts and butterfly bolts to hold it together so itâs easy to separate. The little waste separator grid also was loose when I dumped all the litter out. That happened when I hit the bottom of the pan too close to wear it slides into the bottom section. I can only give 3 stars because these are issues the manufacturer needs to address and not the consumer having to cobble together fixes. However, that being said, it has made the worst part of cat ownership so much better that I am going to deal with the shortcomings and if something happened to this one I will probably buy the next step up from Omega.

Both are Omega Paw but this gray one the cutout for the scoop drawer is roughly cutout and not even and drawer doesnât close to a flush fit to opening. Drawer also since doesnât stay tight in so when you roll it it flips up so waste goes under the drawer and not captured so I have to do a maneuver of holding it in as it would fall out AND hold it DOWN so when I roll with left hand, a feat, as it is larger and heavier I keep that drawer down against its inside deck so it catches the mess. And that crude opening when I roll back and if I have a lot of wet litter its rough edges catches the mess. Not at all same quality of the smaller black and âchromeâ latched Omega Paw I bought the year before. I wish I had just got the second Omega Paw identical to that first black one as I think two that size would have done the job for the two new young now 6 months old. wish I could get an exchange quite frankly. Oddly, when I bought the first one, I had read some negative reviews. I never had any significant problems but NOW I see the lack of quality on this bigger gray one and I swear I wonder if one is an original and one not a true Omega Paw but an imposter! @OmegaPaw shame on you! The black one is not a perfectly closed drawer BUT the fit is entirely better. Somehow the bigger one is just askew and loose and hole for drawer looks like cutout with a hacksaw. And note the sloppy cutout on that gray one last two pictures show putting drawer back in the big gray one it always goes in askew because of that. I mean how do you send back a used litter box. Yuk. Well donât ya know the preferred one nosy 6 month old bombed my picture!

Is it better than having to scoop? Yes. The inside grate popping out can be a problem if your cat likes to pee up against it or if you overfill the litter. When they pee against the grate, clumps form inside the area that the clean litter is supposed to fall into, and if you tilt the litter box all the way onto its top to swat the underside (as youâre supposed to), the clumped litter on the inside can make the grate pop out. My suggestion to the designers of the box would be to make the plastic pieces that hold the grate in place taller than the 1/2â than they currently are (perhaps 1â or 1.25â), or design a way to lock the grate into place. Either of those things would be a game changer for this litter box. I do like it, and will keep using it bc itâs easier than having to scoop. If youâre expecting to get this box and never need to do anything but tilt and dump the clumped litter, this box isnât for you. It still requires it to be completely emptied and cleaned with fresh litter added at least once a month (possibly more if you have multiple cats). I was doing that with my old litter box anyway, so itâs not a huge change other than being slightly easier to empty. I really hope the designers read my suggestion and fix the grate issue for the future!

When was the last time you discribed cleaning the litterbox as "Easy and almost fun!"? I have had so many kitty litter boxes over the years and they've all been a chore to clean (even the automated Self cleaning ones that never work as advertised and the cats avoid). For once with the Omega Paw roll-n-clean I have found a product that works as advertised. I don't mind cleaning it every day. It literally takes less than a minute (and you don't get your hands dirty). It takes more time to get a trash bag to dump the waste into and then to actually clean the box. My only criticism is, my cats like a little bit more room in their littlerbox. Even though I bought the largest one available, once assembled and working, it's actually closer to half the littler area as it looks from the picture. I have two cats that are large and very furry, as a result they do tend to track a little bit of litter out of the box every time they come in and out (be sure to buy a litter box mat). Just not a lot of space in there for them to maneuver, but as long as I keep it clean every day, they don't seem to mind. The only other comment I have, is that it came in a box with no documentation or labels. Just a simple box. It was easy enough to find Assembly instructions on YouTube when searching for Omega Paw. Even with those minor issues, I am very happy with the product. ADDENDUM: I have now owned this box for over a year, and I still love it and think its the best. If I can add one bit of advice, when you first assemble the litter box, you may want to consider glueing the plastic filter grate to the bottom of the box (only the bottom, not the top). The box has two notches that secure the grate in place at the bottom of the box, but if you are not careful, it can become dislodged and the box can not be rolled and litter will spill everywhere. If this happens, you have to take the box apart and get down in the litter to reset the grate. If you take a few minutes to seal it into position before you fill it with litter for the first time, I feel you will have much better results.

THE PROS: We have two cats who pee A LOT. I used to fill a large litter box twice a week and simply dump the whole thing in garbage as scooping the litter was a big pain. Then we moved and I couldn't keep the litter box in the garage. Since the old box would smell from time to time I started looking and found this litter box. The first time I used it I fell in love. It's so easy to clean the litter box. A process that would take me 20 mins before takes less than 5 minutes now. It really made cleaning the litter box not a big deal. THE CONS: Sometimes it takes multiple attempts to get all the bad litter clumps out. Usually there are still chunks left behind after each cleaning. The worst problem is that pee clumps and wet poop get stuck to the roof, sides, bottom, and sifting screen which eventually requires you to spray the whole thing out with a hose. I've used it barely 2 months and the sifting screen comes loose pretty often which requires I reach in and grab the messy screen with my hand to snap it back in place. The last time I took it apart to spray it with the hose I noticed the plastic top of the sifting screen is starting to tear down the seam where you fold it so I expect after another 2 months the box will be rendered useless without a new screen. From the design I can surmise that the inventor tried to sandwich the screen between the bottom and top of the box which would prevent it from coming out of the snaps on the bottom that hold it in place but alas once it gets covered in clumps of litter (which can happen after 1 use if the cat pees on it) it will become heavy and come loose no matter what because there's too much flex in the screen. I wanted to love this box but it looks like they need to do some tweaks to the design. I honestly don't know how they can solve the sifting screen issue unless they use a plastic or coating that prevents clumps of litter from sticking to it. I plan to contact the manufacturer so I will update my review and possible my rating based on their response.
