I used to fill my 128-ounce water container with ice, and sometimes I wouldn't finish all the water by the end of the day, causing the ice to melt. What bothered me was seeing floating debris in the water, especially coming from a brand-new fridge with a new filter. This often led me to dump the water. However, after installing a new water system, all the water in my home is now drinkable water from any faucet in the house including the outside hose. I decided to do an ice test: I let the ice melt and was surprised to see no particles in the water afterward. Additionally, our laundry comes out cleaner, and showering has noticeably improved as well. One last thing to add, since we added this system our coffee machine or faucets do not get calcium build up anymore, and installing a bidet gives us more peace of mind we have very clean water usage from the bidet. ... show more

This system was very easy to install and seems to work pretty well. I'm writing the review after only three days of use. One thing to be aware of, if you have copper pipes, your water will have a blue tint to it at first while the citric acid flushes out the copper pipes. The company assures me it is non-toxic and will fade away over time. ... show more

Installed the filter and the "citrus" filter, the water filter INSTANTLY changed color form white to brown, like it was a magic marker and not a filter. I have no idea if its working or not, the previous filter too months to change color

We live in an area (Mohave Valley, AZ) subdivision, which gets it's water from groundwater. We were told 300 ppm (I believe it is) is acceptable of undesolved solids. Our area has 1,300 and, per plumber, NOT TO GIVE THE FACET WATER TO DOGS AS THEY WILL GET KIDNEY STONES. (Note: our Snoodle just had a $3K operation to remove 2 marble-sized kidney stones, although we have always given the dogs RO water only). We had a salt-water-softener system that left white salt around all faucets, ice cube/water tray, etc., and I do not like floaties in my ice water when the ice melts. So, I buy bottled water and ice, for me, although we also have a RO system that goes to the ice maker (my husband uses). Not wanting all the salt, and when our water heat died, we decided to try this Nuvo whole-house system. I only gave 4 stars because we, as yet, have not had the water tested, and we had a licensed plumber install it for warranty (if needed) so am unsure of the ease of installation. The good news? Our water is great and clear and the plumber said this system will clean up, within a few months, our pipes from the old system's years of use. He did also say some folks complain about black carbon filter flecks in their water with the Nuvo, but we have not experienced that issue. Back to our water company...their system has issues to where regular water is quite brownish the last couple of months and the lady who runs our local area says she has been working the mixture. It did get clearer before we installed this new system. Now, fast forward about 6 weeks post Nuvo instillation. Our water pressure flat sucked. Water lady says no issues with pressure. Called Nuvo installation plumber back out, said we have plenty of pressure showing coming in the house at the street. He bipassed the Nuvo and we had great water pressure, but brownish water again! Checked our filters and the prefilter (see picture) on the Nuvo IS doing it's job as the water still comes out clear in house faucets, when using Nuvo and not bi-passed when we get the brownish water. Needless to say, our Nuvo filters were clogged (again, see picture), causing low water pressure, so changed both our filters. Husband, about a week after installation, said the water tasted fine and was clear. The picture is of the water in the prefilter cartridge container 3 days ago, before changing filters, so it's most definitely filtering the water well being faucets have clear water! Now I get to complain to the water company our incoming water is NOT acceptable. About $130 to change both Nuvo filters, but every 6 weeks due to our bad water, when they are normally changed every 6 MONTHS, no. I have a phone call to make to the water company... ... show more

DO NOT BUY! Save yourself the headache and just go with the traditional salt/resin system from Lowes, Kinetico or your local water conditioning company. This thing does not remove minerals at all. The minerals are just supposed to "slide" away. Well, they still build up on faucets, glassware and your shower stall. $1000 later and right in the dumpster. ... show more

System does not tolerate exposure to UV rays. Exposure to sun causes damage that includes bacteria build up in system. Do not install without a bypass system and the insulated hood. I had to add those to my system that failed with bacteria build up. You can find information about bacteria build up on line. Good luck! ... show more

    • Leaks in less than year. New o-ring does not help.

I stalled less than a year have bad leaking at top of one canister. Replaced o ring. This did not help. Worked great while it lasted. Too expensive to purchase again. Installed outside but is not in sun.
