We purchased an under sink system and I tried installing it myself. Got all the plumbing in and the water came out cloudy. Thought it is normal and just needed to flush it some more. A month in, it was still cloudy, almost milky. Called a plumber, he said everything was installed correctly. It is just full of tiny bubbles for some reason. Never drank a sip out of it. It was a complete waste of money and trew it away a few years later. We started buying the large 2.5 gallon jugs and water bottles for drinking. I figured that costs about $10 a week or over $500 a year and wasted a lot of plastic. Saw this unit on sale and jumped on it. Glad I did, it tastes exactly like bottled spring water and will end up being much cheaper in the long run. Setup was simple. I flushed it 5 times. Just know that you have to pour out the rest of the water I. The rear tank after the system says pure water is empty. The remaining water in the tank is actually waste water. You can't just open the top and refill it while the tank is still on the unit. My girlfriend is in a wheelchair and has dexterity issues. This is much easier for her to use to fill up a bottle or cup than even the kitchen faucet or the 2.5 gallon water jug. I will recommend it to my family for sure. ... show more

I bought a reverse osmosis filter because the city's source water for the treated water is disgusting and cannot be made to taste good with a conventional filtration system. Also, there is a possibility that there are disinfection byproducts in it as well. I was a certified water treatment operator prior to retiring so I know the hazards. Additionally, there may be fluoride compounds as well due to intentional addition of fluoride. Just brush your teeth and floss daily. That said, the water quality is superior and tastes great. Taste and odors can come from algae in the source water and is costly to remove and is an aesthetic issue and not required to be corrected. This RO system is designed for light use and is very hands on because of manual maintenance required. This was a trade-off between installing a plumbed in system and a counter top system that was ready to go in minutes. The making coffee test was favorable. And, a final note...this unit has a built in UV disinfection feature. I am also very familiar with UV disinfection for drinking water. It will kill waterborne pathogens like E-coli, Giardia, and other ruin your day creatures. October 4, 2023 update. I use this unit often as I use it for water for cooking, drinking, and water for my dog. He is drinking more water now. I like the idea that my coffee maker will almost never need to be descaled due to the much lower TDS (total dissolved solids). Tap water: over 500 ppm(parts per million) after filter: 27 ppm. I bought a 16 in one test kit that I used for before and after. This RO filter does a great job. I also use the filtered water in my CPAP machine. RO filtered water and distilled water are nearly the same after filtration. This was a good purchase for me. ... show more

    • This makes my tap water safer to drink.
I purchased a tool that measures Total Disolved Solids in my water. Even with a simple outside filter the Parts Per Million is barely within acceptable limits for a water municipality. Typically, I only drink bottled water. With this simple-to-use counter top filter the TDS in my water went from 0568 down to 0033 PPM. I tested my Ozarka and my Members Mark water to compare. Ozarka tests at 0033 PPM, too. The Member's Mark was 0025 PPM. I have no concerns about drinking my tap water once it filters through this machine. There's very little wasted water. I had no complicated installation. It sits next to my coffee maker on the counter. No more heavy cases of water. No more plastic bottles in the land fill.     • Works great & worth the money
Great tasting water. A bit noisy but not bad and doesn't run long. I seen complaints about having to dump discharge water after each tank of feed water. If you don't have horrible water to start with then here's a tip. Use another pitcher to refill tank when it gets half way as the discharge water won't release until feed water runs out. So don't let it run out by refilling the tank at halfway mark. I do this until 3rd day then let it run out so I can empty and rinse the feed tank. Also, when you push the flush button it will empty the purified water tank which if full will give you 12 cups of water (pot of coffee!). So very convenient in the mornings! Also stuck felt strips over the rubber feet to make it easy to slide around when I'm emptying the discharge water & cleaning the feed tank. Bottom line is it's better water then you get from a plastic bottle at a fraction of the cost, made exceptionally well, reasonably priced and looks very nice.     • You have to read the instructions
After reading through the reviews. I knew that after purchasing this. I would have to closely read the directions. It seemed like a lot of people didn't read the instructions, and so they didn't filter the water enough before using the machine. Also, it's important to note that when it runs out of water, you can't just add more water to it; you have to empty the dirty water out of the tank and fill it up with fresh water again. My husband said he noticed he's peeing more frequently after starting drinking it. I bought this because I wasn't ready for the commitment of a plumbed in RO inut, nor the expense of one. My cardiologist recommended to filter water so that we aren't drinking water with fluoride in it. We already had an activated charcoal system, but that didn't filter fluoride (we are on city water). This has worked out perfect! I even filled up a 2.5 gallon container with it to take on road trips and for use in my office! Strongly considering buying a unit for my office too! ... show more

This filter is super easy to set up, and it delivers on all promises. I tested the water in comparison to our tap and water from the filter in the refrigerator. This filter brought the tap water from a 122 to a 17. The filter in our fridge was only marginally better than the tap, coming in at 118. The water not only tastes better, but it also makes the brownish water in Fort Lauderdale crystal clear. ... show more
