πŸš€ Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Aquasure Water Softener System comes highly recommended by users, with the product earning praise for its ease of installation and long lifespan. Many find the controls located on the bead tank, distance from the corrosive salt water, a smart design choice. Lower salt use is also appreciated, though some users note they need to set the system at a higher grain count for more effective water softening.

Pros

  • πŸ”§ - Easy to install, with most units arriving mostly pre-assembled.
  • πŸ’‘ - Smart design places controls on the bead tank, away from the corrosive brine.
  • πŸ§‚ - Uses less salt than other models.
  • 🚰 - Works well in softening water overall.
  • πŸ’΅ - Good value for the cost.

Cons

  • πŸ’§ - May not soften water as effectively as other brands.
  • ➑ - Comes standard with a 1” hookup, which may require purchasing reducers for homes with 3/4" pipes.
  • πŸ‘€ - The brine line is solid black, making it impossible to see if it becomes clogged.
  • πŸ”‡ - Customer support might be difficult to reach.

Should I Buy It?

Despite some minor issues, the high ratings, user-friendly design, and effective water softening make the Aquasure Water Softener System a worthwhile purchase. Whether you're a professional in the water treatment field or a DIY homeowner, this system should serve you well.

  • Make sure you have everything before you start.
I ordered it on Dec. 20th of last year supposedly delivery between Dec. 30th and Jan. 2nd of this year, it showed up at my front door 2 days later, I'm not even a prime member! I decided to order the 64000 grain unit, I believe my old unit was a 48000 grain, the installation was easy basically just shut off the main water supply and swap out the old one (installation instructions is very well written), if you're mechanically inclined and follow the installation instructions you will have no problem with it, over all the system works very well so far, it feels great to have soft water again. The following are some notes that hopefully you'll find them helpful. 1, First of all, once the digital control valve is installed on to the resin tank it's roughly 60" tall for the 64000 grain unit, make sure that you have enough room before you start, I have a cabinet installed right where the resin tank goes, so I have to move the cabinet. 2, The yoke connection for both inlet and outlet is 1" for the 64000 grain unit, I'm not sure if the 48000 grain unit yoke connection is 3/4", since the water supply line of my house is 3/4" I have to get what plumber called 3/4" to 1" NPT bushing, which I have a hell of a time finding one neither Lowe's or Home Depot stock it, fortunately I was able get them at a plumbing supply house near by. 3, On step 2 after you installed the bypass valve on to the control head make sure the O ring didn't get pinch, otherwise you'll have water spraying everywhere, fortunately there are two spare O rings came with the unit, after taking it apart and replaced it no more water leaks, so just be careful don't be a dummy like me. ... show more

  • Happy, working great. Lots less salt usage.
I bought this over the Internet and was curious how all this would work. I ordered the 3/4" fitting as that is what my existing line nipple is. The packages arrived in 2 separate shipments one by normal carrier, and the tank by special carrier and it was heavy. I installed in my basement garage. I did have to replace the copper shut offs, else it would have fit my existing 3/4" fitting. I followed the instructions and the YouTube video, easy and not as bad as I thought. It took me a bit longer, but I took my time to be careful. I did have to call support as my down tube did not seem to go down all the way, but service was good, quick and helpful and let me know it was down far enough. I got it programed and did find I had to drop back the brine refill to a 8 maybe a 7 from a 10 as the tank was refilling more than 1/2 way. No worries, their is a cut-off and a safety overflow. In the end I wish this had a smart app with it, but it is saving my salt and only recharging every 1000 gals. I did get a bigger version 64,000 vs the 48,000 grains. We have 2 people in a 3 bath house on good clean unfiltered well water source. Hardness 25, low iron. There was a lot of research and calculations that I had to learn, so I would put this process at a 3-4 star project. The install was super easy, understanding the settings and softening was the more complicated part, but there is lot of info on YouTube. I'd recommend calling a water softener company and they will test your water for you and give your the results. ... show more

  • Excellent water softener
This was super easy to install. I did already have a softener so it made it easier to replace with this one. This thing is way more efficient than my old one & uses way less salt. It seems to be good quality, water flow & pressure are great. It’s much easier to dial in how soft you want the water. I hope this last a while I’ve used other brands that lasted about 5 years each but this is the best one I’ve had so far, I would buy it again. ... show more

  • Unit arrived DOA and support walked us through with incorrect instructions causing a flood!
The unit installed and appeared to be working fine. I had a plumber install it for us. I called support and they walked me through setup and told me everything was good to go and functioning properly. Several months went by and I went to add salt and realized the unit wasn't working. Support never had us run a faucet to insure the meter was working properly. I called back support hoping to go through settings and they proceeded to walk me through checking settings and had them email them pictures, etc. to verify installation. The girl giving support was non-descriptive and quickly had me attempting to disassemble the unit from the plumbing on the wall with any warning of what she was walking me through. Without detailed instructions and doing my best to interpret her vague instructions, she had me turn the valves off and remove the unit from the wall all in an attempt to check the turbine which she thought would be defective on a brand new unit. She did not warn me of the system being under pressure and what I was getting ready to do. She instructed me to pull the tank from the wall and that caused an eruption of water which flooded our basement. She was absolutely no help when this happened and just froze on the phone. I ended up shutting off the main water and scrambling to clean up the mess. I then spoke to a supervisor who apologized for her employee's lack of knowledge and instruction details and then offered to send me replacement parts but would not even overnight them! She said there was nothing further they could do and they don't contract with any plumbers or professional services for warranty work and I would have to cover all costs. Ended up having to file an insurance claim over a flooded basement! In the end, we got another brand installed by a reputable local company who pointed out what a poor design this unit has and how weak it fixes to the plumbing for a system under that much pressure. Terrible design, terrible support - don't risk it and go with another brand. ... show more
