This is an excellent product from a highly-respected manufacturer. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. In the end, I'm quite happy with the product. However, I did run into several leaking problems prior to successful installation. The way the product is constructed, the Water Measuring Unit, Bypass Valve, and pipe connection parts are all held to the Control Head by Diabolical Clips and made water-tight by O-rings. Very simple and intuitive to install. My first leak was caused by a small crack in the Water Measuring Unit. AquaSure quickly sent a replacement WMU. But whatever I did, the replacement leaked as though its O-rings were misplaced. -- even though I repeatedly verified they were correctly-placed and un-damaged. Eventually I gave up and asked Aquasure for a complete replacement Control Head with all its accessories. They quickly shipped the replacements, and I put it together with no leaks at all. The system is now working perfectly. I have the highest regard for Customer Service in seeing me through the several leaking problems. Mondays are busy days for Customer Service. One thing you should know is upon request, AquaSure can supply 3/4" pipe fittings instead of the standard 1" ones. If you are using 3/4" pipe, this change will avoid the complexity and expense of additional pipe size adapters. ... show more

I purchased this water softener about three months ago and followed the installation instructions carefully—it worked perfectly from the start, and we absolutely love it. I’ve been so impressed that I recommended it to friends, who ended up ordering the same model. I assembled and installed theirs as well, and it performed just as flawlessly. The installations instructions are simple and at the same time a little complicated - nothing that will hold you back. I read them a couple of times and watched Youtube videos which helped a lot. Installation took roughly 3 to 5 hours: about an hour to assemble, another hour to connect it to the existing plumbing, and a couple of hours for the initial setup cycle to complete. Get ready - during the setup stage I sat there for 1.5 hours watching it. I stayed close by in case water leaked - which it all worked well. I’d suggest planning for a full 5 hours, not including time spent watching YouTube videos or reviewing the manual beforehand. For us, it works well and we’re pleased with the results. Our water is very soft. We did not install the water filter as we live in an area where it is not necessary. ... show more

    • A good Water Softener for the Money
Size: 48,000 Grain
The water softener once set up works great giving soft water to our home and regenerating when needed. You do need to have a water test done beforehand so that you know the hardness of your water. There is a calculation needed so you program the gallons between reigns correctly and your water hardness is needed for that calculation. The installation and programing was easy. Remember to follow the ending instruction on how to turn back on the water to the house with the bypass valves off at first. I goofed and turned on the water to the house before reading the final instructions and sent some residue through my house! My likes: Runs as expected, easy set up, good price point for what you get. My dislikes: No battery back up. So when the power goes off you will need to reset the time and possibly reprogram all the settings again. Could be solved by a simple 9v battery, but this unit does not have that. A continuous lit up display. These units are placed usually in utility closets that are dark so seeing the display is difficult. Finally the bypass valves stick way out and are held in place by a couple of metal clips and O rings for seals. Using 1" pipe this easily puts too much downward pressure on the O rings allowing a little drip. One has to be very careful in placing the unit so that the pipes can be attached to a wall so there is no pressure on valves. This works great until someone knocks the unit and it shifts a little then the anchored pipe puts pressure on the o-rings allowing a drip. I assume once I get all the walls built on my new utility room this will not be such an issue, but it is a poor design since the pipes are quite a few inches away from the o-ring joint placing a lot of torque on the joint. ... show more

I have never owned such a sophisticated whole house water filtration system. It was fairly easy to install but requires that you have some experience in DIY plumbing. AquaPure has friendly experienced personnel a phone all away for programming and questions about the system. Once the entire piping system water cleared out of my waterlines the old chlorine smell and Tate’s disappeared and even the feel of the running water on your hands was softer and more gentle. Taking a shower using this system felt GREAT! Better water flow and a fresher cleaner feel without the usual lingering feeling that most water softeners have that leaves you still feeling wet after toweling off.
