This adapter works great. I'm staying at my in-law's home and they only have a dryer plug with a 14-30 plug that I could utilize for L2 charging, the Rivian mobile plug is 14-50. This adapter fills that need perfectly. Just make sure you do to the panel and turn down the amperage in your vehicle for what the circuit breaker can handle using the 80% rule. The plug I used had a 30amp breaker, but Rivian's software thought it could pull 36amps. This is a no-go, so each time I go to plug in I needed to lower it to 24mps (80% of 30amps). This has nothing to do with this adapter, but I wanted to share that info for other Rivian owners. That said, this adapter has been working beautifully without any concerns of heat and zero tripping of the breaker.
