I bought this to use as a faster alternative to charge my Tesla while I waited for the Wall Charger to be installed. Worked as intended. Fit easily into the existing dryer 220 plug, fit the Tesla charger well and allowed both plugs to be plugged in and removed easily, but snug.

This was the best $20 I've ever spent on Amazon. This is one heavy-duty adapter - perfect for problems we've had for the past three summers connecting our Teslas to the clothes dryer electrical receptacles in vacation homes. It's a rugged adapter which feels great in your hands - exuding strength and certainty - and moves MUCHO energy from the circuit to your car. We got all 30 amps from the house, translating into 29 miles of range per hour - MUCH better than the 4 miles of range we'd been getting from our "trickle charge" connection to standard 15 amp household circuits. This adapter works great. I'm staying at my in-law's home and they only have a dryer plug with a 14-30 plug that I could utilize for L2 charging, the Rivian mobile plug is 14-50. This adapter fills that need perfectly. Just make sure you do to the panel and turn down the amperage in your vehicle for what the circuit breaker can handle using the 80% rule. The plug I used had a 30amp breaker, but Rivian's software thought it could pull 36amps. This is a no-go, so each time I go to plug in I needed to lower it to 24mps (80% of 30amps). This has nothing to do with this adapter, but I wanted to share that info for other Rivian owners. That said, this adapter has been working beautifully without any concerns of heat and zero tripping of the breaker. ... show more
