This seguma level 2 charger is equipped with NEMA 14-30 Plug, is designed for a NEMA 14-30 dryer outlet (the 4-prong dryer outlet), No wiring upgrades needed, just plug and charge. Is this charger compatible with my EV? This level 2 charger works with 98% electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids that use the SAE J1772 connector, including models from Ford, Chevrolet, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, and more. Tesla vehicles require a J1772-to-Tesla adapter. How do I select the appropriate charging current (10A, 12A, 16A, 20A, 24A)? Amperage depends on your circuit and EV. 1. If your car only accepts 16A, higher settings won’t help. 2. Use lower amps (10A–12A) if wiring is uncertain or it’s hot. 3. Wow, what a difference this Level 2 charger made. Until we could get an electrician to the house to wire my connection, I was using the standard 120V. Charging took endless hours. Switched to this Level 2 and that was cut to just a few hours. Very easy installation and the adapter that came with my Toyota C-HR fit this charger. More than sufficient cord length and I painted the metal power box the color of the house so it blends in better. ... show more

Seems well-built and pretty typical design, with a reasonable price. It includes a nice wall mount for the EVSE and the car plug. And although not pictured, it did include a silicone rubber protective cap with the car plug (which I needed and like). Even included a nylon bag/case. I do wish the 10-30 cord/plug were longer so I could place the unit better. The main reason I went with this one was that I needed a unit that would work safely with a 10-30 30A 240V outlet I already had. And it seems to work perfectly so far, although I have only used it several times. The adjustable setting is nice and I confirmed it works. I really like that the charge "session" information (duration, total kWh) remains on the screen until the next charging session automatically clears it. I checked the charging temperatures along the cables and connectors and body and all were fine at 24A. About the only thing missing is a timer option/kWh stop setting, but I can live without that. I hope the devices lasts (I do plan on leaving it plugged into the wall most of the time, for convenience). ... show more

I was so worried I was going to get the wrong one or it was not going to be as simple as plugging in. 100% this cord is the best Amazon purchase I have made in years. Delivery said next day and it was next day. The plug was correct and came with attachment for a regular plug in. I plugged it in and instantly was charging. There was no clicking through 20 options. Worked just as it should! I’ve had zero problems out of this charger. Does the full 24A so I think I get around 5-5.5 kW/h. I also don’t have a garage so it’s exposed to the elements while charging and has been doing just fine!
