We've had the Mode2 EV charger for the past two years, and it has been incredibly reliable and fast! It's quick to connect/ disconnect, and the cord is durable. I really appreciate the Status LED meaning on the back of the charger. We keep ours in the garage so I can't speak to the weathering aspect of it, but it does just fine in the heat and below freezing temps. The company's customer service is great too. I purchased a cable from Lectron but had issues with it and the replacement they sent me. They declined to remedy the situation and I decided to purchase this charging cable from Mustart to make sure the problem was with the old cable instead of some other issue. IT WORKS AS ADVERTISED! Delivers 9.6 kW throughout the charging cycle (20-80%). Haven't had to call Tech Support and the system is in a garage so I can't comment on weatherproof. I bought this charger to take on the road with me to three different locations I own. After installing the new plug at our home and charging our 2020 Bolt, I saw that the charger began charging at 6.6KWh, but the car had been sitting at the dealer for over two months. The next day after putting over 100 miles on the car we plug into the charger again overnight for our trip home. When checking the charger in the morning the display showed an average rate of charge at 7.5KWh. Super happy so far! This is also the 6-50r plug.     • Failed after five months - Customer service replaced it twice.

Bumping this review to four stars because of the responsive customer service. This charger worked great for five months then failed. I got customer service to respond and send me a used replacement using a free shipping label, but that one didn’t work at all. They sent me third, which appeared new, and so far that one works. I've used it infrequently for a few weeks and it's working well. After this experience and reading reviews I’m a bit concerned I shouldn’t use this charger with an expensive EV. I mean, what could go wrong? I don't know, but let's just say it's been a little bumpy and that makes me nervous. I bought a Clipper Creek charger, made in the US which is twice as expensive. I'm going to hold on to this Mustart and use it as a backup, portable charger. It's definitely nice, the cable is thick and long, I'm just not certain it's going to last forever. ... show more

The cord is sturdy and looks to be well made. I bought the charging cord December 12, 2021 and it worked fine with my 2015 LEAF. It stopped working March 9, 2023. I followed the trouble shooting tips and determined that my car and the outlet are both fine, it was the charging cord. The seller's Amazon site said it was covered by a 2 year warranty. The seller's contact information was not provided, and I had to reach out to Amazon. Amazon initially denied there was a 2 year warranty and kept saying I was past my 30 day returns period (obviously), and I had to persist in telling them that I was literally reading this language about the warranty on the Amazon site. Amazon had me on hold a long time, and I was passed around, but eventually I was given a link to contact the seller (CBY Corp). The seller is not the manufacturer (MUSTART) and they are in China and there was a lag caused by the time zone difference, but the seller was very courteous and cooperative to work with. I had to follow steps of taking a video while trying to use the cord and take a photo of the back of the power box on the cord, but once I did those they offered me choices of a solution that satisfied me. Considering that my local Nissan dealership sells their cord for $2,000, it was worth it to buy this on Amazon and then go through the work of getting a replacement. I was grateful that the seller did not expect me to mail back the non-functioning cord at my expense. They are quite heavy. ... show more

Update on this: Mustart customer service contacted me and offered a full warranty coverage. Purchased this MUSTART 40 amp charger from Amazon Warehouse, USED IN GOOD CONDITION. It arrived repackaged but all parts were there and it worked OK (only charging at 38 amps, NOT 40 amps as stated). In the shipment I received the warranty card from MUSTART - online registration for 2 yr product warranty. I sent in the required information, and after several back-and-forth sessions with Betty (customer service), I was told they WOULD NOT WARRANTY this, as MUSTART did not sell it to me. New warning I was not previously aware of - read the warranty coverage carefully before purchasing USED products. ... show more

The charging cable came with mounting hardware and is very well made. The material is good sturdy quality. Charges my jeep 4xe very quickly. I had to contact customer service because the unit quit charging but they were great. They sent me a return label and as soon as I got the faulty charger sent out they sent a replacement.
