New update: I was contacted back by the maker and after sending a short vid clip of the charger problem, they promptly sent a replacement--but a complete kit, not just the charger. They stayed in touch daily throughout the process to make sure everything was working correct. Previous reviews: well, this charger started acting eratically about 6 weeks after purchase and now I can't get it to keep charging our VW ID4 unless I set it to 20a or lower. VW dealership tested vehicle on 3 diff chargers and confirmed the problem is not with the car. Now I'm past return date and the manufacturer hasn't responded to support request. Original review: This charges perfectly every time. My only gripe is that the 1mm (at most) mounting plate on the back just pops out with the slightest pressure on it. I ended up gluing it in and it holds fine but I fear that it is so thin it will eventually break (why not spend 2 cents vs 1 cent for slightly more plastic?). You don't need to mount it but that was our preference. ... show more

I've had the unit for 3 months at this point and have had no issues. As you can see from my pictures it's installed in an outside location. I didn't want to test the claim of water resistance so I enclosed it in a housing I made out of a plastic toolbox. I have the unit set to 32 amps. We have a '22 Niro EV which charges at 7.2 kw. As of now it has always delivered the correct charge without issue. When I ordered the unit I received a note from the seller stating that a red ground fault light would come on when not connected to the vehicle. It does but goes away once connected. I am very happy with the unit and expect extended service from it. I am also happy with the plastic holder that the charging handle plugs into when not in use. It keeps the end of it dry and gives a place for the cord to wind onto. ................ UPDATE ........ ...... like others in the review section, my charger has also stopped working. It worked fantastic for 8.5 months then started to be intermittent. It would start charging and then stop after about 10 % added to the battery. The car would still see the charger and if I initiated a new charge session through the car app it would charge another 10 %. This went on for about a week. Now the unit will not charge at all. It looks fine on the display but when plugged to the car it never initiates the handshake to start the charge. I have replaced the unit with a different brand and all is back to normal. Because of the failure I have changed the rating to 1 star and would not recommend this unit. ... show more

Does what it says and simple to use -- charges at various currents and has a delay function if needed. At $170, it was a great deal. Not sure why other people are paying 2x to 3x more simply to charge their EVs. Most EV's now come with remote connectivity and delayed charging functionality. A "dumb" charger is all one really needs, unless if they want a showpiece. I tried four other (more expensive) charging cords before settling on this one. Aside from being more expensive and having different form factors, I couldn't identify any feature that justified the upcharge. ... show more

Purchased last March...but wasn't able to get a plug installed for a few months. Worked flawlessly until recently....now it won't charge my car. Unit lights up...no issues, but won't connect to the car. Have had my car battery replaced...still nothing. These are aupposed to work for up to 10k charges...like 20years. Loved being able to charge in 2 hrs, but have had to go back to my Level 1 charger that came with the vehicle. I sent a message to company asking if they would warranty...have not heard back yet. Hoping they will step up. Will update if I hear from them. 12/24...heard back from the company in August and was told they would send me a new charger. Checked in again at the beginning of december and asked for a tracking #. Got it 2 days later. Happy they warrantied their product, but it was a hassle getting that far. Will see how long this cae lasts. Hopefully longer than 1 year. ... show more

It’s very affordable to purchase this portable Level 2 EV charger, as it’s very cost-effective. If I had to rate it on a scale of 1 to 10 stars, I wouldn’t hesitate to give it 10 stars. On the first day I received this charger, I gave it to my friend, an electric vehicle and device expert, to inspect it. He tested its safety, and told me it met all of the standards. When I told him how much it cost, he was shocked and told me it was a good buy. After using this charger, I was very satisfied, as it was much faster than my previous Level 1 EV charger. In addition, its power cord was much thicker than my previous one, making it even safer. The seller also prepared a wall hook for the charging plug and power cord so it wouldn’t fall on the ground and get tangled. However, this isn’t just a charger you can use at home. You can also bring it along when you’re traveling if you need to charge your devices. Furthermore, the seller included a carrying case to store this charger. You can put it in your car’s trunk so it won’t take up too much space. When reading the instruction manual, I noticed that this charger had other functions such as protection against lightning protection、current leakage protection、over-hear protection、overcurrent protection、automatic power-off、Undervoltage protection、overvoltage protection and IP66 waterproof. Its safety and prevention features were extremely well-designed, so I felt assured when using it. I’ll recommend this MUETUX brand of EV charger to my family and friends. It’s amazing! ... show more

    • So far works great and at a great price
I've been wanting to upgrade the EVSE for by 2017 Chevy Bolt for a while now, I found this one at a great price and with the features I wanted, several are much more expensive than this with less features. The real time readouts are great and gives all the info you could ask for. The selectable charge rate is exactly what I wanted for flexibility for charging at home and elsewhere if I need to, and is easy to select and not something weird like having to swipe an RFID card like some other ones I've seen. It seems to have thicker cable than some of the more expensive ones too and it seems well built. Time will tell how it holds up and hopefully it will for a long time. My one thing is that it seemed like it selected 32A at power up, from what I read it was supposed to default to 10A (minimum), this is something to keep an eye on if you are only able to charge at a lower rate than the max. Update: After using it a few times now, when it powers up it comes up using the last selected charging rate that was used. Still so far it's been working great. ... show more

    • Failed after 10 months
It seemed to be a good unit till it failed and damaged my jeep grand cherokee 4xe hybrid such that after 4 weeks they still aren't able to fix my jeep. They gave me an equivalent loaner ant wont charge it either yet the level one works fine. I would not recommend this product as a result.

New Review: The manufacturer reached out and sent me a new unit to test and so far (fingers crossed) I haven't run into any error messages. They've been consistently following up to make sure I don't have and problems. Their customer service is top notch. Old Review: I bought this back in January and it worked perfectly until the day it didn't anymore. Two months in, I had plugged my car in to charge as normal and kept getting an error message on my car display. The charger would click on and off back and forth so I couldn't get a consistent charge. The error light on the charger showed an overheated board. I shut everything down for the weekend and tried again on Monday morning. Same error messages. I tried to contact the manufacturer but no response. ... show more
