  • Great option if you already have a NEMA 6-20 outlet in your garage
I bought this charger a few months ago because when I got my Chevy Bolt, there was already a NEMA 6-20 outlet installed in my garage by the previous owner, probably for a table saw. The charger came with a standard 110v plug adapter, but I have not tried using it with 110v. So far it's working great. The value is good for what it is, a simple portable EVSE with no frills. Seems well made, though I'm not subjecting it to much abuse, and only using it in a garage, not outdoors. Hopefully it will last a long time. As for the charging rate, although the Bolt and most other EVs made nowadays are capable of charging at least twice as fast as the 3.5-ish kW rate this EVSE can deliver, you might find based on your driving habits that you almost never need more than this. Depending on the milage per kWh you get from your car, you may get around 100 miles from an overnight charge. It can't fully charge a Bolt overnight that has a very low battery level, but these situations are fairly rare for me. And if you go on a weekend trip and come back on a Sunday night with a spent battery, you can still easily get enough juice for the morning commute plus an errand or two unless you're a "supercommuter." In summary, I'd recommend this EVSE to anyone who has a NEMA 6-20 outlet they can utilize for charging, and who can get by with a 3.5 kW charging rate. ... show more

  • So far it works great.
I had to replace my old 240volt Level 2 charger, which kept giving error messages so I had to plug it in, remove it and replug it again and again and again on my Volt before charging would finally begin. This one goes from yellow to green first time every time. Plus, compared to my old one, this one actually has an IPR rating. This matters because I don't have a garage and have to charge my Volt when it is parked in my driveway so it sits out in the weather when the car is charging. (Update) I have had it for a couple months and so far, still working great. ... show more

  • Charges great up to a point.
The unit is built very well. I have the non switched unit and I like the faster charging rate, but it hasn't made through a complete charge cycle yet. On 220v it starts off great. When it reaches about 80% it stops charging and gives an fault code of either 5 flashes for over current protection or 6 flashes for short current protection. Un plugging the unit and plugging it back in will get it going again. I did notice the data plate specs the unit for 50 hz and the US runs 60 hz if that makes any difference to the controller. I haven't tried it on 110 volts as that defeats the purpose for a faster home unit. ... show more

  • WHY SPEND MORE???
Terrific value for the money. Seems well built. Just plug it in 220/240v outlet. It also has cord adapter for regular 110/120v outlets but it takes much longer to charge. With 210/220v it takes 3 hrs 45 min to fully charge our 2020 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. A Chrysler Mopar Charger will cost you $600+ (not including any electrical services) and maybe it charges a little faster, but for less than $200 you can get this. Very happy with it, we've had it 4 months now with no problems. ... show more

  • Working great. 3 month review
I have use this charger exclusively for outdoor charging at home. It sits in my drive way on the ground. I ordered it in December. Its now March. I live in Michigan. Snow didnt seem to bother it. Nor rain. I just bought a second one to keep in the car. Charges at 16amps on 110v. I have NEVER used the 220v functions so this review would just be for the 110v side of the electronics. ... show more

  • Do not buy for 110V
item description does not mention that there are 2 versions, switchable (10A/16A) and non-switchable I bought this to have it on my car so, I can use it on trips where I do not have 220v outlet available, seller sent me non-switchable version which supports only 16A, this works on my 110V outlet but as it is a 20A breaker makes it very sensible and prone to shutdown if you are using any other electrical device. Besides that, it appears to be working fine on my EV, but I am now limited in regards amperage usage. Make sure to buy a 10A version if you intention is to use 110V ... show more

  • This review is for the charger with a Free NEMA 5-15 (120V) adapter (16A+Adapter); a Great Charger!
Graphics and Title ("Morec EV Charger NEMA6-20P, Portable EVSE Level 2 Type1 SAE J1772 Plug 8m (26 feet), 220V-240V, 16A, Home Electric Vehicle Charging Station Compatible with All EV Cars …") are misleading. This is actually a DUAL Level 1 AND Level 2 Charger with a DUAL input voltage of 120 - 240 VAC. I just received it, set it up and have enormous hopes it will last long into the future. Works like a charm with 120 VAC input, was easy to install, has clear and concise documentation with lovely drawings and sketches. Build quality appears to be excellent. My only concern is a promised 3-year warranty on Amazon but the documentation declares a 2-year warranty. In the event of an issue my expectation is the longer Amazon warranty will prevail. Hope they sell a lot of these so the price point remains low. Will update this review should there be future issues. ... show more

  • As good or better than OEM
Bought this as a second charger for my 2021 Pacifica Hybrid. Wanted one to leave plugged in at home and one at work or to keep in the vehicle. I’ve only used this in a standard 120V outlet so not sure how it works for 240V. It seems to charge just a little bit faster than the one that came with the vehicle. I leave it laying outside in the rain and sprinklers soak it down all the time. No issues yet. ... show more
