I wasn't necessarily impressed with the materials used in the manufacture of this machine and its accessories. All the above simply felt "cheap" to me as similar feeling gear in my past would inevitably fail or fall apart. After several months of active use of this vacuum cleaner it is now clear to me my suspicions were incorrect. Yes, everything is extraordinarily light weight (especially the brush head unit). But where I once thought that would have indicated a compromise in durability and performance, this is simply not the case (so far). I'm especially pleased with the ease of removing debris from the catch basin once it fills up. It's extraordinarily easy enough to remove it from the main unit. It's light enough to lift it above a kitchen trash can. And the latch mechanism opening the basin container for the purpose of emptying it into a trash can functions well with minimal (if any) mess. The suction and other controls of this machine are also highest quality in my humble opinion. And oh yeah, I'm also impressed with the lower-level noise this thing makes during operation in comparison to ALL other machines I've owned in the past. As opposed to other larger machines that offer on-board storage of the various cleaning heads one my use (such as the brush head, etc.), this unit does not. Nonetheless, I consider this a plus in how the lack of on-board storage helps minimize the overall size and weight of the entire machine. Yes, this brand charges a bit more than its competitors. So I usually buy Dyson, and I loved Dyson when they first came out. But the one I had most recently was upright animal/ ball and it felt so cheap. It was flimsy feeling. Either way the motor / rotation on the head died and it stopped sucking. So I took a risk and bought this. First this is a QUIET vacuum. I love that you can use the hose without pulling it out of the base of the vacuum - instead you just remove the head of the floor piece. I like that I can fully clean the chamber I don’t have to stick my f- hand in the debris to get it out. The cord goes back into place with a button. And they say that they have the same suction power / more than a dyson. But here’s the deal, the head it comes with does not have rotation it’s meant for flat hardwood floors, so you have to buy another head - the turbo. Which works well, it’s just not motorized so it feels less substantial than the Dyson which felt like it would suck the carpet up. (I liked that, to the point it almost wouldn’t move). I think you have to get another version to get a motorized head. This version you can only get a suction driven head. It is a really nice, serviceable vacuum - I’m Sick of buying things that deliberately die and you’re forced to buy a new one. For the cost of a Dyson it should be more serviceable. And it shouldn’t die in 2 years. I had the first Dyson ever and that thing went from 2009-2021. It was a sad day, even worse now that I think about the fact that I got a new one that turned out to be flimsy die in 2 years junk. ... show more

This is the worst vacuum I have ever owned, not sure what happened to Miele - I had one years ago and it was fantastic, this one however has never worked properly since I purchased it and today it just randomly seems to have died for no reason?! The power cord catch hasn't worked since the second time I used it, the suction power is a joke and it gets clogged almost immediately upon using. I have a small apartment with mostly hardwood floors and just a couple rugs and this piece of junk can't even handle that. Do yourself a favor and save your money. This is a great vacuum for floors and throw rugs. It’s really not meant for carpet unless you purchase a power head. Very powerful and quiet. Very easy to clean dust cup and filters. Very simple vacuum which is exactly what I was looking for.

I would give this vacuum a perfect score except that it’s not strong enough on carpet and they don’t offer a strong motorized head for it even for additional cost. Other than that I love the ease of use and the lightweight body when carrying it up stairs. It does have good suction. Overall I am pleased with my purchase since my house is primarily hardwood. If it were all carpet I would hate it. The carpet issue surprises me too because this model is specifically for pets and my dogs shed, have fine dirt on their feet and sometimes chew up toys or paper items. This vacuum WILL NOT pick up small items, not even a shredded paper towel because it immediately clogs the narrow vacuum head. I have go through my house and get those up before I start vacuuming. It may seem like I don't recommend this vacuum but I do, it's impressive! SO much lighter and easier than the Dyson I had before! I'm just being honest about my experience. UPDATE - It has now been 3.5 months since I bought this and by no fault of Amazon, the vacuum is a total fail. I chose it specifically because it is branded “cat & dog” and I have dogs. Tufts of hair very VERY quickly clogged both floor heads and try as I might, there was nothing I could do to stop it. The suction is abysmal. I would NOT recommend this vacuum to anyone who has a pet. Miele doesn’t even sell a motorized floor head that will fit this model. The product description is highly misleading. Save yourself a lot of trouble and do not buy this vacuum, my correspondence with Miele directly was slow, unhelpful and frustrating. Again, this is no fault of Amazon. ... show more
