I was pleasantly surprised with the performance of this machine. It is the quietest of any vacuum I have ever owned. The rollers move like butter across my hard floor surfaces to the point that I enjoy just moving it around, like a little kid. A light machine was not on my purchasing checklist, but I must attest to the fact that this machine is very light. The suction is on par to all my past great performing vacuums, which is great. The Hard floor tool is excellent, it actually picks up the debris not just push it to corners unlike reviews of other vacuum models I have read online. I am very pleased with this purchase. The one thing that I do not like is the price. If you can get past that, this is an all around excellent machine. It has plenty of power. It is quiet, it moves effortlessly, it is very light for a corded machine. The design is very artistic making it lovely to look at when stored somewhere. It is bagless. This has to be the greatest consumer vacuum on the market. Truly engineered to check all the boxes. I hope to use this for many years which is why I went bagless, because in my research the bagged version of this machine is rated even higher. ... show more

If you have a pet, this is a great vacuum. There are some that will argue that a bagless vacuum is a waste. I would disagree however and I save a ton of money by not having to buy Miele bags (which aren't cheap). This vacuum still has better suction than any other vacuum I've used. The dust collector is well designed and allows you to dump the large items in the trash without any mess. The fine particles are collected in another container that only needs to be emptied occasionally, but this means when you dump the normal collector, there isn't any fine particles being released back into the air. Our previous vacuum was also a bagless model (different manufacturer) and we had to empty it outside because of all the fine particles it released back into the air. With this vacuum I can dump it in any trash inside and not have any problems. The vacuum also has a HEPA filter which should help people with allergies. The dog and cat version of this vacuum comes with an additional air powered small rotating brush attachment. I didn't have high expectations for this attachment based on other air powered attachments I've used before, but I was shocked when I used it. This attachment is great! It's the perfect size to clean furniture - whether you have a pet or not. The suction is very good and the brush turns at a high speed and does NOT bog down when you use it (like other brands I have used). I'd recommend the attachment even if you don't have a pet. The vacuum also comes with the nicer version of the Miele powered head too for use on carpets. Overall this vacuum has been great. I was amazed at the amount of dirt it picked up from our rugs the first time we used it. It was disgusting how much crap came out of them. The build quality is very high on this vacuum and I fully expect this vacuum to last many many years. We typically get 2-3 years out of other vacuums before they breakdown or loose suction. This vacuum has a 7 year warranty on the motor (suction). So while it costs a lot more money upfront, not only do you get a much higher quality product, I expect the product to last 3-4 times longer which will actually make the purchase more economical in the long run. Update - We've had this vacuum for 4 years now and it works as good today as the day we bought it. I have ZERO complaints about the vacuum and I would recommend it to anyone. It's not cheap, but it is a high quality device that is going to work well and last a long time. It's honestly well worth the price! ... show more

This appliance has been the bane of my existence since the day I bought it. The first one showed up broken on multiple parts, sending me on the return/replace journey. The second one has been to the repair shop twice now in 1.5 years: first for the poorly engineered foot release latch that barely works to begin with breaking (because they had to make this part out of plastic on a nearly $1000 vacuum??) and now because it's shutting off after a few minutes of running, even with the filters cleaned and suction feeling normal. Meanwhile, small pieces of plastic occasionally flake off the arm assembly which the repair guy brushed off as "common occurrence". Meanwhile, this thing is an ergonomic nightmare. I was apprehensive when i bought it, having been used to the upright style vacuums for so long. I should have trusted my instincts over the weird vacuum evangelicals online. I routinely almost trip over the thing while vacuuming. If they had made the hose a couple feet longer, this wouldn't be an issue, but as designed this thing has to be right up against your feet during use. The power cord was also shorter than my previous vacuum. Exacerbated by the need to constantly drag the thing along behind you because of how little slack they engineered into it, it likes to roll over on it's belly way too easily when you tug it along. The roller brush that comes with this also seems poorly engineered. the pedal that disengages the upright position doesn't work consistently, and the pedal that adjusts the pile-height will regularly land in "half-way-between" settings when used. Suction performance has been fine, but not remarkably different from a vacuum 1/3 the price. It's over-priced, under-engineered, cumbersome, and the warranty support process is weirdly nebulous on the Miele website. I have nothing good to say about this product. ... show more

The Miele Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog PowerLine was our “house Christmas present” for this year, and it is unequivocally the best vacuum cleaner we’ve ever used. You will be absolutely astonished with the amount of animal hair, dirt, dust, etc. you’ll collect the first time you use the Blizzard CX1 on rugs, etc. you think your old vacuum cleaner was doing a good job on. Intuitive to use, not too large or heavy given its power, relatively quiet, and has a decent cord length. Bagless design is easy to clean and saves money in the long run. Our only minor complaint is that the bristles on the included SSP10 dusting brush are short and a bit stiff, so we’re hesitant to use it on expensive polished wood furniture. Putting that issue aside, you won’t regret this investment for your house. ... show more
