I know this is a relatively inexpensive patio umbrella, but everything about this umbrella is substandard. The fabric is about the same weight as what is found on your rain umbrellas. The metal pole and struts easily flex under even light stress. When you cranking it to top, it feels like either the pull string will snap or the struts will fail under the strain. The umbrella really looks like it was designed to be lite enough to carry to the beach, not for outdoor durability. I'm amazed at all the positive reviews on this umbrella. It really puts into question, given the other umbrellas listed, if you can find a quality patio umbrella on Amazon.

Was pleasantly surprised at how durable this is & I can tell you first hand how I came to this conclusion; When I ordered it I failed to realize that it is made to screw into the ground. I have a bistro table I wanted to use it with & the "auger/screw" thing was too big to fit through the hole in the table. Because I liked it so much & I didn't want to send it back I decided to try to remove the hard, rubbery plastic screw part & found that it was impossible to remove it! From there the only thing that would work was taking a heavy hammer & busting off chips of the screw part until it was small enough for the table hole, but because the plastic screw part is heavy duty rubbery plastic, it wouldn't just "chip off." I had to bludgeon that little part for 15 minutes before whittling it down small enough to fit! I know that seems like a lot of unecessary work when I could have just sent it back for the right one, but I needed it that day so nothing was going to stop me from "customizing" it:)) Last week we had extremely high winds & I'd forgotten to let the umbrella down. The wind was so high it blew over the table & even though the umbrella landed pretty hard in open position, it didn't break or damage it. Suffice it to say that I am thrilled with this umbrella & just want to tell others that it is absolutely worth purchasing; that is IF you are sure you're buying the right one for the right application!

The media could not be loaded. Perfect umbrella for my deck! I’ve had this nearly a month now and it has definitely helped increase the time I spend on out back deck during the day. I absolutely love being outdoors, but I’m very funny about getting too much sun exposure. I have used it every day since receiving it. I got this because of how the neck pivots to keep the sun from shining on me no matter the direction. The fabric is a great quality and has already been through two bad storms without any tearing. The mechanics that pivot the neck are easy to use and glide smoothly. I would definitely repurchase this umbrella. Please know this umbrella doesn’t come with a stand, so you’ll have to use it with a table with an umbrella hole or purchase a stand separately.

Seemed to be a good sized for our patio and at first glance the umbrella appeared to be fairly sturdy in construction. The color was more vibrant than I imagined from the picture, which for us was unfavorable. Regrettably, the button that disengages the lock at the tilting mechanism became stuck in the depressed position upon first use, rendering the tilt mechanism useless. I imagine that the button could be somehow knocked loose, but it seems likely to reoccur given that it happened at first use. Will be looking for another solution.

This product is nice and seems to be on a sturdy base with nice quality material in the umbrella itself but it is missing a critical piece, the cable that pulls the umbrella up and open. I can see that the cable is inside the pole, near the crank, wound around the crank itself, but fresh out of the box it was not attached to the umbrella top. I don't believe this is something that happened during shipping.

Edit2: I received the new umbrella from the seller. This one is smaller and does have tilt. Edit: the seller promptly answered my question (within the hour!) and said the following: 1. The 11ft and above umbrellas DO NOT HAVE TILT. This is because of weight issues. 2. They will send me another umbrella to replace the one that has the broken cord. The seller seems to be on top of the situation here which I appreciate - changed from 1* to 3*. ---- False advertising: my umbrella has no tilt (although the photos and specs clearly said so). The umbrella is made of very heavy metal and the umbrella material appears high quality but the rigging (chord) broke in under a week of daily use (one up/down per day, always using the pin). I have other umbrellas that lasted already almost 10 years… YouTube + Amazon will likely help me to fix the issue with a high quality halyard. I’ll also change the slider tie from currently using 2 stop knots to a bowlin knot instead (another disaster waiting to happen).

I am so happy I didn't have to take this back, because it is a hassle to have to return a heavy umbrella. It was very easy to assemble, it arrived with 2 parts that snap together. The frame is made from a strong metal material and the fabric is thick enough to endure California sun. The thing I appreciate the most is the button that helps you direct the angle of the shade depending on where the sun is, without having to move the entire umbrella. I wish they had baby blue, but the orange is really cute. I bought the 9 ft and it is literally covering most if my patio which is great, but if u have an apartment patio the 7 ft should work.

We live in Arizona and there is a lot of hot sun here. To actually spend some time outside we need as much shade as possible. This is a large umbrella and has the tilting feature so we can move it for more protection as we sit around the patio table outside. The pole is sturdy and strong. The material is thick and a beautiful color of navy blue. It was really easy to assemble - just put the top part with the umbrella into the bottom stand. Of course we always need to make sure it is secure in the stand since it gets pretty windy.
