There's very little assembly needed. Probably the first trick is to free the stuff packaged in the drum. To do this, get to where you can take the lid off the cat box. Take off all the tape, then press the button in back that says "push", then you can manage to get the parts out. Don't try to take out the front. When pairing the device, it's not clear at all, but you need to hold down the fan button for 5 seconds... But wait, first you have to unlock the buttons for use by pressing the left-button ("clean") twice... Then you can press the fan button. The app displays temperature in celsius only AFAICT, but displays weight/lbs as an option (weird). The first bathroom visit was inauspicious, it rotated the waste which dropped to the other side and stuck not continuing into the disposal area and then plopped back into the litter area afterwards. After upping the delay time from 40secs to 2mins made it successful in disposing waste. I'm using A&H Slide litter which has worked the best in the past. Did a full clean today which was pretty easy. It's been working on its own and the litter is staying clean so I'm quite happy with it. I don't have to clean it every day, and topping off litter is super easy with the "flap" on the top. With two cats it was good for about 6 days before I needed to empty the drawer.

The media could not be loaded. I’m not entirely on board with the “best thing since sliced bread” level of praise this product gets. I’m not being paid to write this, so I might have a slightly different take. Yes, it generally does what it promises: you add litter, the cat uses it, litter is sifted and disposed into a bin with a bag, therefore never having to scoop. The app also provides stats and allows you to initiate a cleaning cycle/level which is handy. That said, a few things are worth noting that others didn’t mention. The instructions are a bit confusing and not entirely accurate. For example, the fan button doesn’t seem to do anything, and if you’re trying to disable the child lock—which turns on about every 10 seconds—press the button with the scoop twice not the fan, as suggested by their directions. That little tip could save you a lot of time and frustration! The app appears to support scheduled refreshes, but mine has an error about an exhaust pipe not being inserted properly—except it doesn’t have an exhaust pipe. Also, unlike some other brands, it’s not easy to find consumables, though i’m hoping most standard items should work fine. Finally, for some reason, I’ve noticed this unit leaves behind a stronger lingering odor than my previous self-cleaning litter box, which was the biggest letdown, IMO.

First of all, it’s a great litter box and our cat loves it. I will say the instructions were limited. Luckily, it’s fairly easy to figure out. And the app was easy to use.

This Smart Litter box really is next level! I'd consider this to be just as good as the Robot litter box, just not as fancy in appearance but it's a cat toilet so why would I care about it being more aesthetically pleasing? It's not bad looking at all. In fact, it's rather impressive looking. It connects to your smart phone so you can tell when it needs to have it's garbage bag removed, how clean it is, and if you want to know if you're cat is currently in it. Also, it has a sensor so it knows when something, such as your cat, is inside of it in order to avoid the machine from rotating to remove clumps of cat poop and urine. The way it works is similar to a front close clothes washing machine. There's an opening in the front and when the cat does his business and get out of the litter box, the machine rotates in order to clear the clumps of cat mess and drops them into a drawer which is in the bottom of the litter box, separate from the section where the cat gets in. The drawer holds a garbage bag, for the cat mess to be dumped into, and the owner removes the bag when it's full. There is a function on the box and that goes to your phone letting you know when it needs to be removed. The drawer is very large and can hold a lot so you won't waste a bunch of bags for small amounts of mess. The claim is that if one cat uses the box, you will only have to tend to it once every 15 days. I have two cats so I'm guessing I'll have to clean the drawer every week which is far better than scooping litter every day. There's no odor and it has an odor feature which doesn't leave a fragrance behind but helps reduce any odor from the litter and from the cat's mess. Thus far, the rotating machine has not gotten stuck or messy. There are many electric litter boxes I've tried which have a sifting feature that gets stuck by the clumps of litter but this is a real machine, not a cheap toy-like plastic box. It's easy to figure out how to assemble and to use even if you have never put anything together before. It comes with a manual with pictures that help figure out how it works. In my opinion, this is as good as it gets for Smart, no scoop litter boxes.
