I wouldn't have this around young children or elderly people. The main drawback of this kettle is that it isn't insulated. I find that a major design flaw since a fix for that has already existed for decades. However, my previous kettle didn't have a gooseneck spout, and I LOOOOVE the exactitude and ease of use of the gooseneck spout. I live in an apartment that is 80 years old. It is beautiful but has its quirks. One of them: my previous kettle's voltage of 1300W, would shut down in the kitchen. This 1000W kettle fits the bill: - The lower wattage means I have to wait an extra 30 seconds for the water to be hot. I'm OK with that concession as long as I can use it in my kitchen. I can. - It is beautiful, so I don't mind having it out on the counter. - Since I did my homework, I knew about the heat hazard before I bought it. So "I made my bed", and this kettle doesn't deserve a 3-star rating. - My previous kettle had bells and whistles. i.e.: Temperature control, automatic reheating, etc. This does not. But I find I don't miss that AT ALL. There's a version of this kettle for 2x the price that offers those features. I don't need them. Furthermore, I appreciate the streamlined base in this one. - It is ergonomic and well-balanced. - Water capacity: 3 cups. - Did I mention I LOOOVE the gooseneck design? I'm even using this kettle to water small indoor plants. I hope this passes the durability test. I will update in a couple of years.

This thing makes my microwave cry. I am a Kettle snob now and I'm not sorry. Love this thing. Use it every morning and many evenings. Heats the filtered water so fast. Looks nice enough to keep on the kitchen counter.

I love love love this little kettle. I’ve never seen one heat up water so fast in my life. I use this for pour over coffee and it’s awesome. Way faster than regular coffee makers and it’s a beautiful aesthetic as well.

We love this kettle! It looks great and it does what it's supposed to do - heat up water quickly and be easy to pour out a stream of hot water exactly where you want it to go. There are only a couple of minor complaints: 1. I wish it had a louder signal when the boiling water is ready; and, 2. it's difficult to dry the inside of the kettle with a cloth, which is recommended before setting the kettle back on its base. The innards of the kettle make it difficult to get a cloth and one's hand in there. We turn our kettle upside down for a bit so it can drip-dry instead.
