It came in a small box, not very heavy. The parts were easy to assemble , only for the the third part I would recommend to have a second person to help hold the awning to get the last panel into the groove. I than had the awning mounted by my handyman (did not have the heavy drill needed for a bearing wall) above my office window, looking out to the south, which usually gets very hot during the summer months. Assembly is simple for one person. Was very easy to install, plan on at least two people though to make it easier. Seems to hold up well after 35-45 MPH wind gusts after was put up. Very lightweight (Apprx 11 lbs assembled) but dont let that fool you...it is rock solid when the bolts are tightened. I installed on vinyl siding over existing asbestos shingles with wood slat backing existing in the wall. Make sure to remove all white and clear plastic protective films before trying to assemble into joints and frame. ... show more

Not at all easy to install. Once my husband put it together and we tried to install the awning it Fell apart. The panels would not stay in the tracks. It fell off our deck and broke into pieces. Could not even return it for a refund. Don’t buy it!!

I bought this 39X78 Awning to cover our wood potting bench and wood pool cabinet from the weather. I intended to shorten this Awning to fit in the space I needed anyway, so I anticipated it was going to be a small job. To shorten this 39X78 Awning you must cut not only the Polycarbonate boards (4), but (2) other plastic connecting pieces and (2) front and (2) rear aluminum pieces. See my Photo of the pieces you'll need to cut. After I measured and cut what I needed to, it took me by myself about 30 mins to install on our wood shed wall. The Seller provided 3 1/4" bolts that I might of used if installing into Brick or stucco. I didn't use their bolts (too long) and instead used my own screws and washers. The instructions look like they were copied 1,000's of times, hard to tell orientation of certain parts. Also the instructions appear to show you assembling this Awning as one piece after you put it together. I installed it left to right, piece by piece. Not as one whole piece. Much easier. I made sure the brackets were level as I moved to the next bracket. However when I was finished, I noticed the Awning had a slight bow in middle. Not sure why. One last mention. Each polycarbonate panel is what they call 'twin wall' polycarbonate panels. UV rated and each row is hollow. So if the panels are not tight against the brackets when installed, they may get water inside of the panel when it rains. Overall I expect these panels should last a long time. ... show more

    • Lost Polycarbonate covers to the wind

Looks nice. We installed this summer. First winter storm with winds gusting to 50 mph. Polycarbonate covers ripped out of the frame and lost to the wind. Is there any way to replace just the cover? The frame held strong, but need replacement cover.
