I love my awning. Assembly is difficult but it is a big heavy complicated mechanical thing. I'm not sure how they could have made it easier. The color was beautiful, the fabric is heavy-duty, and the mechanicals are sturdy. However, because it is basically a big sail, you can't have it extended in winds over 6 mph. Initially my fasteners were inadequate and I had to replace my wood screws with sturdy (3/8")? bolts and nuts. There is a lot of leverage force where it attaches to the building. My one warning is put some UV protected on the material. It fades very quickly in the sun. The two pictures were taken with the same camera and you can see how much it has faded over 2 months time. Also, read the instructions carefully. There is a reason for doing things in a certain order. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Love it so far. We had 2 people install it in about 3 hours. We only had 8ft of height but we made it work. One screw was bent but the installers were able to rig something up so it worked. The crank is pretty easy to open, even my 6 year old can open it easily. We opted not to install the ruffle edge for appearance. For the price, its great! ... show more

I really liked this and it works great, perfect for my small deck. My only issue was finding someone to install it which isn't the fault of the manufacturer. I hired a handyman and he said the directions were not that easy to understand and he finally went online to watch a video and figured it out. Then the next morning due to it's weight and how he hung it, it fell off the house. Then he put it together wrong and ruined the front bar. He claims he tried to get a replacement and had no luck & while I waited for him to buy me a new shade I emailed the company myself....They responded immediately and sent me a parts list and replaced the parts for free and they were at my house within 3 days. The company was so great about helping me. A neighbor and I replaced the parts ourselves and now it's in perfect condition. It's a great little shade for the price. I recently changed the deck floor to composite materials which gets blistering hot and this keeps my dogs and I cool and also keeps the kitchen from getting so hot by blocking the sun. ... show more

I d give 0 if could. cheaply made..hardest part putting together was sliding the round liner in material. Ibought as replacement for one I had over 10 years. thos one be lucky if lasts season..Big difance between this and one I replaced..directions sucked. was able figure most it out . But were tape is with warnings to remove till end . The paper was covering holes needed to put bolts threw took me while to find them because of the warning . I didn t want to remove paper . Butthere are tie wraps under paper .once figured that out I saw the holes I was looking for...I have it up and using it..Just hope get 2 seasons out of it.. I d send back if wasn t such a big Item and be tuff to repack and ship back...so making best of it.... ... show more

Great product....so far. The awning feels solid, well made. Should have options for wall anchors, the ones provided are cheap. Worst and must disappointing is the instructions manual, it’s just terrible if you have never built or installed something that requires some skills and a little common sense. Overall, love the product it was up within a couple of hours. ... show more

OKAY Awning. Assembly is only difficult because the instructions are horrible, black & white only stick illustrations (Pictures would be Much Much More Helpful" making it easier to understand the instructions. Do the steps in order, there's a reason for it. You do need some assembly skills - It took 6 hrs to get assembled leveled and lined up when extended. The fabric seems thick but the stitching in some places is HORRIBLE - Hope it stands up to the sun and small breezes? ... show more

Like many other people have said the instructions really bad. Mostly just poor English. Not that I'm expecting great literature here, but sentences that make sense would be helpful. Screw holes don't line up. Easy to fix with a drill. The big problem comes with the flexible rods that the include to hold the fabric into the slot on the roller. It is simply way too small and simply falls out. I ended up having to duct tape it to the roller. I guess considering the price I'm not sure what I expected. With modification and duct tape I made it work, but I really don't think a brand new item should have to be drilled and duct taped together to make it work. ... show more

The instructions were the WORST...extremely unclear. I had a very smart guy and it took several hours to assemble, and the dimensions of a couple things were way off. I would never have bought this awning knowing what I do now.
