  • Very portable, easy set up, quick to light and heat up. Love it.
Style: Grill with Cart
Ok, I love this little grill. I needed something I can throw in the back of my truck, or in the trailer to take to weekend rodeos. This fits the bill perfectly. Takes me less then 2 minutes to collapse it and put it in the truck. 2 minute setup. Not the most even cooking temps, but, shift stuff around a bit and it works great. I've done steaks, burgers, chicken, pork loin, and brats. All came out fantastic. Gets hot enough, holds temp well with the lid closed, doesnt use much charcoal. any complaints you read about getting the firestarters to stay in the holder, just get these Stanbroil 108 pcs Fire Starters, Natural Charcoal Fire Starters and you wont have any problems at all. ... show more

  • Very well made.
Style: Grill with Cart
After assembling and testing this grill I am very impressed. Everything is reasonably high quality and it works exactly as advertised. Its a 10/10 when it comes to performance in my opinion. You will get smoky evenly-cooked food and the clever design of the interior prevents flareups. There were only a few minor issues. One was that the outer cover for the temperature/fan control knob came off in the package and seemed to have barely been glued on. Note that this wasn't the actual knob mechanism itself, just sort of a plastic cover that went on it that adds grip and a dot to show what temperature it's currently set to. I glued it back on and it works fine now. Another mild issue was that a few screws and bolts around the pre-assembled parts of the grill were loose. I did a once over to tighten everything and its fine now, it's something you might want to do if you purchase this. Otherwise this is a fantastic product and the cartless option is a total steal for the price. The material is all thick and either powder coated or stainless steel and doesn't feel cheap at all. One last thing to keep in mind is that if you get it with the cart it doesn't just pop off easily. The cart is thoroughly screwed to the base of the grill. It's still very low profile and portable with the cart attached, but it does have a longer profile and is going to need more storage/trunk space if you're mainly looking at this grill for camping or tailgating. ... show more

  • I like it, but...
Style: Grill with Cart
I bought this after seeing it in action on a dutch BBQ YouTube channel. I don't have too much storage space and I needed something portable, but I also wanted something that I can use to smoke brisket. It's doable on this grill as long as you use a smallish piece of meat and trim it so it doesn't touch the top or sides of the grill. Overall I'm very happy with it. On a not so positive note, the plastic on the back metal hinges was bubbling after 2 uses, which is very concerning. Also, the grill came in what seemed like a battered box and was missing a minor piece that connects the handle to the grill. I jerry rigged it so I can use the unit, but two weeks after the date of purchase I am still waiting for the part to come. Interacting with Masterbuilt was somewhat of an annoying chore because they are not very responsive. ... show more

  • This is a nice product
Style: Grill with Cart
This is a nice smoker for something small if you’re only gonna cook for an hour or an hour and a half, however, for a long cook, the pot isn’t large enough to put enough clothes in the bottom so you would wind up having too much ash buildup in the fire wouldn’t stay hot. Also I found that we had The locking mechanism melted off and we were very happy to say the company stood behind it and sent us a new one at no charge so overall great product. ... show more

I feel totally duped! I saw multiple video's on YouTube regarding this portable smoker from big BBQ names. They all received this smoker free as long as they made a video about it. I watched several of these video's and they all said how amazing this portable smoker is. So, I caved and spent $360 on one. Upon arrival the box was pretty much destroyed. Fourtanetly, nothing was damaged. I assembled the smoker and did two pre-cook seasonings prior to cooking with it. My first cook was two 1/2 lb hamburgers. Keep in mind, I followed the directions to a T. After approximately 30 minutes of smoking the burgers I checked on them and they were totally burnt. The temperature gauge read between 225 - 250 the entire time. I do this type of cook all the time with my pellet smoker and have never had this problem. Second cook was two very nice filet mignon's. I again smoked the filets for 30 minutes prior to checking on them and same exact thing, burnt. Third cook was one 1/2 lb Hamburger and it cooked super fast and I literally checked on it every five minutes. It was fully cooked in about 15 minutes. The flavor non impressive. I don't know what the hype is all about with this smoker. It runs extremely hot and the temperature gauge does not accurately reflect cooking temperature. Secondly, adjacent to the coal box is extremely hot and since the grate is so small you lose space on this already tiny smoker. I love the concept but I am not impressed with this smoker. I'm now skeptical about buying the larger version of this. I also read all of the reviews for this smoker the Good and bad and saw alot of comments about there being a learning curve. This portable smoker basically cooks like an offset grill. If I have to check on my food every fives minutes then I might as well buy a traditional stick smoker. Sorry Masterbuilt I'm not impressed. I returned my purchase 3 weeks after buying for a full refund. If you buy this portable smoker you have 30 days to return it for a full refund. ... show more

  • Great little grill…except
Style: Grill with Cart
I bought this to supplement my 560. The charcoal flavor is money. Cooks great, temp control is a learning curve. One serious issue is the grates. Well, they’re not really grates, more like the top of a broiler pan. Seasoned as per instructions. First cook was a nice strip steak. I couldn’t believe how bad the steak stuck to the grates. First time jitters. Or so I thought. Second cook, drumsticks. Cleaned and oiled grates. Heated to temp. It stuck that bad that it literally ripped the drumsticks apart. Replaced the garbage grate with a set of grillgrates. Now, the grill is a little rock star. Masterbuilt needs to change the design to the ones like my 560. ... show more
